Calorie experiment

Today i'm wearing a hrm all day to see if the calorie burned guide is accurate. Should I deduct the bmr from the total count at the end of the day?

    1st, just know that this is a "just for fun" experiment and will not be all that accurate.
    HRM's are not designed to calculate calories correctly when your heart rate is not elevated.

    That said, I wore mine all day when I got it! :)
    And again when I got a new one months later.
    And both times the total from 4AM to 4PM equaled close to what MFP gives me for a whole day. considering I spend MOST of the remaining hours in the 24 hour period asleep, I figured it was at least a "rough" estimate.

    And no, you wouldn't deduct anything from it, it'll count up to approximately your maintenance level throughout your day.
    My maintenance cals are 1530, and I was at that in 12 hours, not 24, so that shows how inaccurate the "wear it all day" experiment can be.
    If you want to know the number for real, I hear the bodybugg is intended to do it that way.
