5'7" plateaus....
Hey all, I'm wondering where you hit your plateaus in the weight loss scheme. More specifically what your daily calorie intake/activity level is so I can reference a ballpark. I am not super interested in anyone who eats less than 1500 NET calories, because I"m not going to starve myself and by calculators between 1430 and…

building muscle...
Okay. I've read that you can only build muscle on a deficit if you have a lot of fat to lose. What is the line between when you stop building muscle on a deficit? Is it more important to eat a surplus on the lifting days or the recovery days (during muscle repair)?

sorry to be "that guy"
I need help. I can guarantee this question has been asked a million times. but I'm confused. I've been 160 pounds since February. So needless to say I'm doing something wrong. I want to keep my fitbit synced up and I like to record workouts. Keeps me accountable. I use 300 calories for heavy lifting (as per NROLFW) and…

Tony Horton.
Does anyone else find him absolutely irritating?!?!?! I can't stand working out with him. he totally sucks. I'm still pushing play and going to finish p90x.(wish it would go faster so I could get this nut out of my living room). I really wish this program was only 63 days.

weight lifting hiatus
Life got in the way and I just took a 3 week break from lifting (traveling out of the country with no gym access, sinus infection with fever etc.) While I was traveling, I was still pretty active (30-50k steps a day, hiking, running etc). How do I know how heavy to lift at the gym tomorrow? How much strength have I lost? I…

Okay. I am totally putting off all of my grading right now and creeping around these forums like a crazy person. Sorry for all the chuckles posts. Butttt. I was looking at my book for stage two (which is still a few weeks away, but like I said, procrastination at its best). and I googled front squat push press. and this is…

seated row
Hi all, I am wondering about the seated row move. I finished workout A5? (started the 10 rep part) of stage one yesterday. I can always feel this move in my lower back. But my question is which clip thing do you use? I like to use the short bar or the double rope thing but all the videos show that weird triangle…

"Newbie gains" and progression
This is probably somewhere else. but I didn't know what to search for exactly. I have a question about how much/how often you upped your weights. I am JUST starting this program (3 workouts in). But on Monday when I started (first time in the weight room ever.) I squatted 65 lbs and The last 2 reps were tough. I was pretty…

FINALLYYYY
Today I did the first workout of stage one (1A). I have been terrified of the gym since december (when I bought the book!) but FINALLY did it. I bought my friend a guest pass to the gym (she lifted weights in high school so she was not nervous about the weight room at all) and we did the workout. and it was good!. I was…

paleo?
Hi There, I started my 30 day paleo challenge today. I'm concerned about getting enough calories. Is anyone else paleo out there that has any advice? I purchased avocados and nuts and some almond butter to help boost me through this. but as of today I'm feeling pretty satisfied and not even at 1500 net cals? Thanks in…

Chia seeds?
I've read mixed reviews on how paleo-"kosher" chia seeds are. Loren Cordain seems to be against, the primal guy Sisson seems to think they're okay. I'm probably going to eat them anyway, because Chia seed "pudding" makes me happy. But I was just curious on how others felt.

yum yum yum
Tonight I made a turkey meatloaf (onion, celery garlic, egg white, coconut oil, ground turkey) with parsley, paprika and pepper. I topped with with homemade tomato sauce (tomatoes, carrots, garlic, onion). Served with a side of sautéed kale with apples and asparagus in coconut oil topped with fresh lemon juice. I've got to…

day 2. i'm new
Hi all, I am on day 2 of my 30day paleo start. I'm going to do strict 30 days and then tweak it from there. So far so good. I got a little worried because I didn't get very many calories in yesterday. But I bought some almond butter, avocados, coconut oil and walnuts to try and fix that problem! I would love some paleo/…

skeptical
Hi all, I never plateaued. I was happily losing weight. then i found this group upped my cals and no budge for 2 1/2 weeks. (gained a few pounds!) I decided to stick with it and see if this is still good. As skeptical as I am right now.... I also started doing p90x-- so I'm attributing most of the gain to that..new muscles…

sorry if this is a repeat
Does anyone use sedentary for their TDEE and then eat back exercise calories? I have a HRM so I think I can get pretty accurate. How does this work for you? Have you done this and then switched? I ask because I have a fitbit. And my TDEE based on my fitbit is almost a direct match to scooby's site (yayyyy) for my sedentary…

Macros --YES! I did a search!
I am curious about macros. I try and hit them and usually I am pretty okay about it (40/30/30). But I'm wondering if it makes a huge difference between hitting it everyday and your daily pie graph work--- or if you have more carbs one day and less the next and your weekly totals equal out. Anyone try either way? Does it…

What in the world do you do with the other half?!?!
I oftentimes see in people's diaries (both on here and in other media places) that they log .5 of a banana or .5 of an apple. If you are one of these people...what do you do with the other half of the fruit? I have always been curious... I'm not calling anyone out or saying anything against only half servings of fruit. If…

DDP Yoga? Pros and cons?
I have been looking into the DDP yoga for a while. I have yet to meet anyone who has actually done it. I'm wondering if some folks here on MFP could shed some light?? I have taken a whole bunch of different yoga classes so I'm very familiar with the movements and have taken a few power yoga classes, so that's not what I am…

Insanity Accomplishment!
I am curious to know which parts of the workouts have you completed that made you feel effing awesome. Granted, I know each workout makes you feel like a superhero but are there any particular moves you really are stoked you've mastered. Here's mine... During month one...I was ecstatic when I could make it through all of…

Favorite Calorie Savers
There are SOOOOO many tricks to saving calories throughout the day. (Drink skim instead of 2% etc.) I want to know what your favorite ones are! The best one I have used (maybe too much! but I love it!!!!) is oatmeal flour. Grinding up oatmeal (blender, food processor, coffee grinder etc) and substituting for flour. I made…

Hi All, If anyone would like an extra friend for some motivation/support feel free to add me!! I've had MyfitnessPal for a while, but have just started holding myself accountable with it (within the last 3 months). I think some friends would keep me even more on track and I will reciprocate. :) I also have a FitBit if you…
