Book recommendations
I am running out of books to read, so I was hoping everyone at MFP could help me. What are some books that you loved that you think I (and everyone) should read. I love murder mysteries and spy novels, but I'll give anything a try.

Leslie Sansone - Walking at Home - August Challenge
I just found out about the Walking at Home videos last month and decided to join the July Challenge. I completed 31 miles when my goal was 30 miles. Didn't see an August challenge up yet, so I thought I'd start it. Choose whichever DVD(s) you're wanting to use, choose a mile goal, walk away those pounds, walk to be fit,…

Kinda a NSV...maybe?
Well today I lost my 20th pound, 214 down to 194, which was pretty awesome. But I also passed a mirror and saw that my legs were back to looking like they did before I gained 40+ pounds. If only my now scrawny legs will tell my still huge gut to get in shape.

Is this cheating?
I have a pretty wacky sleep schedule. I've never been good at sleeping at a certain time every night. So sometime I go to sleep really early 9PM or so, and most of the time I go to bed really late...like 3 AM or later. Because of this I sometimes cheat a little with logging my food. If it is 11 PM and I am really hungry,…

Rest Day Questions
I've started actually taking rest days every 7th day because of the P90 schedule, and it kinda makes me feel lazy. I've heard a bunch of people say that they seem to lose pounds more often after taking a rest day and I was wonder if that was true, and if it is true, then what is the science behind it?

Walking challenge for July
I was thinking of doing a walking/jogging/running challenge for July. A goal to go a certain distance for the month. Anyone interested in joining me? Any goal in mind? Message me/friend me/ post here if you are interested.

A question about P90
I've been dragging my feet about starting P90, and I was just hoping I could hear about how it went for people who are trying it/finished the 90 day workout. I keep hearing that the diet part of P90 is really important but there is little chance that I will be able to keep to the dietary guidelines. For the most part I eat…

Weight lifting question
I was thinking about starting P90 soon and I was going to keep track of the amount of reps that I did and the amount of weight I used for each of the exercises. Now there is no way that I could remember how many I did of each, so what I was wondering is: Does it matter if I take a 30-60 second break between all the…

Insomnia
Does anyone else ave troubles sleeping for days on end? It can't be a lack of exercise that is for sure. It is really starting to ruin my dieting lately. I've been eating dinner around 6 pm and then getting really hungry around midnight or 1 am when I can't fall asleep. Before I even really start the day I've already ate…

Photo Scavenger Hunt
I can't speak for anyone but myself, but when my weight started to go up I lost the confidence to feel comfortable in pictures. I tried to avoid cameras at all costs. Now as I am exercising and losing some of the weight I had put on I am starting to feel better about myself. I thought it might be a fun/therapeutic idea to…

Your Top Five MFP Friends
I thought it might be fun to list your Top 5 MFP Friends on here. People who are always there for you for support or just fun to talk to. It doesn't have to be 5 people but I just figured that would be not too many and not too few. Good way to give some friends some credit and some new friend requests probably too.…

Same amount of fat as before
I've started to notice that my stomach is getting a little smaller, but instead of me losing fat it just seems to be denser fat. Did anyone else feel like this? Like you didn't lose much fat but just packed it in tighter.

A Challenging Post With Some General Questions.
I have spent the last 2-3 hours using the search feature of the forum to try and find some good answers to a few somewhat unrelated questions. I figure it might just be easier to post here all of my questions so that all the veterans on the site can either point me to posts they have found helpful, or personally answer…

Free samples
I was wondering if anyone had come across free samples online for protein powers and shake mixes? Or basically any free sample of vitamins/nutrition boosters or sports drinks.

Is it just me or...?
Is it just me or is it easier to diet and lose weight if you have a ton of money to spend? I have basically no money to spend and it seems like every time I have a problem and ask people how to solve it they always give back replies that there is no way I could afford to follow. Q: Are yout MFP exercise calories accurate?…

Couch to 5K
I was wondering what week transition was the hardest for people who have done the program? Was it from week 1 to week 2? Week 2 to week 3? etc.

Exercise help direly needed.
I've only been on MFP for a few weeks and so far I've only been doing aerobic things (C25K, brisk walking, etc). I figure I should get some anaerobic things going with my other workout...possibly on my off days. I was hoping people might have some advice or even more helpful some programs that I could follow to help me.…

Logging Couch to 5K
I was wondering how other people are logging their C25K runs. I walk to the local park 1.75 miles then start the 30 minutes of walking and running. I usually walk a mile or two afterwards before walking the 1.75 miles back to my house. I just averaged the amount I traveled over the interval and averaged the MPH and logged…

Does when you workout change the effectiveness?
I was wondering if the time you workout changes how effective it is for weight loss, muscle gain. and any other health benefits. I have been working out only in the morning right when I wake up. It helps me wake up and I like the fact that the heat doesn't get to me as much in the morning.

A question about footwear
I've been having really bad problems with my achilles tendon getting rubbed raw when I am running and walking every morning. I know that everyone is probably going to say get new shoes, but I have tried that. I've tried an old pair of shoes that fit more snug I've worn a loose pair of shoes. I've tried wearing thick socks.…

Starvation mode
I have read on here a couple times that you must eat a certain amount of calories to avoid having your body go into starvation mode. I think it was 1400 calories Anyways, I was wondering if that was net calories or just plain food calories? It makes a big different some days if I really workout hard.

Soreness Carosel
I just started really working out again this week and I was wondering: Does anyone else seem to have a different part of their body be sore each day? I mainly just run/jog/walk everyday, but each day I seem to have a new body part that is sore. At first it was my knees and the next day my knees were fine but my ankles were…

*Insert attention grabbing post title here*
Hey, I'm new here and was looking for some people who are also doing the weight loss thing to talk to and complain about how tough it is with someone. They (whoever they are) say that people loss more weight and keep it off better if they have some sort of support system and can talk with like-minded people. With that in…

Does what you eat matter?
I am really poor at the moment since I am still in the phase of my life when I am just getting out of college and getting into the real world. The lack of money and my long list of allergies are really limiting what I can eat. What I was wondering is: If I exercise and limit my calorie intake does it really matter that…

When is the best time to weigh yourself?
I know that you weight changes throughout the day depending on a whole bunch of factors. What is the best time or method to weigh yourself? I was thinking about just weighing myself twice a day and then just averaging them.
