I know there are "good" fats, like in some oils, and "bad" fats. I eat some of both. But I find even when I am under on spot on with my calories, I am over on fat. Is this bad for my weight loss?

as long as you're under calories you will lose weight, I keep my fats around 60-90g year round, erections of the gods

but yeah you're better off eating nuts and stuff than mc donalds

Oh, for sure... factoring in chocolate or the occasional cookie or whatnot, most of my fat comes from chicken, oils, and dairy.

Considering that fat doesn't make you fat, the *calories* in fat are what makes you fat - meaning a calorie is a calorie is a calorie - as long as you're not consuming so much saturated/polyunsaturated fat that you're clogging your arteries, you're fine. You'll actually lose MORE weight by eating a higher ratio of fat to carbs, if the calories are equal. It's the whole principle behind Atkins and other low-carb diets.

fat gets stored right away as fat
carbs get stored right away as glycogen.

both are being constantly oxidized and used.

the more glycogen available, the less fat will be oxidized and vice versa.

Its easier to say calories in/out.
