My Doc wants me to lose a small amount of weight and lower my a1c ( 6.0 pre diabetic ). Anyway, ive been losing weight because im counting calories and doing alot of cardio,…

How do you log uneaten calories?
Maybe i am not seeing it, but how do you tell the difference between calories burned and calories not eaten? If i burn 1000 calories over my goal and i also ate 1000 colories less then the allowed calories, where is it logged? Do i have to manually go back to the start of the week and total them up at the end of the week?

Anyone have a Treadclimber tc100?
So ive had this thing for a few years, barely used it. When i first got it the first thing i noticed was when taking a foot off one of the treadles while walking, the shock on that side would close and make a loud knock/bang sound. I called Bowflex and they sent me new shocks but no real answer to why other then probably…

What is wrong with MFP diet/fitness profile?
Its seems no matter how many days/min i choose for weekly workout it doesnt change how many pounds per week or how many pounds in a month i will lose. It seems the only thing that seems to change how many pounds you will lose is your normal daily activities. This doesn't work for me because my job requires both deskjob,…

Beer helps lose weight.
Drinking beer while riding stationary bike helps lose weight, and this is why..... Alcohol makes the boring seem somewhat fun, so you exercise longer..... Alcohol converts to sugar, so it gives your body a energy boost and helps you exercise longer..... Thank me later, and drink responsibly. That is all. Cheers.

How accurate is continuous heart rate burn?
Ive posted a few times about how my hrm is giving me lowcal burn results randomly. Its a suunto t3c with realtime continuous heart rate monitoring via chest strap. Today for example. I ran 8 mph non stop for 100 minutes. I used hand weights to swing my arms keeping my heart rate between 168-180. It not drop below 165 at…

What burns more calories?
160 full minutes of non stop cardio exercise, or 16, ten minute non stop cardio exercises spaced out throughout the day? For arguments sake, will say 10 minutes every half hour for 8 hours. My theory is spacing it out keeps your body active, where someone might be sedentary most of the day.

WTF is wrong with my HRM?
I have had my suunto t3c hrm for a few years and recently it randomly gives me a way way off calorie burn. Most of the time its pretty accurate with online heart rate calculators. I frequently check the monitor to make sure im staying within range of 160-175bpm and today for example, my average hr was 165bpm for 45…

Long vs short cardio workout?
I usually try to grind out long cardio workouts. Lately i have been doing short stationary bike workouts. 10 minute vigorous 23/mph level 4. I noticed that i can get atleast 6 or more of these short workouts a day without any effect on my knees and barely breaking a sweat. My question, is this effective for calorie burn?…

Calorie carry over
I had a pretty big deficit yesterday and got to thinking about how long you can hold onto extra calories before they no longer exist? I usually give myself a 3 day window. Just wondering how long others give themselves to use extra calories up.

Ready to smash my HR monitor!
I have a pretty top notch suunto t3c. Its about as accurate as you can get aside from medical equipment. I normally keep a steady pace of around 160-170 bpm, which translates to around 800-900 cal per hour at my body weight of 150. So today im pushing myself hard and after 60 minutes it says 532 cal! So i check my average…

Need Ideas for strength/weight training during cardio.
Cardio (running) is my thing. But i think i need to start adding some muscle. Ive pretty much reached the point where no matter how fast I run, I barely get my hr up or break a sweat. I started adding a weight vest and two 5lb hand weights which do help but im looking for other ideas to raise my hr up while running and…

2000cal burn today
I did some HIIT on my treadmill for an hour, then switched to my exercise bike for 30 min of HIIT, still had some energy left so took a 1 1/2 hour walk. HRM cal calc says i burned 2000 calories in those 3 hours. Ive been maintaining for awhile and i think im actually in a deficit this week. Part of me wants to save those…

Anybody else out there that skips breakfast?
I know they say this is the most important meal of the day but....Frankly, I am not hungry in the morning, and feel like i would be forcing myself to eat something. However, I can not sleep without eating a small bowl of raisin bran, or multigrain cheerio's with FF milk before bed. I just consider it a really early…

do you count additional weight in calorie burn caculators?
I am using a heart rate monitor to get average bpm and calculating my actual weight which is 160lb, do i also count additional weight from a weight vest? In a 60 minute run/walk/climb workout my bpm average is 155 for that hour. I am using 160lb as my weight when calculating, but i am also wearing a 15lb weight vest for a…
