Re gain after hitting goal weight
FYI it is highly likely if you are not forever diligent your weight will creep back on. Mine has several times and I'm not talking about 15 or even 30 lbs it's been almost to my original weight. Sleeved 2011 and was a size 2 -4 in 2020 .That year was my undoing and now I am almost back to square one. I am wondering if any…

New and 2 wks post-op
Hello and nice to meet everyone. I’m Beth, 2 weeks post-op for the gastric sleeve. I feel like everything has been going alright for the most part, though am still learning those full cues. I had been curious to how much I had been losing so far, so I bought a scale since I would otherwise have to wait every three months…

my Introduction
Hello, I had the RNY done 2010 and have done well. Lost 200+ with no skin removal. The problem that I do have is that gaining some back and really down on myself. I am looking for support and accountability. It's very hard for me to stick to things. I guess it's the doubt and the consistency. I get bored and irritated. I'm…

Successful RNY needs refocusing
I had GBS 12 years ago. I originally lost 140# and have successfully maintained 115# of that loss. Over the last year, I've been really sloppy with my eating. Old habits are creeping back in, and sugar addiction taking hold. I am looking for a few people to help with support and accountability. Anybody out there?

4 days post op and doing great!
I just returned from Mexico where I had the most amazing experience. I got the sleeve and I followed the two week pre op to the letter and subsequently I think my surgery went really well. I did have to have a hernia repair done as well. The gas pains were not fun (still have residual pain) but the more walking I do, the…

Hey everyone, I'm Lauren, got sleeved on 5/10/2023. I was on track until Halloween—hit a stall. Switched from Baritastic to MyFitnessPal for easier meal tracking. Seeking cheer buddies or anyone who gets the struggle with old habits. Tips are welcome, just looking for kindness! Thanks a bunch!

Bypass 7 years ago
My name is Clair. Had RNY May 2016 and lost 120 lbs. Recently 15 lbs have crept back on due to my own loss of motivation. Hoping to lose all 15 by cruise in January. Joined gym and now trying to get back on track with eating healthy and high protein.

Almost 4.5 years since surgery
First of all, I'm always surprised when I occasionally check this group that there is not a lot more activity. Anyone know if there is another more active group for VSG peeps? Anyway, just popping in to share that I am still maintaining a loss of 110 pounds. The longer I go, the more confident I feel that I can keep it off…

Friends?
I had RNY in December 2022. I am looking for others who share their diaries so we can see what others are eating. No judgment just accountability. I like to see how others are doing compared to myself but don't believe in Yes and No foods.

Hi everyone, my name is Jeff I’m 57. I had afib, high blood pressure and sleep apnea and struggled with my weight for the past 20 years. I was pushing 280 lbs. I was constantly out of breath and sweating. I was on pills to keep my heart in rhythm and help prevent a stroke from the afib which made exercise difficult and I…

New to the Group
Hi Everyone, My name is Melissa. I'm post op 3 weeks of bypass. I can say its been very challenging. I've had quite a few problems since having surgery. Since I couldn't keep anything down I was pushed forward to very soft solids. However I feel full all the time and having issues with getting liquids and food down. Since…

New to the group
Hi, I had the gastric sleeve done in May of 2013, went from 270 to 180 in less than a year. I got pregnant with my first in May of 2014 and with my second in May of 2020. Now I am back to my original weight of 270 and can't seem to lose it. Any suggestions to help with the start of getting back to what I worked so hard for.

New to MFP and in Pre-Op stage for Gastric Bypass - Surgery will be late 2022
Hello! I'm taking the 6th month maintenance classes required. I've already had lab work and EGD (Upper GI endoscopy) performed. I do have GERD/LPR (which I already knew prior to the EGD). I also have sleep apnea and a c-pap machine. I've chosen the gastric bypass for my surgery and my reasons are on my profile page. I'll…

First Dr's Appt.
Hello, Had my first bariatric doctor's appt on the 13th. There was a lot to process. The biggest thing is switching from the sleeve to the bypass. The doctor felt that with the amount of GERD/reflux I have it was unwise to consider doing the sleeve. So I'm working on wrapping my head around that. (It also costs $5,000…

Its baaack...my appetite that is
I had vsg almost 22 months ago. I am one of the lucky few who never had a single stall along the way and actually lost 25 pounds below my goal! I've been maintaining fairly easily up until the last month or so. My appetite seems to be back with a vengeance. Maybe the ghrelin hormone regenerates around this time? Maybe I'm…

Sleeve to bypass revision...anyone?
I was sleeved 12/15 and immediately had horrible reflux. Just a few months after, I was diagnosed with Barrett's esophagus. My reflux is so bad that I have sores in my throat and mouth. I take omeprazole twice a day (40mg each time) and still throw up constantly and have the sores, a chronic cough, and the something stuck…

Hi! New and Have Questions
I had my VSG surgery on April 21st, 2021 and I am doing well so far. I have lost 67 pound and I"m a little over 5 months post-op. The loss has definitely slowed down but I am happy as long as it's going down. Is that normal at this point? How much should I be losing at 5-6 months post-op per week/month? How much should I…
