Let this hot weather be your motivator!
I see a lot of posts about the hot, humid, muggy weather affecting runs. Let that be your motivator. Let this be your last summer where you HAVE to drag yourself outside in the heat to run to shed the pounds. :drinker:

Kraft mayonnaise dressing vs Miracle Whip
I went out and bought a bunch of low/no-fat mayos bc to see which one I like best. Kraft has a Miracle Whip and "mayonnaise dressing" and the mayo dressing has a label that says "new look, same taste.." I'm not a mayo eater, so can you tell me if these two products are the same thing or two completely different things.…

What's your running schedule like?
Just curious. Mine is sporadic. But, lately, it's been: SUN: Morning and night for 30 mins each MON: TUE: WED: THU: Morning and night for 30 mins each FRI: Morning for 30 mins SAT: Morning and night for 30 mins each

Do you run during cool down or do you just walk or stretch?
Do you run during cool down? I hate to waste time and spend the last five minutes just walking. So, I run at least one more interval. What about you?

This is scary. Woman dies of heart attack at gym
http://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local/Woman-Dies-Planet-Fitness-Gym-Long-Island-Bay-Shore-Worker-Fails-Respond-Lawsuit-Emily-Hamlin-213035521.html In the video, the woman appears to be thin. You just don't think that someone like her would have a heart attack. The article states that she had an undetected heart condition.…

Why do some stats show "timed"?
I don't know if I changed a setting or what, but for W1D2-W1D3, they have "(timed)" next to "C25K Week X Day X". I don't see it for the other levels, though. Is that only shown for certain levels?

Who's losing weight and eating carbs?
I love carbs a lot. Pasta, rice. Love it. Are you losing weight while eating a lot of carbs? What's your exercise routine like? About how many carbs are you eating a day? About how much do you lose a week? Thanks.

Plan, pre-log, don't overeat
I'm surprised to still see people saying that they are over their goal mid-day or are shocked to see that when they log at the end of the day, that they went over their calories. Well, a simple suggestion (and those who follow me are probably tired of reading this) is to plan your meals and pre-log them. That way, you can…

It feels like learning to ride a bike
I just realized the feeling that I have when I can run for longer periods of time. I imagine that it's the same feeling that people get when they learn how to ride a bike, when their parents let go and they're pedaling on their own. I can't remember how I felt when I learned how to ride a bike as a kid. But, I imagine that…

C25K and HRM
Is anyone using a HRM and C25K with the same stats (weight, height, age, gender, etc)? Are the workout results (cals) pretty close together? Which shows the higher number of calories? Which do you think is more accurate? Thanks.

How slow is too slow?
I know that we're supposed to pace ourselves, but how slow is too slow? If during the "run" segments, you're going slower than you were walking, is that bad? :\

Can I eat the min suggested cals & exercise some off?
I'm really struggling with deciding whether or not to eat the 1220 cals MFP suggested and eating more. I'm so confused and concerned about malnutrition. If I eat 1220 cals and then exercise off 200-400 cals, is that okay? Does your body lose nutrients when you exercise? I know that you may think that's a stupid question,…

Folding bike a tall, 230-lb woman can use around town
I'm looking for a sturdy folding bike that a tall, 230-pound woman can use for exercising around town. Do you have any recommendations? Thanks.

What did you start w, timed or distance?
I think that I'm going to start w the timed 90 walk/60 run plan, but what did you start with?

Lose 20 pounds a wk
That can't be safe. I just saw this ad on this site. http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/simgad/13993189416013919264

If you finish a "wk" early in the wk, what do you do?
Do you do multiple wks in a real wk or do you do just 1 a wk? I finished wk 1 today. On my next run, I may start off testing wk 2 and if it's too much, I will just end the workout doing wk 1 again. Or, this wk, I may just keep trying wk 2 until I've mastered it. What do you do when you finish a wk?

What do you do on days that you're not hungry?
I've only had about 300 cals today. I'm sure I can eat something later tonight, but certainly not 1,000 calories, unless it's something not really all that good for me. Do you force yourself to eat when you're not hungry? Will barely eating for a day every wk or so mess up my metabolism?
-
After you finish each day's plan, what do you do?...
Do you stop the app and continue w your "normal" workout, do you redo that day's plan, or do you continue to the next day's plan?

Best low or nonfat sharp cheddar
I don't eat a lot of cheese, but I'm guessing that it's sharp cheddar. I'm looking for something that tastes like Subway cheddar if possible. I just want it to be low or nonfat and presliced. Thanks.

Spinning without pain
I've heard stories of having pains in the butt while spinning (and I've tried it for a few seconds, so I know). Is there a method to using the bikes without pain? I also read that the pain goes away after a wk, but not bc it stops hurting, bc your legs get stronger and you don't have to rely on the seat anymore. Hopefully…

Did I overdo it or is this normal?
I can still feel my workout from Saturday, but it's not painful anymore. Sunday morning when I woke up, I could barely move my arms. Later in the day, I could barely walk and made the mistake of walking downstairs. Monday, shoulders were still sore. Today, my abs are still a little tender. I did an hour of Nike Training…

Working out diff body parts on diff days?
If you do strength training one day, do you HAVE to not do strength training on the same muscles the next day? I read somewhere that muscles build during that day of rest. Can you harm yourself from overdoing it 2 days in a row?

What to eat to help w low iron/weak during workout
I'm probably partially answering my own question here, but I'm pretty sure that I'm anemic. I had trouble even raising my legs to run in place bc I was so weak in my legs. What do you suggest that I eat before a workout to help with this?

HRM accuracy vs phone apps
I have a Sportline HRM and I used it for the first time while walking & jogging. For the walk, the calorie burned seemed very accurate (or at least very close to what 4 of my walking apps read). Later in the workout, it seemed to have shown double than what the apps read, and at one point, about a minute after I stopped…

"Jogging" about 2 mph vs walking
If I had to cover a quarter of a mile, I could do it faster just by walking fast than I would by jogging at a comfortable pace. But, will jogging at that pace help me increase my stamina or help me be able to run faster and longer? That is what my goal is.

Has your palate changed?
Are you eating different foods, especially foods that you didn't like before you started dieting? I'm making myself eat yogurt for breakfast each morning bc I either eat an unhealthy greasy breakfast from McD or Whataburger, or I don't eat breakfast at all. So, I'm just replacing that w a fruit/yogurt parfait from McD.

Do you take consecutive rest days?
Do you take consecutive rest days? What's your schedule like or is it just whatever you feel like? I normally walk for an hr or two every morning, and take a day off towards the end of the wk when I'm more tired, and then walk for a bit longer on Sat & Sun. I took yesterday and today off bc I was still tired by the time I…
