Back...again
Hello all. I'm not really new to MFP but haven't consistently logged or participated in some time. When I 1st joined 10 or so years ago one of my biggest reasons was to set a better example for my kids, unfortunately I have not done a good job of that. My kids are now 18 and 12 and both of them are considered overweight.…

Not seeing the results I'd like
I need some help figuring out how to increase my protein & calories while decreasing/maintaining my fat, sugars and carbs. My diary is open to friends, but not the public so here's an average of my Calories, Macros and Micros over the last two weeks. GOAL DAILY Calories ~ 1700 Calories ~1555 Fat ~ 47g Fat ~ 65g Cholesterol…

Coconut Oil
Does anyone have any thoughts on Coconut Oil? I bought some (before looking at the calorie content) to add to my smoothies and shakes. The health benefits are supposed to be great and supposedly due to the high amounts of Lauric Acid it's supposed to help boost your metabolism and help with weight loss. But at 117 calories…

Couple questions for Certified Personal Trainers
So I've been thinking for a while that I'd like to become a Personal Trainer. I still have a long way to go before I meet my goals, but once I get there I really think I'm going to become certified and help others to reach theirs. So who has experience in this or knows someone that does? Which accreditation is the best to…

Need Help
I'm feeling very discouraged right now. I'm up 5 freaking pounds this week, which I believe are from TOM, but I'm really not sure. Since I started MFP in July I have not had a month where I've gained this much during this time. I am so horribly bloated that even my waist is up by 1/2 inch from where it was almost a month…

37lbs gone (pics included)
Today I ran into a girl I use to work with and haven't seen in about 5 months. She started the conversation with "Wow, are you still losing weight? You look amazing" She then followed that up with asking what I've been doing. Not only was it a huge ego boost to hear the compliment, but I was so proud to be able to tell her…

Rest days
How many do you take a week and what do you consider a rest day? The last week I've stepped things up and did 3 intensive Strength work outs, 1 Interval training and 3 days of just walking. I considered the walking to be rest days.

Easing sore muscles
What do you do to ease sore and tired muscles? My thighs have taken a beating over the last week between Boot Camp and PT sessions and I really do not want to take any time off from working out. I've tried stretching and soaking in a scalding hot bath along with liberally using Icy Hot. None of this has made much of a…

Servings
When making a recipe from scratch that doesn't tell you serving sizes how do you figure it out? I always have a hard time with this, and never know exactly how many a recipe should serve. I started some Vegetable Beef & Barley Soup in the crock pot last night, the serving size of each ingredient ranged from 4-9. I…

Crazy, hectic week
It's been such a rough week around here. My 6 year old daughter has been sick for the last couple weeks and we found out last Saturday that she has a kidney disease. After a very long 4 days in the hospital she came home Thursday and is doing wonderfully and the prognosis is good. This is why I haven't been on and active…

Alternative to Dairy Milk
I've recently started using Unsweetened Almond Milk in my morning coffees and I am not loving it to be honest. The taste isn't so bad, but the smell really bothers me. Plus the fact that it's so low in protein is a negative for me also. What are some good alternatives to dairy milk that have a decent amount of protein per…

Advice on Strength Training
I'm not sure I'm working out hard enough at the gym. I recently switched gyms and while I'm doing my workout I'm sweating like a pig and definitely feel the burn, but I'm not the least bit sore the following day. I've had to learn how to use the machines at the new gym because they are completely different from what Curves…

Benefiber
Has anyone tried/use Benefiber? I usually do fairly well getting in my fiber, but there are some days still that I fall short. I just read some info on it and it said you can cook with it or add it to any non-carbonated drink and that's it tasteless. I know my kids and hubby do not get enough fiber, I wonder if this could…

HRM help
I need some opinions. I use to have an HRM that did not have a chest strap, when I work out at Curves I use a smart card that tracks my HR and intensity level and tells me calories burned. That HRM usually was over Curves system by about 50-75 calories. I kept hearing how HRM's aren't accurate unless they have a chest…

Meals
Can someone please help me figure out how to set "meals" in my food diary? I have looked all over for the "remember meal" option and I just can not find it.

Seeing results
Today was the 1 month mark for me since joining Curves. I am so happy with my monthly weight/measurement results!! I still have a long way to go, but it sure is nice to see my hard work paying off! Since joining (7/18) I have lost a total of 10lbs, 1.5% in body fat for a loss of 7.4 lbs of fat, 2" offf my bust, 2.5" off my…
