Fitbit Users - Has anyone experienced this?
Apparently Fitbit users are getting rashes on their wrists. I was thinking of buying one for myself, but now... http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/01/13/fitbit-force-rashes_n_4590859.html

I think I'm doing it wrong.
So I've been on MFP for more than a year, logging on again and off again and on again. I was really committed to logging for a while a few months ago but found that I hadn't lost any weight and got frustrated. Then decided to hop back on it in the new year. I'm concerned because I keep reading different pieces of advice…

What's your FAVORITE frozen lunch brand?
I used to eat HealthyChoice steamers, but after a while I had them so much that I would feel nauseous. I recently switched to Amy's everything in hopes that they might be a little more substantive and have more real ingredients. It's certainly more expensive, but I'm so glad I made the switch. The only problem with Amy's…

I haven't even started.
I want to be at around 140 by August 1, 2014 for a wedding I will be attending. A family friend from high school who happened to be "the popular guy" is getting married, and I've received an invitation through my family. All of the people who were less than friendly in high school will be there, and while I have found…

To All "Resolutionists"
To All "Resolutionists" who will be joining a gym this New Year: I just want to take a moment to say welcome. I hope that you enjoy your time at the gym, and I think that it's awesome that you are doing something to achieve your fitness goals. I have to warn you, though. Some who frequent your new gym of choice will be…

20-25 year old friends!
If you're looking for some 20-25 year old friends to add for encouragement, please add me! I'm 23 years old and in grad school, trying to squeeze in healthy eating and workouts between classes and work. I love seeing other people's successes, it keeps me motivated! If you're looking for similar motivation, add me as a…

Two NSVs!
So I've been trying to lose weight since January, and overall it's been a pretty depressing run. Time constraints, finishing grad school, moving to a new city and getting a new job have all been pretty taxing and have made it hard to keep a routine - especially when I wasn't seeing results. I started by swimming a few days…

I always lose it at dinner...
If you look at my food diary, I tend to do great for breakfast and lunch. I have plenty of good clean foods, fruits and vegetables, and my fill of protein for the day. Then, I get to dinner... and I don't know what to eat. My protein is maxed out, so no to meat. I had my servings of vegetables for lunch. I'm out of fruit…

Video Game Characters as Weight Loss Inspiration?
For me, Ezio from Assassin's Creed is great motivation. He's stealthy, swift, has an incredible accent and can jump from rooftops. I aspire to his awesomeness. It adds a little fun, too, because I play the Assassin's Creed soundtracks when I'm working out in the gym and I pretend that I'm training to be an Assassin. :P Who…

I've been starving myself!
Over the past year, I tried very hard to eat only 1200 calories a day at the recommendation of another mobile weight loss app (I tracked everything on MFP). I didn't lose a pound, despite my best efforts. I was eating ok; I'm on a very low budget, so some days the best nutritional food I had were canned vegetables. So…

Skyrim Appreciation Post
Any other Skyrim lovers out there? I've been a gamer for a long time, but Skyrim has certainly kept me entertained and engaged more than any other game I've played. I finally gave in and downloaded Dragonborn, but I haven't played Dawnguard yet. I mostly stick with one character because I still haven't completed one game…

NSV - first "You've lost weight!" When was yours?
Mine was today, about 40 days in, after losing 11 pounds. When and how much were yours???

I'm just going to come out and say it
I love it when new people add me as a friend. It feels great to lose weight with other members of the MFP community. But the first time I see the "so and so has been inactive for three days" thing, I unfriend them. It's not because I don't want to be supportive, or because I think less of them. But I really want to stay…

New NSV and my best tip for weight loss
Hi All! I won't post a picture, as it's a little personal, but I celebrated a new NSV today! My black dress slacks, size 16, are pretty much falling off of my hips. I have about three inches of wiggle room. That's great, but the timing is poor - I'm attending a professional conference in only a month and will look like a…

One month in, 10.8 pounds down!
Wow! I'm the lowest weight I've been in four years. I still can't really process it. When I stepped on the scale and saw 176.4... well, there may have been a tear or two. I have a LONG way to go. But I'm so glad I started, and that I've stuck with it! My life is insanely hectic at the moment, but logging my food and…

Two NSVs this morning at the gym
1) I burned 400 calories during my 45 minute workout. I know that's not a lot for many, but for me that number is a personal best. Woohoo! 2) After showering, I discovered that I had accidentally grabbed a pair of pants that was too small. I didn't have time to go home, so I sighed and resigned myself to a day of…

Struggling w/ calories
So after a previous discussion, I decided to increase my intake to 1700 calories. Seems to be effective so far. However, I've found that I'm not hungry enough to eat that many calories. So I find myself with 1000 calories left for dinner, and that encourages me to eat things I should. A few examples of foods I've had the…

It's clearly February - lost motivation all around
Last week I went through a few days of "this sucks why am I not losing weight," but then made a deal with myself to log my food for a full calendar year - even if I'm not dieting. So I am feeling pretty committed to MFP and to my diet because I know I'll have to keep track of what I'm eating anyway. :0) BUT it's amazing…

Who's pumped for the Super Bowl?
I'd love to know what everyone is planning on eating today.

UGH. I'm not hungry. Any suggestions?
I posted earlier about BMR and how much I should eat, etc. Got a lot of great responses - thanks if you commented! :) BUT from that post I figured out that I needed to be eating 150 more calories per day than I had been. Fine. The problem? I'm not hungry for that many calories. As an example, today I had lunch at 12:30p…

Ok. How much do I need to eat? (BMR Related)
When I first joined MFP, ate 1200. Failed. Got the great advice to look up BMR. Did it. Set my eating to 100 calories more than BMR. Lost 5-6 lbs quickly. Then plateaued. So I decided to look up my BMR again. And got three different responses from three different calculators. MFP - 1540 BMI Calc.net - 1630 Muscle and…

Eating Chik-fil-A for lunch
Enjoying the original chicken sandwich and a bottle of water. No fries or sauces today! I have to say, now that I'm using MFP correctly it reminds me a lot of weight watchers. Enjoying our fast food filled world isn't a sin, it just shouldn't be a common practice. Do you have any favorite "bad foods" that you enjoy now and…

Good Chicken Recipes
I bought eight pounds of chicken breast, and then realized that a) I'm bored with chicken and b) I only know how to make two kinds of chicken: grilled and breaded. Tonight I choked some down with broccoli, but I think the rest might go to waste unless I get some good (but simple) chicken recipes stat. What are some of your…

Journaling the Typical... cleaning, chores, etc.
I've noticed a number of my MFP friend logging things like cleaning, doing chores, and things like that. My policy is to never log my "typical." I walk 30 minutes every day back and forth from my job to my parking space, but I don't log it because I've done that every day for a year and it didn't affect my weight loss in…

BMR vs Daily Intake
Ok, I used the BMR tool and it told me that my BMR is 1560. Other calculators online have told me that I need to each 1650 calories at my current weight to lose 1 lb./week. So I'm confused. Should I lower my intake to 1550? Or stick with the 1650?

On Resolutionists
When I first started checking out the MFP community last week, I came across a thread where a MFP member was complaining about all of the resolutionists taking up space in their favorite gym. I was surprised to see that most of the comments in response agreed with him, and called for the "soon to be quitters" to "get out…

Seeking Scuba Divers
I'm working to lose weight so that I can finally go diving! I got my certification in 2010, but was diagnosed with a weight related heart condition less than a month after being given my license. I can't dive until I get it taken care of, and taking care of it means losing weight!!! I've also realized while working out…
