What got you into guns?
My dad was a cop and I grew up hunting (and fishing). So naturally, guns have always been a part of my life. I don't hunt anymore but I have all my dad's rifles, shotguns, hand guns and I have my own rifle/shotgun/pistol. I hope to teach my girls about responsible gun ownership and have them comfortable with shooting.

The official Nicey nice thread
Since soooooo many people are so negative about all the negativity on here I thought I would start a thread where we all say nice things (except for the sarcast remark I just made). So, may all of you good people have a wonderful night of drinking this Halloween evening and may all you gassey expulsions smell…

What's the last thing you stole from work?
Who is brave enough to answer? I have to admit I took a few sheets of paper home for my girls to draw on. I knew we were out and I couldn't get to the store for a few days. Other than that, there ain't crap here worth stealing, so it keeps me honest.

Brag on your kids
I know as a parent a lot of times we can get frustrated with the things that come with having kids, so this is a time to brag on your little ones and tell everyone what is so great about them. My girls LOVE peas and fruit and will ask for them most nights with dinner. My girls will eat spinach (in their favorite pasta…

Win gold and then hit Mickey D's
That's what one guy did after the relay last night. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/olympics-fourth-place-medal/american-swimmer-gorged-mcdonald-first-post-olympics-meal-150555170--oly.html I don't blame him. I think I heard once that Phelps would burn something like 12,000 calories a day when he was training for Bejing.…

It's 102 here right now.....
But it only feels like 101, so it's not that bad. Not many days I am happy I have an office job, but today is one of them. Supposed to end up 104 here today, 106 tomorrow and 108 Wednesday.

Are you psyched for the Olympics?
I turn 40 this year, so I grew up in the Cold War era. I always remember the Olympics as being a time to stick it to those commies. Although times have changed I still love to pull for team USA, no matter the sport. I love my country and always want to see us be the best. It just seems like the younger people don't care…

Ladies, which would you do first? Pnahandle or strip?
So I ran an errand at lunch and saw this chick on the street corner with a sign asking for 50 cents. I briefly checked her out and decided she could dance at a local esstablishment that I once was tricked into visiting that, well, let's just say doesn't hire the metro area's best talent, and still be better looking than…

So you don't: drink diet pop, eat meat, or whatever....
Guess what???? We are both going to die some day. I guess you will be healthier than I am when you die? Good for you. I can appreciate the fact that you have a passion for your way of living and want to share it, but how about you temper your agression? I don't need you or the government telling me how to live. I can…

Guys, do you bag it every time?
I was wondering if you bag it every time? I don't like to bag it and I often find that it is not worth the time. Actually my dad taught me when I was little that bagging it is not needed depending on what time it is, that it can be messy if the bag tears, and bagging it can slow down your ability to finish the job in time.…

The Big O
I was suprised yesterday to see a lot of women state they have never got to experience the Big O. You know....Oprah. I was especially suprised to see many of them say that no matter how long they have been in Chicago that they have yet to experience Oprah. I mean, I know it is difficult to get tickets sometimes, but I…

If MFP does not allow promotion of extreme plans like HCG
Why the hell am I seeing ads for it on the site? Do they not get with their ad people and tell them to filter out certain ads?

Amazing!!!!
I just caught a fly, TWICE. First with my right hand and then with my left hand. (Yes, it was alive and still flying both times.) This may be the most amazing accomplishment of my life, which is pretty damn sad. So, what "amazing" similar things have you done?

Would you give a good referral to get rid of a bad employee
Just wondering if you knew someone who wasn't a great employee that was applying for another job and they asked to put you down as a reference if you would say nice things about them in order to get them out of your office? As a caveat, I mean only if you had no ties to this other office and it is not like the person…

Thank you MIT & Harvard!!!
http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/technology-blog/mit-harvard-battle-create-life-changing-product-non-170117941.html If you don't want to read the article, some nerds at MIT and Harvard had a competition to find a way to get ketchup to not stick to the damn bottle so you can get every last drop. I gotta say it is about damn time…

Things "They" say that you hate
What are some of the things "they" say that you hate? For instance, I once had someone tell me that, "They say a dog's mouth is cleaner than a human's." I told them, "I don't know about you, but my dog licks it's *kitten* so if your mouth is dirty than that I don't want to know where it has been." We were at a restaurant…

Does tuna fish dry you out?
I remember back in college hearing a guy who was a big time weight lifter say something like tuna dries you out. Anyone else heard this? I assume he means something about it affecting water weight? If I remember correctly he would eat a lot of it right around competition time.

What is your favorite stupid entry on MFP?
The topic of people putting stupid things in the data base like salad with no croutons and dressing on the side got me fired up thinking how stupid it is to put that in as an item for everyone else to have to sort through and made me think of some other stupid ones. I think my favorite is a McDonald's 1/4 pounder with no…

Do you prefer women with a bigh bushy.......
head of hair. I love long hair. And the thicker the better. Now, some women look good with short hair, but for the most part, I want a woman who has long, thick hair. I want her to be able to go 80's hair band hair if the occasion comes up. What do you prefer?

Most unusual term you learned on MFP
I have to admit that although I consider myself somewhat educated I have never heard the term "stone" as it relates to weight prior to being on here. I still can't get used to hearing someone say, "I have lost 4 stone". But I love that I have learned something. I also never knew our friends across the pond just say thing…

Had I known it was this easy............
I just wanted to say had I had this information 10 years ago I wouldn't have gotten so fat. I don't want people to think this has been a snap to lose weight, but after some trial and error on here and a medical set back I am rocking and rolling and it is much easier than I thought it would be. To those newbies read as much…

What do you think is the biggest misconception about where y
What is the biggest misconception about where you are from? Being born and raised an Okie, a lot of people outside of here assume I am some ignorant, bible thumpin, gun tote'n, red neck and I just can't undersand where that comes from as I have never thumped a bible in my life. However, I don't worry about it…
