Looking for fellow streakers
No. Not that streaking. I'm looking for other streak runners. I'm currently on RSD 156. I find that I sometimes have trouble running and staying under my calories. Granted, this only happens when I don't choose my meals properly. Question: Do you go over your calories just to have fuel for exercise?

Celebrating in a big way
To help celebrate my success over the last 16 months, I decided to do something big. I signed up for a 2 day charity bike ride in August. Please check out my story as well as what the ride is all about at http://shmulyengelman.com

Trouble sitting after weight loss
Now this might be a slightly weird question. Has anyone else had trouble sitting for an extended period of time after losing weight? Ever since I lost my weight I cannot sit for more than half an hour without feeling discomfort. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem.

How many calories in a Sufganiyah (Chanukah Doughnut)
For those that might stumble across this thread that are not familiar, this is nothing like a regular doughnut. I've seen estimates ranging from 400 - 600 calories. Does anyone have any educated guess?

So you think you destroyed your weight loss plan yesterday
For all of you that are beating yourselves up for going over your calories yesterday, please stop. The success of sticking to any weight loss plan (or any plan, for that matter), is being able to enjoy the journey. If you restrict yourself too much, you will start resenting it. Going over by a few hundred calories once a…

Breaking the fast
This is the first fast since I started watching what I eat (actually, the first one was Friday night so it doesn't count). Until now, breaking my fast was with cake and juice. Obviously, that's out. Any ideas?

Next challenge
Before we wrap up this challenge, I would like to propose a new challenge. Since several of us are at or close to goal weight, the weight loss component becomes less relevant. I'm thinking along the lines of a workout challenge. Workouts can be measured in calories, time worked out per week, days worked out per week, etc.…

Challenge wrap up
As this challenge is coming to an end, I found myself thinking that it's pretty much over for me since I probably won't make my challenge goal. Last night I was debating whether to go out for a run since it was pretty late (11PM). At the end I pushed myself and actually had a great run. While running I decided to make a…

Help setting goal weight
I'm well into losing the weight I've been carrying my whole life. My trouble right now is figuring out what should be my goal weight. I'm a 5'11" male and 39 yrs old. I know this isn't really enough to set a proper goal weight. I know there are different builds that will obviously affect my ideal weight. For what it's…

Sleep position after weight loss
Now here's a new problem. Ever since I lost lots of weight, I find that my old sleep position is no longer comfortable. I'm struggle to get comfortable. I often wake up with soreness in my back and arms. Has anyone else faced the same issues?

Clothes Shopping NSV
I finally bought myself a new suit yesterday. Waist size down to 38 (started at 52). It felt really good. Also, my kids dared me to try on my son's shorts (he's 13). It didn't quite "fit" but it went on.

Weigh in - May 30th
I will get this started a day early since I won't be home tomorrow morning to weigh in. I finally hit the yellow zone in the BMI chart. I can proudly say I am overweight! Now the hard work of getting to the green zone begins. I don't know why but I managed a 2 pound loss this week. Maybe it's the amount of biking I'm…

Celebrating my birthday
One more year in the books. But what a year it's been. Birthdays are typically when one looks back at the past year and makes resolutions for the coming year. On June 2nd 2013, there's no way I saw this coming. Yes, I've resolved to lose weight many times in my life and even lost some several times. Last year, it wasn't…

MFP on CNN

Any runners out there that started biking
I'm a fairly new runner (long run is 10K) and I want to get into biking. Based on advice from friends and bike shop, I will be starting with a road bike (I live in the city). I plan on riding 3 times a week, not counting my 2 mile commute to work. Any advice on how to get started would be appreciated. Specifically: How…

310 pounds to running a 10K in 6 months
6 months ago I looked at the scale and saw 310. I finally decided it's time to do something about my weight and general lifestyle. Several of my siblings had lost weight over the months and years before that so I decided to join them on MFP. I started the first day (October 20th 2013) with walking a few miles and logging…

Personal Trainer
I finally signed up at a gym last week. I met with one of the personal trainers there and went through a brief workout. It made me realize how badly I needed to work with a trainer. I really liked the trainer and would sign up with him. Here's the problem. At first, he wanted me to commit to a 12 month program for at least…

Pesach Goodies Recipes and Ideas
Today I was discussing with my wife what I will snack on over Pesach. In the past it was mostly home made cake and deserts. Since I prefer to eat homemade food on Pesach, any ideas would be appreciated.

Great NSV when out shopping
I went to get myself a new coat. Walking in the the store, the salesman asks me what size I am. When I replied that I have no clue, he looks at me all frustrated and asks what size I bought last. I replied that my last coat was a 54 but I'm not that size anymore. He muttered under his breath something like "he's so…

3rd Mar Weigh in
Getting an early start to next week's weigh in since I will be on vacation. I hope vacation doesn't mess up my progress. I will try logging everything but I suspect will be going over my limit on a couple of days.

24th Feb Weigh In
It's that time of the week again :) I reached my goal! My week's been pretty good. The weekend not so good. But the net is a solid 3 pound loss. I'll probably adjust my goal by a few pounds to keep myself in the challenge.

Good Problem!
I finally have to go out to get some new clothes. I will be flying in 2 weeks. Going through security without a belt and my hands spread wouldn't be a pretty picture. As my mother said, "make sure you're wearing nice underwear" :) I haven't measured but based on my belt, I think my waist is down about 8".

My latest NSV
I don't want to call this a success story yet but it definitely qualifies as an NSV. Last night, on day 103 of my journey, I weighed in with a loss of 60 pounds. This was my first official goal. I also ran my first sub 30 minute 5K. Could not have done it without the support of my MFP friends!

New version of spreadsheet
We made some changes to the spreadsheet to make it easier to enter you weight and see a summary of the results. You will now see a new tab labeled Summary. This tab is all automatically calculated and should never be edited manually. All weigh-ins should be entered on the month's tab. Every week we will sort the summary…

Strength Program
I searched and didn't find any posts here to answer my question. I recently started running using the C25K program. I will complete it by the end of this week. I know I will need some strength training as part of my weight loss goal. My question is, do I continue with just running for now (move on to the bridge to 10K) or…
