Sharing my NSV!
So today I got to reap a reward for this whole losing weight/getting healthy thing! My son is nonverbal delayed autistic. He is also a runner, so any chance to slip away and run he does. Instead of yelling to him to stop, today, I ran along with him. He smiled, giggled and flapped his hands the whole way. It was awesome!

Looking for zucchini recipes
My zucchini plant has gone crazy! I've gotten 8 zucchinis off it already and it's the beginning of July. I gave some away but as I'm trying really hard not to make a zucchini cake, I need some ideas. We grilled some but I was the only one that really liked it. So what's your favorite way to use up zucchini? Thanks!!

Road trip snacks?

My 10 min mile!
Some reason I thought W7D3 was too easy. So today I started week 8 with the goal of running faster. Thinking a 10 min mile by the end of the week would be awesome. Thinking about doing a triathlon...
Where do I start? I have been losing weight swimming and doing C25K and for fun I pull my son on the bike. So I have some experience with all 3. I can swim over a mile and I'm starting week 8 and running ~3 miles. Biking I do recreationally so I've never tracked it. Has anyone done a triathlon and have pointers for me?

Take that week 7!
Woohoo! W7D3 is done. And today I decided I was going to run for 3 laps(2.7 miles) even if it took longer than the 25 mins. So I made it and ran for an even 30 mins! Crazy!! So I guess now I just need to speed it up! Oh and with my warm up/cool down, I finally made 3.1 miles!

How in the world did I get this far?! 7 weeks ago the walk was killing me. Today I ran 25 mins and walked 15(warmup, cool down). 2 months ago, it seemed like running would be impossible and now I look forward to it! I'm still slow but I've got 3 weeks to speed things up!!

NSV! Ran in the rain!
I didn't get my run in this morning so I figured I'd do it tonight. It started raining at 5ish and hasn't stopped, so I waited until the rain slowed and went out and ran! Like really ran! W6D3! It's the 4th of July! RUN!
Happy 4th of July! Don't skip your run because it's a holiday, you'll want those extra calories for the BBQs :-) I got my W6D2 in!!

Tips for a Healthy 4th of July(or any BBQ)
Share your tip! Mine: Avoid any mayo based salad...Just a good rule of thumb, never know how long they've been sitting there and they have all those extra calories for you. And drink water, chances are you're thirsty in the sun :-)

now run 20 minures straight...
And I did! W5D3 goes down! Minutes 3, 11 and 16 were th:wink: e worst but I picked spot in the distance and figure if i made it there I could walk and I was always better at that point so i didn't walk! Now that i know I can do that I can run this whole program is going down!

skipped W5D1...
And went straight to W5D2. Didn't realize it until I was done and thought, "I'm supposed to have one more walk and one more run" So I guess 5 min run, 3 min walk would have been easier than 8 min run and 5 min walk. Yayyy! I did it anyway. So now what? Do I repeat W5D2 or do I just move to W5D3? I'm not scared of W5D3 now…

Week 4 is history!
Just finished week 4 day 3! It seemed alot harder than day 2 but I took a harder route so i guess that makes sense! I'm excited for week 5! This is weird to me to like running!

Eating well on 100 degree days.
What do you do? I'm okay if there is one or 2 hot days in a row but more and I'm out of ideas. If it was just me, I'd do salads and smoothies and be good but I've got to cook for the family with leftovers for my husband to take to work for lunch. So please share, what are your favorite 100 degree day foods?

Pandora is on my Sh*tlist!
Last night I ran late, W1D3, I'm so proud of myself, so it was dark. I've just been playing Pandora with my C25K app. It played "Every Breath You Take!" Grrrr! I was freaked out by every shadow, bunny and flickering light along my run. I gave the song a thumbs down!

headphones for running
I'm just started my journey, w1d1, this morning(I'm beat!). And I spent the entire time fighting with my headphones, they kept slipping! Any advice on what kind I should get or how I can keep them from slipping? I'm broke right now so I don't want to spend too much but I'm not giving up because of stupid headphones either!…

I did it!
I did flip turns while swimming today. Okay my timing was all off and I got a nose full of water 2x but I attempted it! Last time I did flip turns was 14 yrs ago. Hopefully my timing gets better :-) Had to share!!

My great news this morning!!
I'm down 25 pounds!!!! A quarter of the way to my goal!! I started really focusing on this 1/10 so just over 2 months and I've lost 25 lbs! I'm just so happy right now I have to share!!!
