Favorite brand (non-see-through) leggings?
I am on the search for a legging that is not gonna break my bank but that I can bend over in at the gym without my *kitten* showing through. Any suggestions? Right now I just wear cotton leggings and shorts over top, but I'd like to get some better quality leggings so this is not necessary. EDIT: "kitten?" Oh FFS. lol My…

Help. Any fellow UC sufferers who also lift?
My diet for cutting fat, staying full, and building muscle seems to be directly contradictory to my diet for controlling my UC symptoms. I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis a few months ago. There are certain dietary changes I am supposed to implement, especially during a flare up, but they will sabotage my efforts to…

Fasting/Flushing for Medical Procedure- need ..er, encouragement
I have to fast on Monday, nothing but clear liquids, for a colonoscopy on Tues. To make matters worse, I have to do a Flush Prep. In short, I will not be able to eat AND I will prob crap my guts out. TO be honest, I am actually more concerned with the fasting part. I can eat or drink NOTHING after midnight. I finagled the…

"Why You Shouldn't Exercise to Lose Weight"
http://www.vox.com/2016/4/28/11518804/weight-loss-exercise-myth-burn-calories Extreme summarization of the above article: Essentially there are some 60 plus studies that seem to confirm exercise can, in the long run, be counterproductive to weight loss. This is most true in cases where a person does not much alter diet.…

Question about wrist wrapping for exercise
I have been having some sort of crazy immune response (I think) as seasonal allergies. At any rate, I break into hives multiple times a day and they usually go away within the hour, but anything that irritates my skin (like a bug bite or jewelry or even pressure for two long, like opening a can with a hand can opener) will…

Don't know how many of you use this product...
(sorry, I mean how many of you *HAVE used, since i don't think it's on the market anymore) but it is supposedly potentially dangerous. What do you all think? http://jobs.aol.com/articles/2014/04/18/sports-supplement-meth-like-fda/?icid=maing-grid7|main5|dl22|sec1_lnk3&pLid=466343

Shelf life of spices
I "inherited" some spices from my grandmother's kitchen, some of which have never been opened but are nonetheless obviously quite old (also consider that this particular grandparent passed away quite a few years ago anyhow, so obviously some of these are spices I don't use much in my regular cooking as they are still…

Becoming Pesco Veggie
I am giving serious consideration to becoming a pesco-veggo (still eat fish, cuz I loves me some sushi.) Mostly it would be for health reasons, as I have heart issues in my family, and despite all my exercise and calorie watching, my cholesterol is currently too high. I have also heard it really does help with body…

Loud people at the gym
I like watching the people on the Biggest Loser. They motivate me, because I feel like if they can do, I can definitely do it! That said, it's amusing to me to watch them smack talk each other to the cameras, as if they have it all figured out now. Today two teams that have hitherto trained apart, both shared the gym. One…

ISO of some No BS friends!
Hi guys... I've been on MFP for about a year and a half, probably, but I have probably less than ten friends. I guess I'm selective. Or picky. lol I have a low tolerance for drama in the newsfeed, excuses, and complaining (a little is okay, a lot is irritating...lol) I'm 32, 5' 2.5 inches and 135lbs. I don't want to lose…

Agave question
Been reading a lot lately how liquid agave in the most stores is basically gloried fructose, basically processed past the point of any health benefits. Now, I use a fairly small, as I don't like my green tea very sweet anyway, but I was disturbed to read we consumers have been deceived again about yet another thing we…

Fat vs Cal
I know there are "good" fats, like in some oils, and "bad" fats. I eat some of both. But I find even when I am under on spot on with my calories, I am over on fat. Is this bad for my weight loss?

*real beef?
Anybody know how the calories stack up for unprocessed "real" beef (as in, NOT grocery store crap, but stuff from my friend's butchered cow?) I know it's way less greasy when I cook it.

More reasons to exercise...
So in addition to wanting to gain stamina and lose a few pounds, today I got confirmation of what I have long suspected; when I got too many days without a HARD exercise, my tension migraines come back. Anyone else have similar problems if they slack off for more than a couple of days?

Really sucking at staying under my calorie goal lately...
...and need some support and ideas. :( In general, I have a problem with midnight snacking. I'm just not one of those people that can "stop eating" just because I'm out of calories, and I can't sleep if I'm hungry, so if I have to get up in the middle of the night (which is often, it seems) then I often have to eat a small…

Do you log even short segments of exercise?
Do you feel as if you haven't done enough if your workout session isn't long enough? I did 20 minutes of kickboxing and logged it, then moved on to dance, but stopped after about 4 minutes because my daughter wanted to play. Should I log that four minutes too, even though it was only like 20 calories? Also, if you do…

My New Invention: Low Calorie " Cheesecake" Cinnamon Toast
I am super psyched about my latest kitchen creation , and just wanted to share (not just put it in the data base.) It's pretty healthy and tastes enough like cheesecake to keep me happy when I want something sweet. It's quick and simple too. All you need is 1) 2 slices Healthy life 35 calorie wheat toast 2) Great Value (or…

Adding weights to HIIT
Today I did my elliptical HIIT with some weights, but there seems to be no way to account for the extra weight as far as calorie burning. My elliptical is not the sophisticated kind that can sense weight changes, so it says I still burned the same amount. Anybody have any ideas? I had to have burned more. Only ten minutes…

Today is PIZZA DAY!...
And I really need to torch some calories. (Preferably in the shortest amount of time...) Any suggestions?

Do you log your medicine?
I'm a little pissed to discover there are 93 calories in ONE dose of liquid NyQuil! That just put me over my limit for the day, and I didn't even know it!

How do I log Tabata (calisthenics)...?
Assuming I don't have a HRM... Do I just log them as vigorous calisthenics (and forget the afterburn?)

Ladies... do you overeat ...
...during that one week or so when your period starts? I've been HOPING my gradual weight loss won't suffer because for the past four days are so, I've been going way over my calorie goals almost every night. Do you also find you want to eat everything in sight during the start of your cycle?

Accelerate the process?
Hey guys. I'm feeling a bit disappointed. I have been doing this since November, and I have only lost four pounds. I realize according to the math I am only supposed to lose between half a pound to a pound a week depending on my settings... And I have been working out pretty religiously. Sometimes I go over my calorie goal…

Homemade "skillet" dishes
Hi guys... I'm pretty new to this thing, especially the calorie tracker. Here's my question: I often make dishes with whole foods like chicken breast or fish, brown rice, fresh veggies, and beans in an Olive oil spread or something similar. Usually I add each ingredient's calories to a list and add it all together to get a…

Customizing desired calorie intake?
Hi guys, I've been working out for months now. I feel stronger and my endurance is way up despite the fact that I still smoke lightly (I know, bad juju) but the weight loss is slow. However, I'm 5'2 and a half inches tall and weigh about 145 and MFP is saying I should only consume 1300 calories. Not only does that seem low…
