When Games Go Free to Play...
MMOs that have both paying and non-paying players offer the chance to participate, even if you're on a tight budget. With that said, there is a hard truth to keep in mind...

Life After Death Note (Major Spoiler Alert)
There I was, sitting on the couch next to my wife. I was scrolling through Netflix when my wife said, "Go back one? Let's try that." Shortly thereafter, my life changed. Let me say simply, the show was incredible. So many things done so well, it reminded me a lot of how I felt when I watched Champloo for the first time.…

To The Ladies From A Husband
I have spent the better part of two weeks on this site, reading posts and profiles, and making my observations. I go home and spend time with my wife and I can see, in both words and expressions, her in some of these profiles and it resonates. I cannot speak for every man, and know that this is my humble opinion; and one I…

Keep Going Further
Today I ran 3 miles. My last milestone was hitting 2 miles 2 weeks ago. Different trail, continued improvement, and the same constant encouragement and involvement of my brother. Next time, I'm shooting for 5. My achievement is only tempered by the burning in my legs. My legs really hurt.

Greek Yogurt For Breakfast
Yesterday I had yogurt for the first time and hated it. Some friends gave me some ideas, and two stand out. Honey and cinnamon. Never mind the dark chocolate chips, those were in it yesterday too, and the granola gave it a satisfying crunch but wasn't enough to override the flavor profile. A liberal amount of cinnamon and…

Been a Decade Since I've Been Inside A Gym
My wife signed me in as a free guest last night at Planet Fitness. My last gym visit was at the beginning of our marriage at the then Fitness Connection. I was nervous, intimidated, and sweating before I even stepped on the treadmill. I ended up doing a 1.5 run coupled with a start up walk, a midway walk, and a cool down.…

Blood, Glory, and Celery Sticks
This past Friday was DnD night. Our party was starting a new adventure right on the heels of last week's 2 part episode that saw us kill a young dragon, plunder a subterranean prison, and lose a much loved NPC to a vicious bug bear attack. Friday's chapter started off with a bang. Getting lost in an ancient forest,…

1 Month Done, 10 LBS Gone
Not much of a success story, but more like a success chapter. I started this year with an attempt to change a lot. I've managed to overcome my #1 adversary, myself. Dark MagJam has tried to give up and has been known to say quite often "you weren't so bad before..." That being said, I have lost 9 lbs and change, enjoy the…

I'm Running Out of Food
Not sure if anyone else is having this problem but with pay day tomorrow, I'm beginning to mentally prepare for the trip to the grocery store. My issue is that I will drop $100 tomorrow and have enough food for the week. Just the week. After the bag of artichoke hearts, 6 or 7 bags of vegetables, the container of special…

Hello World!
This is not my first time in a forum, though it is my first time on a fitness forum. I am 29, out of shape, father of 3, and woefully unprepared should I ever have to run for my life. I do however have a wonderful supportive wife, and a marathon running, former Marine, police officer brother. But that wasn't what drove me…
