It got to be my craving for salty chips and bread. Being on the Keto diet is a real freaking struggle. Beer, bread, pasta, sweets, it just so tempting but I know that by looking down at the scale, I am losing weight in a healthy way.

And by the way, just weigh myself today, and I am weighing at 272.5. If I can hit the target weight of 268 at the end of the month, I will be good.

I think the most important thing though, regarding not eating certain foods is that we need to learn to not eat as MUCH. Personally, if I want some ice cream or some salty chips, a soda/beer, or cookie cake, etc., I need to find a way to make it fit into my daily calorie goal. I think it makes it 10x harder to completely cut it out vs. allowing myself a treat. That's just me, though.

I also spilled like 75% of my coffee today so that's one way to cut calories LOL

@ssssanaaaa I forgot to drink half of mine so there's that lol. Although I'd much rather forget it than spill it...yuck.

I wish I did that instead of make a mess on the table lol

    Question of the Week:

What is one unhealthy habit you'd like to break?

Even though I hadn't been active on here the past few weeks, I've been doing really well lately in terms of being healthier and taking the healthier option. Pretty proud of myself. One unhealthy habit I'd like to break is not having a plan for what I'm going to eat. This isn't necessarily unhealthy at all. But for me I know that I do better if I have everything planned out. But actually doing this is so hard if your family isn't on board. I'm going overseas until mid-september so when I come back I really want to work on this actively. Another habit I want to create is just caring about my future self. Because, yes, in the moment it's going to be yummy to eat that cookie or to eat whatever you want but that feeling that comes afterwards that we make ourselves deal with by making that momentary decision is not fun and very unkind to ourselves so I'd like to work on that some more. This includes when I procrastinate or any self-sabotaging behavior.

Picking at my sons' foods! Since I started this challenge I've been pretty good about it--- but I think before that I could literally eat a meals worth of calories just in picking here and there at --a bite of this--a bite of that-- throughout the day. Summer with teen boys is rough--- they can eat their weight in just about anything!! :o:# MY GAAAHD! LOL :D

Exercise: Yes, 90 min. HIIT, elliptical climber & will try to get in a 2 mile walk with my dog Goldie-- and the hubs---maybe even a kiddo if I can talk them into a "boring" walk with their mothaah---LOL
    Water: Yes

Comments: Had a super bad headache today and was NOT feeling it, but did my cardio this morning --the first 15 min were grueling--then I felt better and was glad I got it in. Tomorrow will be a rest day though. I may go back to two days on and one day off, so I don't exhaust myself and 'fall off the wagon'.

    Hope you're having a great Wednesday! :)

@Jkyzab I love salt personally and keto doesn't restrict you from salt... so what I tend to do is get some salted pecans to snack on (obviously portion size still matters) but I tend to eat them really slow and salty pickle spears help me with that salt craving.

I think you're well on your way to hitting your goal this month, keep it up!! You got this!

@BEASTFIELD314 I found out last year that I'm not one of those people that the "moderation" approach works for. I eat 1 cookie and then I'm like, well I ate one...I envy those people who can eat what they want and fit it into their goal. And this is why losing weight isn't a one-size-fits all type of thing. I think it's a lot about finding what works for you and it seems like you have and you're well on your way to reaching your goals, congrats!!

@SLIMn2016 I can imagine that would be rough, it's a bit disheartening to watch boys eat, I swear I gain weight just watching them!!
**EDIT--I realize that saying you're watching someone eat might be a bit creepy sounding, but I'm sure you understand what I meant lol.

Exercise:Yes, 46 mins weight training, 40 mins treadmill

Comments: It's raining today and I've been taking a couple of 20 min walks outside and I forced myself to spend an extra 40 mins at the gym today after my workout walking on the treadmill, mostly because I knew with the rain I wouldn't walk and I didn't want to use it as an excuse not to get rid of some extra calories...
And for some super annoying reason I've got an old shoulder/neck injury flaring up, so I had that looked at today, which of course, usually makes it a bit worse before it gets better, so here's to hoping I wake up feeling more spectacular tomorrow, I really need it to get a bit better before Friday, really almost anything would be better than it feels right now...just saying.

Staying up until almost 2! My daughter will be 6 months on Saturday and has been sleeping through the night since she was about 2.5/3 months (so lucky🙌). I usually get her into bed between 10:30 and 11:30, just kinda depends when she eats, but I stay up to get everything done and turned off for the night and it never takes me more that an hour. The rest of the time after that I’m just on my phone watching videos 🤦🏼‍♀️

Weigh in week: August Week 3
    Weigh in day: Thursday
    Previous Weight: 159.2
    Current Weight: 159.0

Not as big of a loss as I hoped for, but it's still a loss.
And since I haven't been tracking much, and I still don't have my scale set up at home for daily weighing (to keep me in check throughout the week), it's been difficult. I'm just kind of "winging it".

Still not in my house, but my daughter is better. So that's a plus. :)

Hi guys! I am still here. I had a whirlwind week away and some unexpected highs and lows. However, I am happy to say I have been keeping to my simple goals and have even started meal prepping this week.

Didn't want to miss another week so here is my loss! Down 2.7 lbs this week and 2.9 total towards my 5 pounds!

So I have found a few ways to incorporate some strength training during my day at work. Bicep curls, Dips, etc. I have heard that when doing strength training, you should have a rest day in between workout days. My question is - since it is not really a workout routine, should I still abide by this? Or should I just do it everyday?

@BEASTFIELD314 It really depends. I have been incorporating calisthenics into my workout routines and I swear I am just as sore as when I do weight lifting, but it also depends on the intensity. I would listen to your body, if you're sore, I would rest, if you're not, I would keep going. I know that probably everyone's advice will be a bit different, but I have found that my performance and results improve when I listen to my body.
