I've heard stories of having pains in the butt while spinning (and I've tried it for a few seconds, so I know). Is there a method to using the bikes without pain? I also read that the pain goes away after a wk, but not bc it stops hurting, bc your legs get stronger and you don't have to rely on the seat anymore. Hopefully that's not true and there's a way to not have pain while riding the bike. Is this possible?

I spin several times a week and have been doing so for 2 years now. I dont recall,my butt ever hurting. Granted, in the beginning i had a lot more cushioning "back there". With that said, all my spin instructors seem to have a good balance between being in the saddle and out. I think people forget how important using your core muscles are in spin. Keep your abs tight and strong and it will help stabilize you in the seat. You can get a special gel seat or bike short with padding in them, but i never much cared for them. I guess just give it time to get used to it!
