School Lunch Gluten free ideas?
Ok my daughter has been suffering stomach aches for more than a year now we've done testing and Dr.'s can't seem to find a reason why. Even though the test for gluten came back normal I've been told there is a high rate of false negatives so I am thinking of trying a gluten free diet for her for the next few days/week to…

I HATE HATE HATE when restaurants get my order wrong! Went out on a date last night ordered a heathy meal I looked up the website before I went out to find what would be the best choice (Found an awesome meal for 376 Calories Steak, Spag Squash and Zucchini at Ruby Tuesdays) I order my steak Med Well she asks do you want…

24 - 36 hour shifts?
Ok I work over nights and I have between 2-4 days per month where I work or I am awake for 24-36 hours. On these days what is your opinion on adding in an extra meal of 300-400 calories due to the extra calories burned by being active and not sleeping? I already log different than most by logging 7am-7am rather than…

Foods high in calories for kids?
Without going into to much detail I'm looking for suggestions for kid friendly food ideas that will help my daughter to gain weight and will be easy on her tummy. I'm not going to let her start sucking down cookies and candy just for extra calories but she is a mildly picky eatter so I have to have kid friendly stuff and…

Clothes?
Ok so I'm at a point where all of my pants are falling off my hips I have to wear a belt to keep them up otherwise I'm constantly pulling them up and they are saggy as heck. Not sure what to do though because I'm low in the cash flow department and can't afford to buy all new summer clothes to last me a month - 2 months…

What do you do when you have something you can't find any nutritional information on? Tonight we had a bakery item from Cub Foods it was Angel Food Cake rolled with lemon in it. Cub foods doesn't have a nutition area for their bakery so I'm not sure what do do. It was 16 oz cake and I ate a 2.7 oz. piece

help with a label
So my mom got a small sampler cheese cake from the grocery store as a gift for her birthday last week. We just busted it out and I had a slice then I got to look at the label to log it and this is what it says (I should mention there were 8 small slices) Serving size 1 piece. Servings per cont. 5. WTH? There were 8…

Don't "see" the difference
Ok I'm not sure how to upload pictures on here to put them in posts like some people do, but I need an outside pair of eyes PLEASE. In my pictures in my profile I've uploaded a picture with a blue top and shorts from 2008 and a picture from today in a what my kids call peacock shirt ;-) I've lost 39 pounds but looking at…

Peaches in a Jar
I buy jarred peaches in fruit juice to take to work with me. It's convienant and there are 5 servings I can go grab one if I need a sweet break. However recently I read in passing something about not drinking the juice in with the fruit, is this not calculated into the nutritional information? I alway drink a little bit of…

Ok a little bit of back story before I ask my question. I'm caring for my sisters 3 children for 6 weeks because of a situation she's in. Her oldest daughter age 11 1/2 went to the doctor for her physical just before coming out here and the Dr was concerned about her weight she is 145 pounds at 5'1". She plays softball and…

First NSV
So I started back to the gym in December but didn't routinely use it until the past two months but when I had a fitness test I did a mile in 17 minutes part of it was a musculture groin pain I'd been having so I was trying to not stress it much but I was pushing myself a little. Today I did a mile in 13:46 ;-)

La Casita Restuarant question
So I went out tonight and ordered the Arroz Con Pollo. The restaurant does not release it's dietary information which I think is jacked but anyways I found on here a Restaurant Arroz Con Pollo so I'm using that as a general number. My question is this because I don't eat Mexican much but the dish came with 3 soft taco…

MFP Daily Activity Level
OK so I'm confused a little not sure if I should be lightly active or I should be sedentary. While my work is for the most part sedentary I work at a desk. I work out at the gym or take walks/runs 5-6 days a week and I've got 2 kids that I'm a single mom to that keep me active between cleaning, cooking, and yard work too.…

5 miles = 10,000 steps?
I read somewhere that 5 miles is roughly 10,000 steps. Math is not my strong suite so I just want to check with y'all on my math for the following. I work in an office that to walk around the "circle" is 50 steps (alright 49 but I'll round up for this one). If I walk around 4 times that would be .1 mile correct? I work…

Logging exercise
I've seen a lot of people putting things like house cleaning, or food preperation etc in their exercise logs. Are these things not part of the daily activity level in general? I mean these would be routine things one would do, correct? or should I be putting these activities in? I log stuff like yard work because it isn't…

side dishes?
So I am having a difficult time with side dishes for dinners. We are very much a family of meat, carb dish (potato's, rice, etc) and veggie. I'm trying to find some new ideas for side dishes that are healthier but not just a lettuce salad. I have made sides like summer squash, zuccini, red pepper and onion sauteed in FF…

Foot Pain
Ok so I've been trying to just work through and stretch it out but I've got this incredible burning/stretching/pain in my left foot where the arch combines with the heal. Not the center part of the arch but just before it joins the heal. It hurts to walk on it and REALLY hurts if I press on it. I thought originally it was…

Back at it again
Hello everyone! Thought I would drop by and introduce myself. This isn't my first trip down weight loss alley; however I've been very successful recently at keeping off what I've lost. I've always yo-yo'd in my weight loss since having kids in 2000 and 2002, but back in 2009 I lost 45 pounds and until the past 4 months I'd…
