Frustrated
I'm not new to weight loss. In 2007 I weighed 230 pounds, and through diet and exercise (healthy foods, counting calories, getting healthy), I lost around 80 pounds and kept it off...until I had a baby. I gained 50 pounds while pregnant, in spite of continuing to eat a healthy amount of good food (and ate for for 1, not 2)…

New here! Hi!
Hi ladies! I'm 34. Texan. My weight loss journey started on July 31, 2007, less than a month after I got married. I weighed about 225 pounds (I'm 5'9") and finally got my "want to" together with my motivation. Started working out, weight training and cardio, five days a week and eating better. By 2009 I'd dropped around…

HRM recommendations
I haven't used a heart rate monitor in a while. I had a Polar FT4 a few years ago that lasted like three weeks before it completely malfunctioned. I was so mad I just let it go when I should've called Polar. My mistake. But anyway, I'm at a point where I'm no longer losing weight no matter what I do. I want to make SURE my…

Bored to DEATH
I do a PiYo class early in the morning three days a week but on Tuesday and Thursday all that's available to me are machines - elliptical, treadmill and a spinning bike (which I have no clue how to use and there's no class or video to help). I'm bored to DEATH with the machines. I'm looking for workout suggestions that…

Making a monitor decision
Trying to decide between a FitBit and a new heart rate monitor. My last Polar HRM (the FT4 I think) only worked for a few weeks before it continuously stopped losing signal and became unusable, so I am hesitant to get another. The Fitbit intrigues me but in every review I've read it says it isn't terribly accurate for…

Post-workout cravings
This morning after my workout (50 minutes - ran 2 miles, circuit training with strength and elliptical), I had an INTENSE craving for milk. I usually have little cravings for it, especially on the days I do any running. I gave in this morning and drank a cup and it was marvelous. What are some of your post-workout…

Why do I even TRY?
For a year now - A YEAR - I've been trying to lose the last of my baby weight by calorie counting and working out. The same way I lost more than 80 pounds originally. It has now actually been more than a year since I lost any weight. I've tried varying my calories for several weeks or a couple months at a time, from as…

School menu ridiculousness
It's no wonder we're raising generations of obese children, considering what they're getting in public school. My little one will be in a school-run daycare next week, and she's eating solid foods now. One of the options is to let her get her breakfast and lunch free from the cafeteria, but after looking at the menu…

Taking a break?
I've read conflicting research. What do y'all think? Is it good to take a week off of working out every so often?

Yoga video recommendations?
I've got a video I like, but it's getting boring and I need some recommendations for a new one to help vary it up a little bit. I'd say I'm at an intermediate level. I'd LOVE to go to a class, but that's not an option where I live - especially with a full-time job and an infant. So...anyone have any video reviews to…

Heart rate monitor problem
I've had a Polar FT-4 heart rate monitor for several months, and it has begun driving me NUTS the past week or so. It worked without an issue until then. Now it won't keep my heart rate for more than 7 to 10 minutes before it loses signal and has to be reset. I'm ready to throw it up against the wall. Any ideas?

Any new moms losing the baby weight?
Hi y'all! I'm 32 years old, and my little girl just turned 9 months old. I'd lost 80 pounds prior to getting pregnant, and weighed in at 138 when I quit the pill to get pregnant, and 147 pounds (at 5 ft. 9 in) when I got pregnant (had a total uncontrollable weight creep off the pill). Even though I ate incredibly well and…

Help needed to maintain weight!
Hey y'all! I've been maintaining an 80+ pound weight loss for a couple of years now by counting calories and working out five days a week (cardio five days, weight training three days). I started at over 220 pounds and finally stabilized to maintain at 138-140, and stayed happy there. I was eating about 1,800 to 1,900…

Yoga!
I want to start incorporating yoga into my weekly routine, in addition to my cardio and weights. Classes aren't an option - I live in the middle of nowhere without a gym. So I'm stuck with videos. Any good yoga videos I should try to start out? I've never really done any yoga before. I've looked up and tried some…

Hi y'all!
I'm new to My Fitness Pal, but not to weight loss. On July 31, 2007, I started my journey at somewhere between 220 and 230 pounds. I'd stopped weighing myself, so I don't know for sure. I started working out five days a week, weight training three of those days a week, and counting calories. About a year and a half later I…
