How is it going?
Just thought I would check in to see how everyone is doing... Me personally, things got off track last month, but going better now. I have struggled with my hunger/appetite, which is NOT supposed to be an issue in the Zone, but for me it is always a struggle until my hormones/insulin levels get settled in.

Any Zone Diet fans out there?
Perhaps this might be more appropriate as a "group" topic, but I am just wondering if anyone is out there using the Zone as their diet strategy? If so, please post, it would be neat to be able to connect with those who are following a similar approach/lifestyle. Thanks!

Sugar on 60 Minutes
Did anyone see this on 60 Minutes? http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=7403942n I believe it aired in early April. I posted the video link on the Zone Diet website forums, and got some very interesting comments (so interesting that the forum moderator decided to delete most of the comments on the thread--ugh!) What I…

New Group
I would like to invite all those who are following the Zone Diet to join this new group. Even if you are not specifically following the Zone, but are trying to make smart carb choices, follow a similar 40-30-30 plan, follow some sort of carbohydrate restriction, this group is for you! Even if diet types clash, I think we…

Classic Zone or Zone 1-2-3?
What kind of Zone plan do you follow? Classic Zone? or Zone 1-2-3? I follow Classic Zone, I have counted blocks for years. However, I have come to realize that just counting blocks does not guarantee that I am staying within my calorie allowance. And, am not the strictest of zoners, and I allow myself to "cheat" now and…

net calories
I bet this is a common question, but I just re-started myself on MFP a few weeks ago. I am confused about the "net calories". I know the importance of eating my 1200 calories, but my question is regarding the "extra" calories that I earn from exercise. Do I need to eat those additional calories? My BMR is calculated at…

struggling with my appetite
Anyone have some suggestions on how to curb my appetite? I am following 1200 cals, most of the time I sneak up over that, because I am still hungry. I am meeting my protein and fat needs, I am getting at least 20 grams of fiber each day. I don't eat junk food. For instance, this morning I had a bowl of oats (not instant)…

COMING BACK
I am not new here, but it has been quite awhile since I last visited. I noticed that my MFP journal was last filled in 11 months ago! So, I imagine it has been that long! Same ol' thing, here to lose some weight. I was diagnosed with an abnormal glucose tolerance, and my doctor says I need to lose about 30 pounds to reduce…

New to this, not new to dieting...
Hi, just wanted to report in and introduce myself. I am a 45 year old mother of 3 (4 if you count my hubby), full time nurse. I am working on losing about 40 pounds. I am 5'1" and weigh 160#. I have been trying to shed a total of 50 pounds for 6 years, which was around 1 year after the birth of my 3rd child. Initially, I…
