20 years Air Force
What's up Brother Vets? I retired from the Air Force in 1997. I was in Desert Storm. My career field was telecom and that's still what I do. I'm a Recruiter, these days. I went in at 185 lbs in 1977. Today, I'm at 292. I was up to 335 before I regained some sanity. I've been stuck at 290, give our take, for a year now, and…

Walking as one of the keys to losing weight
I've been walking a lot lately, trying to hit the 10,000 steps per day that you hear so much about. I've gotta say that it's been great! The only hard part is finding the time so, I started eating lunch at my desk then walking during lunch time. I try to walk every day and on the days that I take my walks, I just kind of…

Small Weight Loss Hacks
What little things do you do every day that are "drop in the bucket" type activities? I park at the far end of my office parking lot. This adds about 600 steps a day, 50 extra calories. I also climb 4 flights of stairs to use the toilet. This burns about 30 extra calories per trip. What tricks do you use?

Back Once Again!
Well, it's me again, back for another try at becoming a normal sized man. One thing has changed, my starting weight this time around was 335. I'm down 16 lbs in the first two weeks so I'm off to a good start. Would that all of the excess lbs would leave as easily as the first 10. Still, action is required! The cute little…

Nutella
I don't get it. It's too sweet, gooey and kinds of like peanut butter except it's too sweet and gooey. Maybe I'm just not doing it right but, I don't understand the fuss over Nutella. I've tried smearing it on toast but... So, what's the attraction?

Why ius MFP Telling Me to Increase Calories?
I've been working the program faithfully for a little over 3 weeks and dropped 19 lbs so far. When I initially restarted my profile, I entered weight as 335, Height 6', 1", 55 years old, Male, Lightly Active, 2 lbs per week. I didn't drop any weight this week, not really a big deal but perhaps my profile needs some fine…

My Plateau
In nature, a plateau is a very large, area that is higher than the surrounding terrain. It differs from a mesa, a flat topped mountain, because of the acreage involved. For example, the Edwards Plateau covers most of west central Texas; it is bigger than most north eastern states and, and contains in whole or in part,…

DJ's Salisbury Steak with Marsala Mushroom Gravy
My wife made up this recipe to help me on this diet. It tastes great! There is almost no fat from the hamburger meat and you cam always wipe it out of the pan if you so get some. The wonderful brown gravy has no fat and this dish fills the house with a mouthwatering smell. A family favorite! 245 calories per serving.…

Hello from Markja
Hello to All: I'm the guy who has lost about 500 lbs, but, its always the same 5 or 10 lbs over and over again! Can ya relate? Anyway, I'm 53, "morbidly obese" (what a charming title!) and hoping that I'll be able to drop 100 lbs over the next year. OK, I'm wildly optimistic but, I was in the Air Force many years ago and…
