Alternate day diet and exercise
I've been doing the alternate day diet for about 2 months and lost about 7lbs so far but now I've started cycling to work everyday (35mins daily) and running 3 times per week (15 miles+) and now I'm struggling with hunger more than ever but that's not too bad but I'm exhausted most days. I eat back my exercise cals on down…

Wheat free diets
After years of suffering terrible stomach pains and bloating I had tests at the doctors who advised I wasn't coeliac so starting eating bread and pasta again. After the pains started to get much worse, a few days ago I decided to cut out bread/pasta etc after reading an article in a magazine, and I already feel less bloat…

going primal
After 2 weeks of cutting out bread, pasta and cous cous in a bid to cut out some unpleasant side effects on my body, someone on mfp suggested looking on mikes daily apple. I did and 3 hours later i was still reading. I was wondering if anyone has just started and if you've bought any books, if so can you recommend any.

blowout = weight gain
I went out for a meal on friday night - I ate 3 slices of a 9inch pizza, half a loaded potato skin ( conservative for the old me) and then went onto to drink numerous cocktails. The result was obvious - a weight gain of 2lbs!! My question is, will restricting carbs and alcohol for the week and increased exercise (i'm…

secret eaters
last night i watched a programme about secret eaters, the couple on the show were overweight but basically ate healthily but far too much portion wise. They ate whilst watching tv or using their laptops. They underestimated their food intake and as a result were gaining weight. This is me! I know the rules of most diets…

anyone tried the Tone It Up nutrician plan?
I'm interested to see if this nutrician plan is easy to adapt to the UK market, if the foods are just the basics it will be ok but if the food is branded goods that we can't buy in the UK it might not be worth it. Also I eat a mainly vegetarian diet but with some meat thrown in occasionally and wondered if I do go ahead…

Ripped in 30 - is it as good as 30DS?
I've ordered my copy of Ripped in 30 and its due to arrive tomorrow, I'm hoping that its like the 30DS if not even better. I'm hoping to do it everyday for 30 days if I can manage it from the day it arrives. Has anyone tried it, or about to start the 30 day challenge?

GPS HRM or Ipod nano?
I can't decide what I should buy myself for xmas, a Garmin Forerunner GPS watch or an I-Pod nano? I already have a HRM but it can't do the training plans like the forerunner and it can't download info to the computer. But i would love the new nano as my little 1gb shuffle is on its last legs - can the nano do any kind of…

net calories
I joined mfp in october and have only managed to lose 8 lbs and I'm pretty disappointed about it. Could it be anything to do with the Net Calories a day. I usually burn between 500 and 700 a day and still stick to my calories guide. But my net calories are between 900 and 1100 cals per day. What am I doing wrong?

30 day shred weight gain!?!
I started doing the 30 days shred 5 days ago and its great, i'm still running 5 x 30 mins per week but looking at only losing 1/2 lb this week! Is this normal, i'm a bit shocked. My clothes do feel looser though so it might still be working.

Saving calories
Is it ok to save calories to have a blow out for a special occasion? Tomorrow night is pizza, nacho's and vodka galore! Best buddy at work's leaving meal and drinks, I've not used approx 1000 cals this week so it should more than cover the half pizza (i'm sharing). Or is it best to exercise like mad on the day after to…

New Digital Scales - totally gutted
I bought some new digital scales today and was really excited to test them out. I expected to have a few pounds difference but the digital scales are 10lbs heavier than my (really) old mechanical scales. What's the best thing to do? change my starting weight to adjust for the new 'weight gain' or just have a 'weight gain'…

New Starter
My name is Sarah and I'm a 36 yr old busy mum of 2 and I joined mfp after a recommendation from a friend. I've tried and failed to lose the last 20 lbs of weight gained in pregnancy through various different diets - none of which worked or lasted. Mfp has been addictive to use and hopefully when I dare to weigh in for the…
