I have been kicking some serious butt these past 25 days and have made good progress. But I went ahead and did it. I hurt my foot yesterday. Today was the first time I wasn't able to work out and I feel guilty not doing it. Any ideas as to what someone with a bum foot can do to get some exercise? Or should I just relax for a few days and just really watch the food intake?
Difficulty: no gym membership and no free weights.

Thanks!

TRUST ME!!!!! FORGET ABOUT WORKING OUT FOR NOW!!!!! just eat well and maintain any progress. and let your body heal completely because if not you will jst keep re injuring the same spot and your life would be hell! so rest well and enjoy it....lots of vitamin C will help with the healing. Good luck...

SOurcE: i just hurt my kneee and kept exercising, now i havent run in 5 weeks!!!! it doesnt hurt but i know its not fully healed.

Work your arms and core instead of legs. And keep an eye on your food.

Around 3 weeks into my weight loss, I sprained my right ankle and just nursed it for the next 3-4 weeks as it healed. I just stayed on the recumbents, so I could keep up with my cardio, and worked upper body.

Don't be stubborn. Rest for a few days. You could really injure yourself further if you don't. Someone suggested sticking to upper body stuff - good idea!

Thanks for the ideas. As of right now I cannot really put pressure on it. I really pushed myself yesterday on the elliptical, and let's just say my shoes are less than ideal. So I'm hoping it's just a irritated tendon or something along those lines.

Where does it hurt specifically? Bottom of the foot, top of the foot, ankle, heel?

    RICE
    Rest
    Ice
    Compression
    Elevation

    Have you seen a Dr?

Ouch that sounds really sore. Make sure you rest it, like everyone has said. If it gets worse you may need to get it checked out. In the meantime eat right and put that foot UP! Look after yourself and you will be back on track as soon as possible.

Breathing Exercise: suck in your belly, shoulders back (basically proper posture)... If you breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth, you should begin to feel your stomach muscles being worked. I found that here: http://www.fitnesstipsforlife.com/breathing-exercises.html

Pelvic Tilt: This one was actually taught by my Physical Therapist (recovering from car accident). You can find tons of information online on how to do it if you aren't sure. The pelvic tilt is an exercise to build the core muscle.

    Hope it helps some.

Top of the foot, 3rd or 4th Metatarsal area. Foot has been up since I got home. Not sure if I should ice it since it's not swollen.
