Numbers not adding up
**EDITED TO ADD STATS*** Hello everyone! Looks like I am in the dreaded plateau portion of my journey. I'm down to the last 15-20 pounds, and have been stuck at the same relative weight for several months now. I wear a body media fit, and journal pretty good. I may not get every single calorie, but over the long term I am…

NSV - A little reward for myself
After a year and a half and 90+ pounds lost, I decided it was time for a little reward for myself. I wanted something to remind me where I came from, and where I am going. It is Latin for "Life is not living, but living well",…

NSV - Mudslide mud run!
A local ski resort (Holiday Valley) hosted it's first annual Mudslide mud run this past Saturday, and wow was it a blast! They split it into two races, a 3.5 mile downhill and a 5.4 mile with a significant uphill portion. I wound up signing up for the 5.4 mile even though the longest consecutive run I have ever done was 4…

NSV - 2012 Corporate Challenge
I signed up for the 2011 Corporate Challenge last year, just after a few months of my new lifestyle. I was still weighing in at a hefty 243 pounds, and running wasn't really a word that was frequently used in my vocabulary yet. I decided I would still take up the challenge, and at least run what I could and walk the rest.…

Week 1 stats and success!
Well, I have to say this first week was great! I was never hungry, my energy level in the gym was through the roof! I was able to push out higher reps and weights in just about every exercise. I ran my fastest 3 mile run yet, and beat my old 1 mile pace! Oh yeah, and the scale moved in the right direction for the first…

Gotta love the WHOOSH effect!
I can't prove that the whoosh effect is real, but I'll be damned if it didn't happen to me last night/today! All day yesterday I felt squishy. I noticed that when I undressed at night, I had an indent in my skin from where my pants sat. They aren't tight on me, and I never had that indent. So my curiosity got the better of…

Holy Schmoley!
Hello everyone! I just joined this group after trying to find ways to break my plateau. I had great success for the first year of my journey, and dropped 90 pounds. However, since February I have been bouncing the same 5 or so pounds around. I decided to take my last month or so numbers from my Body Media, and bump it up…

Realistic?
Hi everyone! Was hoping to get some feedback on whether or not this goal is realistic. I've never been in the situation where I could actually target a body fat target, so this is all alien to me! I have a target date of July 18th (First day of Jamboree in the Hills!) that I would like to do this by. Now I realize that…

Little self motivation
Hello, As I near 60 pounds lost since Feb, I feel it's time I put another progress pic up. I bartend at a beach club, but never had the beach body to go along with that. I won't quite reach it this year, but looking at pics from last year to pics taken this year I may just have that body by next year! 2010 Season 2011…

NSV - Ran my first race!
I am proud to say I completed the Chase Corporate Challenge 3.5 mile race today, which also happened to be my first race. It's crazy to think that I started the c25k program only 8 weeks ago, and could barely run the 60 seconds. Goes to show a little determination and a lot of sore feet can really accomplish something!

c25k stalling
Hello, Has anyone else had there progress completely stalled on the c25k program? I was never what you would call a runner, so it's not like I am building back up to running. The first few weeks were tough, but I was always able to move up to the next level pretty much right on pace. But now I am stuck on week 5 for the…

Scale Vicorty and Things That Grind My Gears!
Had a nice scale victory this morning. Hit 40 pounds lost and officially out of the 250s! And now for the rant! I work a seasonal job as a bartender. We just recently opened for the year, so there has been a lot of encounters with people that I have not seen me since my new lifestyle has begun. I have received quite a few…

BodyMedia Fit usage and MFP numbers
Hello, I have been using the BodyMedia Fit band for a few weeks now, and have started to collect enough data to question a few things. My biggest question is, should I use MFP's numbers, or should I trust what the BodyMedia is telling me. MFP has me at 1730 calories per day net. BodyMedia has me at 1950. But my actual…

8 weeks in, a lifetime to go! (56k warning, big pics)
Here are my week 8 results so far. Mostly been doing Power 90, c25k, and HIIT trainings. This will be my first attempt at animated gifs, so I hope it works! I noticed a change in how my clothes have been fitting, but didn't really see the difference until now! Front Side Back

Food scales - Get one!
Well I finally broke down and bought a food scale. And all I can say is it taught me how bad of a guesstimator I really am! I would never be a good employee at those carnival guess you weight games! Apparently what I thought was 3oz of meat, was in fact more like 1.5oz. And my cereal bowl was way too empty! The serving…

How to track exercise w/ Body Media Fit
Hello, I just started using a Body Media Fit yesterday, and I'm curious as to how to track exercise properly on here now. According to my workout manager on the Fit, I burned 379 calories doing an hour of P90 Sculpt 3-4 and treadmill work. If I plug in an hour of circuit training on MFP, it says I would have burned almost…

Hello Healthy World!
I've been on this site for a few weeks now, but never really took advantage of the wonderful community available here. So I figured what the heck, I'll fill out my profile, take my jacket off, and stay awhile! This site has been amazing so far, and with it I have accomplished way more than I ever thought possible in just…

Dangit!! Dangit!! Dangit!!
I have been kicking some serious butt these past 25 days and have made good progress. But I went ahead and did it. I hurt my foot yesterday. Today was the first time I wasn't able to work out and I feel guilty not doing it. Any ideas as to what someone with a bum foot can do to get some exercise? Or should I just relax for…

First NSVs!
I finally had some noticeable NSVs this morning. I weighed in, and MFP asked me if I wanted to adjust my stats since I lost weight. Also, had to wear a belt with my work pants to keep them from falling off. Sometimes it's hard to see the day to day changes going on with your body, but sometimes things click and make the…
