Calling all dudes! What's your daily calorie budget!
What up guys! I'm back on the wagon and I wanted to see if anyone else's plan is anything like mine? Trying to lose 2 lbs a week and I want to eat 2000 calories and I'm between light and moderate activity with at least 10,000 steps a day. I'm 5'8 and 240. Despite my calorie budget seeming totally reasonable, I feel like…

For the first time,i'm asking for help. I need friends!
I'm not used to being around so many positive smart people. Your positivity is contagious and i want more of it! I've gone through falling off the wagon then back on then off...now i'm back on it and i need a good system of good people to be there to support me so i can really make the lifestyle change stick. I need you…

How long does it take a pound of fat to form in the body?
Just wondering. If I were to eat a 3500 calorie meal right now, does the fat instantly add a solid pound to me or does it take awhile to get all over my body to make me fat? If I ate 7000 calories would I instantly be 2 lbs heavier in fat? Funny question. Was just wondering this at 5 o clock in the morning

I want to cry - a million day ones
I feel like I can't do this. This is the single most important thing I can do in my life and I can't do it. I started this in march and did awesome for about a month and then lost 10lbs, then I started making excuse after excuse and the weight came back plus a little more and...god dammit... Every single day I start so…

Who else is an excuse maker that needs rules? A confession
I feel like such an idiot even admitting this, but I have made a firm rule that I can only check my weight once a week. I'm such an excuse maker, I can't handle seeing my weight. How ridiculous is that? If it's a couple days of dieting and I haven't lost weight, I'll say "well it's not working. I'll eat a really bad junk…

What nsv are you most looking forward to?
For me it's being able to go out and buy some clothes I look good in! And pulling up my pants and not having any stomach flab over it. I can't even remember the last time I had that.

any good books i can read about the science of our bodies?
And how they work? I can only read so many forum posts where people dispute the same common stuff! I need to read something else. What do you guys recommend?

Can you determine activity level based on steps alone?
Just wondering. Awhile back when I got started here I was trying to figure out my daily activity level so I could update my profile. Wouldn't steps be a good measure of daily activity? If I get my 10,000 isn't that a solid "lightly active"? Maybe even moderate? What would you set the steps for for each level of activity?

A 5lb weight fluctuation from a few hot dogs?! Wow
Wow. I weighed myself before eating and I was 237 lbs so I figured I'd eat just enough to stay at my maintenance calories for the day since I got so much exercise. I ate a few Costco Kirkland brand hot dogs and damnnnnn. I know I shouldn't be worrying myself over weight fluctuations but damnnnnn. I used to be obsessive…

Why do my exercise calories keep going up and down?
I worked this morning and when I got home I had 350 exercise calories. I go to sleep and wake up and now I only have 50. Why did it go down? It's like all that work I put in this morning didn't count! This is all syncing with my fitbit one btw

I couldn't eat my cheat meal
I've been dieting seriously for only a week with fitness pal eating low calories foods every single day. Today I decided since I did so well, I'd have a cheat meal. Well i had the usual at jack in the box. An ultimate cheeseburger meal with large fries and a coke and a 20 piece nugget. A couple weeks ago, I would've been…

Anyone else love the healthy choice and lean cuisine meals?
I started my diet and calorie counting by eating these and they make it so easy by tasting so damn good. Can't believe I didn't try these sooner. I just assumed since it says healthy on the box it must taste like crap

Newbie needs help getting set up
Sooo, i love this already! While my girlfriend is on vacation, this is a fun little project for me to occupy my time and i'm loving the crap out of it. I've never been so conscious of the food i was putting in my mouth until i downloaded the app. So i made a post a couple days ago about what my activity level should be and…

Is my daily routine sedentary or lightly active?
So, I didn't think this would be so hard to figure out. I'm a caregiver at an adult family home and I work a 12 hour night shift. Of those 12 hours, I'd say I'm on my feet walking back and forth doing things for about 4 solid hours. I have an hour of cleaning and another 3 hours of preparing people for the day, which…
