The 'I'll start again tomorrow' mentality
How to break out of the above mentality. I know what to do. I've done it before. I have a plan that doesn't restrict the foods l like, and puts me in a slight (not big) deficit. But before long I find myself easily side tracked and saying 'i'll start tomorrow'. So I blow it completely and eat waaaay over my calories. And…

Am I the only one who can’t stick with LCHF? – anyone else tried but couldn’t do it?
Everywhere I read, people seem to find LCHF so easy and have great success with it. I’ve been LCHF for about 3 weeks and I’m very close to calling it quits. I’ve tried it a couple of times before, and can’t stick to it for very long. Despite varying the food I eat, menus and recipes, I’m getting sick of the food. I miss…

Diet coke - does it make you put on weight
Over the past few months I have slowly gotten addicted to diet coke. I am having at least 1 can, but sometimes up to 3 a day. Initially it helped to fill that space in the late afternoon when I wanted to eat and eat. I've googled and there are so many reports saying that it actually ends up making you put on weight in the…

Overcoming bingeing without a specialist?
As my binges start to get more and more frequent I need to take some action rather than just saying 'next time it won't happen'. . thought I'd go the self help or online resources route first. Is it possible to overcome BED without seeing a therapist or similar? I'm not sure that a therapist will really help me but then…

Brain over binge
I am part way through reading Brain over Binge. It seems to have a lot of good reviews via different google sources, but I was just wondering if anyone here has found it useful.

Sugar
Just wondering if anyone has had any success with cutting out sugar, not as much for weight loss, but for curbing cravings. . I'm part way through reading "Sweet Poison, quit plan", which is about giving up sugar, which is 'supposedly' then going to curb appetitie for sugar, and the way I'm understanding it, other stuff…

Tips for beating PMS bingeing
I know this topic has been done before, but I'm searching for tips on beating PMS bingeing. I am getting worse each month. This month is particularly bad, and I just can't stop eating. Even if I am stuffed full, I still go searching for more. It only lasts a day or few, but it's getting me down. Any resolve I have to not…

If you upped your cals - how much did you up them by
I'm one of those people who has pretty much lost weight on 1200 cals, without any plateaus A bit of eating back my cals - by not necessarily all of them. Whilst i was using the MFP app, I didn't visit the forums, so wasn't aware of the whole debate about eating back cals, and eating too little. Anyway, I'm about at…

Grrr almonds
I've just eaten the last of the almonds I bought. So much for a healthy snack - I can't stop eating them and can consume a ridiculous amount of calories in a short space of time! I do measure, but then keep going back for more. Don't think I'll buy them again. Just a silly vent.

Best way to fight off a cold -
I am starting to feel a cold coming on. Would love to know if anyone has got any tips for trying to keep it at bay and not letting it develop into something bigger. (not really a diet question, but I don't want to be out of action for exercise!).

Yet another question about upping cals – just curious real
Just curious about others experiences if anyone wants to share. When you’ve upped your cals, how much have you upped them by, and how long before you decided that amount was right for you. Did you then increase further, drop back down a bit? Over what period of time did it take you to get the right calculation? I’m…

TDEE calcs and activity level setting
I'm playing around with some TDEE calculators to determine my optimal maintenance calories. I am 165cm and 53.5kg. I work 3 days a week in a desk job (with a short walk to and fro. Public transport, out to get lunch). I am home with children the other 2 days and on these days my days vary between housework, constant…

Tips that have worked for you.
I thought I'd document and share some of the tips, rules, guidelines etc that I've developed as I've gone about in my weightloss. Some are no brainers, some are a bit unconventional, but they've worked for me. Add yours below. * I try to limit alcohol to 2 days a weekly only. Given I was having a glass or 3 of wine most…

Reaching maintenance - your experience
Hi. I've switched over to maintenance last week. Although I upped my cals, I still didn't eat all my maintenance / exercise cals (most but still found it hard mentally to up it) and lost another 200g. It takes a bit of getting my head around moving into maintenance. Part of me is worried that if I put on weight, and then…

Looking at net cals over the week rather than per day.
Hopefully I am able to explain myself here. Each day I aim for the amount of cals that MFP advises. I do generally eat back some exercise cals but not strictly on the same day. (eg one one day I might only eat my calories but only a tiny amount of exercise calories but later in the week, say the weekend, I find I like to…

BMR (Basal metabolic rate) vs maintenance cals.
Based on my current details, my BMR is 1199. What is the difference between this and the calories required to maintain weight (which MFP advises me is 1510).

Some general questions about Jillian Michaels DVDs
I've just discovered Jillian Michaels and did my first ripped in 30 DVD today, which I really liked. I'm pretty much at my goal weight now, but wanting to step the strength up a bit to tone up a bit. I'm trying to find out how people do her programs in the longer term as I'm not looking for a quick fix, but something that…
