Beef with NROLFW book
Where is the info on the benefits of lifting on bone health??? I'm into nutrition now and it still hasn't come up yet, if it doesn't I'm going to be really annoyed. One of the main reasons I bought the books for my mum. Now I'm stuck trying to find good papers to include with the book.

Alzheimer's Disease and the Paleo Diet
Here is an interesting article on the effects of the paleo diet on brain health, particulary with regard to carbohydrates and cholesterol. There are multiple links within the article to the original research papers if you care to read deeper. It would help if I actually included the link wouldn't it?…

NROWFW books for Mothers Day
After all the reviews on here about the New Rules of Weightlifting for Women book I've ordered myself, my mother, and my mother-in-law a copy. I'm already weightlifting in CF but will be moving away from my box and will have access to a free gym, like the idea of the programs in the back. I've been sharing my enthusiasm…

Nutrition: We don't know what we're recommending
An interesting and broad look at many nutritional studies and beliefs. What I got from it: We just don't know much at all... The section on caloric restriction is particularly interesting and I think pertinent to many here. http://www.staffanlindeberg.com/OldAndNew.html Disclaimer before a war starts out: I'm not endorsing…

Asparagus: Iron AND Potassium
FYI I had asparagus last night (half a bunch) and it had 29 Iron and 480 something Potassium, great news for many of us who are generally low on these fronts. The closest I've come to my goals on those two was yesterday. And it's tasty!

Food as Medicine?
Curious to hear your thoughts. Do you view your diet as your first prescription for good health? I see my food as the first medicine that will either help or harm my health goals. Does anyone have similar or different thoughts? Curious to know what motivates people to eat the way they do.

Just an FYI Discovered yesterday that my tinned smoked oysters have 60% DV of Iron. I was happy to see this as I'm usually low. Could be a good weekly or bi-weekly boost.

Seeing black spots hour after WOD
Hey all, I've been doing CrossFit since January (my brother who has been doing it for years got me a month membership for Christmas, best gift EVER, I've now drank the kool-aid :) I've had great results and always feel really good after workout, like jell-o, but good. Getting enough Protein
Quick disclaimer: If you don't believe in Paleo/Primal/CrossFit that is fine, I would still appreciate your advice on protein but please do not try and convince me to get away from the lifestlye that is sustainable and working for me. Will you change your sugar consumption after watching the 60
Cut it off but the question is: Will you change your sugar consumption after watching the 60 Minutes segment? I don't want to debate the validity of the studies or episode, that's already been done elsewhere. I'm wondering about a planned or actual change in behavior for yourself or family. I had already eliminated or…

Posted this to my facebook today, thought it might be helpful here as well. Having trouble making healthy choices a routine?
