I'm new to My Fitness Pal, but not to weight loss. On July 31, 2007, I started my journey at somewhere between 220 and 230 pounds. I'd stopped weighing myself, so I don't know for sure. I started working out five days a week, weight training three of those days a week, and counting calories. About a year and a half later I had surpassed my goal and today maintain (usually) a weight of about 140 pounds.

I say "about" because I'm having problems, and that's why I'm here. These days my weight fluctuates horribly. At the end of 2010, and for a year or so before, I weighed 138 to 142, depending on the time of month. I maintained for a good year at 1,850 calories a day with my five day a week workouts.

Around Thanksgiving and Christmas, in an effort to cut off the possibility of holiday weight gain, I added some time to my workouts, with the thoughts of that addition being temporary. It wasn't. It continued for six months, and my calorie intake stayed the same.

Then I got off the pill at the end of December after more than 10 years on it. Now everything's going haywire. My weight hasn't been 140 since then (other than a dip about two days ago) and has jumped as high as six pounds from day to day. I generally, these days, weigh anywhere from 144-148. Nothing changed other than the pill.

Thought I was over-training and not eating enough calories, so I've cut back to three workouts a week. For now. Thinking about "eating back" my calories, which I've never done, and that brought me to My Fitness Pal. I'm scared to do it though.

Anyway, that's me. A 30-year-old weight loss maintainer who's having a hard time. Nice to meet you all!
