Lower steps since still have numbness: I kinda laid low after ruling out the blood clot. I didn’t eat great since I wasn’t in the mood to cook. Hubby is making me dinner tonight for Mother’s Day early.5 -

@lindamtuck2018
Nice going hitting all three of your daily goals 🎉🎉🎉 I'm sorry that you felt terrible yesterday after your walk and house work. Your body was telling you to rest and I'm glad you listened. Bonus, you were able to still sleep last night. Hoping your leg pain is nonexistent and you get to enjoy your afternoon walk. Most importantly, have loads of fun with the grandkids.
Thank you, I'm trying hard to increase my endurance. 🤗
@lmf1012
Congratulations on your loss AND exceeding your step goals for the past two days! Another round of applause for staying under your calorie budget 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 How do you feel?
@red1185
That does sound stressful. I'm glad that you have the outlets of getting outside and going for a walk and talking with your therapist to help you during this time. Glad you see it that way also, it's only up a bit and it will come right back down (and then some). We are here for you!1 -

Fantastic loss and step count! That maple glazed sounded amazingly delicious. That must have taken some serious willpower to choose from all of those donuts!
Love tikka masala- yummy yummy. Have a wonderful Mother’s Day weekend 💐
@rlaskey2
Tremendous step count! So glad they ruled out a blood clot. Happy Mother’s Day weekend.
@Megan_smartiepants1970
That’s incredible news Megan! Have a wonderful time with your son 🤗 That’s a lot of steps for someone taking it easy - ahem.
@roz0810
Another huge day! 👏👏👏 You’re definitely putting the FitBit to work!2 -

Wishing all you mothers a "Happy Mother's Day" tomorrow.
@rlaskey2 that is quite a health scare! Hope the numbness has gone away.
@roz0810 enjoy the fitbit challenges and increasing steps!
@Tazaria87 glad your arm is better and great mindfulness and balance in enjoying mother's day.
@lindamtuck2018 great job on getting some much needed sleep. Have you looked into the sleep and meditation related podcasts? I see there a quite a few available.
@red1185 the school year is ra[idly winding down. I hope your stress level decreases. My sister is a teacher. Over 1/3 of her students are on the behavioral spectrum. It has been a very stressful year for her between last March and trying to catch the children up with in school learning.
@megan_smartiepants1970 great loss and steps! Listen to your body and take care of yourself.
@littleflutterby great job diving back into work and helping your co-worker out! How is your abdominal pain, now? I hope it has diminished and you have started dancing again.
@rwoods0526 You're making me wish that I could wash my car today!
@lmf1012 Those consistent losses and steps add up over time. You are doing fine.
Well, yesterday was a perfect storm for me. I couldn't walk or exercise, or shop. I hyper focused and obsessed and my anxiety levels skyrocketed. I get where I need to get away and there was no avenue of escape open. I had a carby binge and the number on the scale jumped. I would be more bothered but measured myself today and hips are still the same but stomach is an inch bigger. So got up early this morning and did some core exercises. Put on a pair of non stretch, button fly jeans and am trying to think of strategies to derail this thinking. Have another skin graft scheduled
for next week but doctor says that I can do some light movement 2 days after each graft. So looking forward to that as I am getting really twitchy.

@Beautyofdreams
Proof of your determination right there in your post. You decided to get up early to do core exercises, and then make a plan of strategies to help in the future. BRILLIANT🤩1 -

Daily Goals
Peloton 8 miles within 30 minutes 👎 my body didn't want to peddle at the usual pace, but I know a slow workout is better than no workout. I told myself that I need to complete the 8 miles, and if it didn't happen within 30 minutes, then I'd need to then add on a 5 minute class.
Steps 8,000 ✅ went on a 5k (just over 3 miles) walk before heading to my in-laws
Track everything that I ate and drank ✅ made sure to eat lunch prior, to help curb the snacking on chips when I get to my in-laws
Stay under ✅ thanks to the walk, not snacking on the snacks, and not having any beer
8 glasses of water ✅, drank 11 cups of water 🎉kept grabbing seltzer after seltzer so that I was drinking something while everyone was noshing on the snacks
@Megan_smartiepants1970
Peloton 36 minutes, 9 miles, slow effort

Happy mother's day everyone. i hope you all have a wonderful time.
@theresaM787 excellent work on the goals. your body wanted you to sight-see a bit on your ride instead of flying past everything. enjoy the scenery, even if it is 4 walls and a ceiling. i don't pre-log my food most of the time. i don't even know what i'm having until it's time to make it. lol. i mainly have a breakfast then plan my lunch based on my breakfast calories. i want to be between 700-800 eaten after lunch, leaving me 1000 for dinner and dessert.
@Megan_smartiepants1970 grats on your walk but more importantly grats on your son and his fiance. it's a bummer it's taken 8 years for him to come home. being former navy myself, i know how great it is to see family every couple years. enjoy your time with them.
@red1185 i hope your therapist can help. nice weigh in. glad you kept it at a pound.
@rlaskey2 nice steps, despite the numbness. i have it in all of my toes. it feels like they were shot with novacain. just be cautious in bare feet.
i love your steps, @roz0810.
check-in for 5/8:
steps - 10425. walk this morning and then did stuff with my arms this afternoon. lots of shaking.
calories - over by 45 calories. still under what MFP says and not counting my exercise. i forgot how many calories were in the mini coconut cream pie and i ate the whole thing. it's only about 3 inches round. turned out to be 320 calories. ouchie, but good. today was national coconut cream pie day.
exercise - 3.6 miles right after breakfast. i wanted to watch the ladies doing jazzercise outside but they were back inside today. i'm thinking of joining them when i get closer to goal weight.
in case anyone is wondering about my obsession with national days, my daughter bought a calender with many national days/months. we agreed (new years resolution) to do something every day. sometimes it's not food and sometimes it's one bite just to do it. not fond of some of it. lol
i'm already planning on being over tomorrow. french toast with homemade cherry syrup for breakfast. i'll lower my calories with water. for lunch i'm meeting my long lost friend who's in town. we haven't seen each other since 1993 when he got out of the navy and i only found him on facebook 2 years ago. i won't be having any alcohol so that's good, but don't know about the food yet. i'll probably have water with dinner to save calories there as well so my over won't be very bad.5 -

Congratulations Roger on exceeding 10,000 steps 👏🏻👏🏻 I just love all of the new holidays 😄 That's awesome that you enjoyed the mini coconut cream pie and still under by MFP (plus you had the 10,425 steps and arm workout calories in the bank, sitting there untouched- amazing, I need every one of my banked calories 😆
You definitely should join the ladies. They would love that too!
Oh my goodness! You're daughter is a GENIUS! That's a fantastic tradition. I may have to steal that one from you for a Christmas gift for next year.
I know I said this yesterday, that cherry syrup sounds addicting. That's a great plan for the day. Enjoy celebrating Mother's Day!1 -
Sorry guys,
I completely forgot to post this up yesterday before calling it a night. I had a pretty rough day Saturday. Today (Sunday), is mostly baking Keto Hamburger Buns, Bread and getting some of the exercise room assembled. No Exercise, my body is just to sore.
Anyway this is Saturday's run down.
It's 7:32 PM here in Northern Ontario.... I'm just now getting a chance to wish everyone a good morning! lol
It's been one of those days I tell yea. Did you know that the Fitbit was designed by the Devil? This evil fact was brought to my attention this fine morning.
I dragged myself outside, I did my laps... And all things considered the pain went away after the first lap, and I did pretty good, and kept up a strong pace. Sure, my heart rate jumped around a few times, but I did discover if I keep my left arm bent like I was jogging instead of hanging straight down and swinging it seemed to work more often than it was.
Get in the house, cool down and all that... Come down stairs and enjoy a nice big Prime Rib/Mushroom and onion omelette prepared by my darling Lynn. In walks Devil Fitbit, and so begins the demise of my entire day.
For the next 2 hours I was completely unable to pair my Fitbit to the app on my phone. NO WAY NO HOW. Down the Fitbit rabbit hole i went, googling this googling that. By the end of it I was completely frustrated. I think I frustrated my fiancé as well. In the end I'm not sure what actually worked to get it all working... The steps I had taken were numerous and are impossible to completely remember this morning. Is it a coincidence that the last sync just an hour before it all went to hell included a Fitbit "Devil" Update? (I think not).
So, what did this 2-hour waste of time mean to my day? It meant I couldn't come and see all you guys... It meant I had no peace of mind and "down time", prior to the ol' Saturday morning grocery shopping grind.
Off shopping we go, I'm really feeling it now (the pain that is). My left knee was pretty much singing me a song all day, and the song went like this..... OOoooooOWWWWWEEeeeeeeeeeiiiii!!!! I was down right miserable due to said "Owies". The interesting thing about my knee pain is it's worse when I'm sitting in my car driving. And some how I managed to hit every single red light in Sudbury at every opportunity. Then I forgot to pick up my prescription when I was at shopper drug mart, so I had to go back. Which included 15 minutes of standing around as they tried to find out why my fiancé's benefits card was not connected to my account. So yeah overpaid, yeah me. Sun life can kiss my *kitten*.
We eventually got home after a few more stops and a whole lot more red lights. Cept, I was determined to cook Beef Brisket, which needed to be slow cooked for about 5 hours. So out with the Garlic, and garlic, and more garlic... Fixed up the slab of meat, and in the oven. Throw down a delicious Monty Cristo Sandwich (thanks to fiance again).
It's now 1:30pm.... And I'm slated for my first Vaccine shot at 2:24pm. I so wanted to take some ibuprofen, Aleve, or Tylenol at this point, but it tends to give me the sweats and I didn't want to get turned away from the vaccine.
So, in the car again, we managed to squeeze in a stop at the health food store, and Canadian superstore for a few odd's and end that weren't in stock in our earlier adventure. Fast forward I arrived at the Arena where the vaccines are getting administered with 2 minute to go. It basically amounted to a long about walk on a hard cement floor and I hurt every step of the way. They asked me if I was okay? Where's your cane? etc... No cane, I'm fine, get me the cluck out of here?
Took about 25 minutes in total before I was exiting the Building... I literally don't feel the shot what so ever.. No blood even... No swelling... no nothing. Thus far.
I limped back to the car... Oh, by this time my right knee felt it should bear some of the pain and started hurting in the exact same way as my left.
Got back home, knocked back 3 reg strength ibuprofens, 2 extra strength Aleve's... And went straight to bed for couple hours, before waking up finishing off the brisket on the BBQ with some grilled Asperagus.....
Then finally sat down long enough to write this post.
So glad tomorrow is a rest day... No walking. NONE! It's not happening. I really hope I feel better by Monday, cause I don't want to be this bitchy. lol

Happy Mother’s Day!!
Yesterday was what I would call an active day for me, I had over 5k steps just from doing stuff and I added an intentional walk on top of that so I ended up with over 10k steps for the day. That is a LOT for me!
I just want to say how happy I am to have stumbled upon this challenge and be a part of this group. Seeing everyone’s challenges and successes is incredibly motivating to me. It keeps me pushing forward no matter what is going on in life around me.4 -
The Green Challenge Percentage of people who lost weight this week. No matter how small the loss the weights are recorded in green. Remember that even if your team doesn’t rank the highest in weight loss for the week you can still be the Green Percentage winner by having the most losses in your team! So keep it up!!

@Tazaria87
Great loss! I googled tikka masala and pinned it.
@Megan_smartiepants1970
Exciting that your son is coming to visit.
@Beautyofdreams
I hope you find an outlet for that anxiety. Good luck with your grafts next week.
@TheresaM787
That’s impressive that you still continued to get your 8 miles. You made a great plan to prevent over eating and stuck to it. Well done!
@rwood566
I bought different types of mini desserts to bring to our backyard visit yesterday. I was shocked at the calories in a mini cheesecake. Love the national day celebrations especially doing them with your daughter.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms!!!
Went to an early cold baseball game for my son and laid low the rest of the day. My daughter passed along her cold to my son and I. I am now down to just my big toe being numb. Wish I know what did it because I am a little nervous to work out or walk far.3 -

Anxiety is so tough to deal with. I haven't read the blog yet, but I will. Hope your next skin graft goes well.

Crazy day! I hope your knee is feeling better with some rest today.
@rlaskey2
Your not diabetic right? I hope you get answers from your doctor regarding the numbness.

Good afternoon, and Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there…and all the dads doing double-duty!!
@lindamtuck2018 anxiety is the worst! Thank you for the support. I learned some coping strategies long ago, which do help. I hope you have some, as well - they’re so, so important for our mental health.
@Tazaria87 that all sounds amazing!
@TheresaM787 yall are the best! The support is lovely, and always helpful. Anxiety is the worst, but this group is a nice comfort.
@Beautyofdreams I applaud the teachers of those with special needs. I teach high school gen Ed, and it’s already he’s enough. Adding in a pandemic, and those with special needs - omg - my hat goes off to your sister!
I’m sorry your anxiety is up - I completely understand, and it’s really hard when you feel trapped! Good job on damage control with the core exercises. Hopefully it also helped relieve some of your anxiety.
@rwood566 thank you! That’s pretty cool that you found a friend from years ago!!
@lmf1012 10K steps is awesome! It’s always nice when you meet your step goal, AND have extra energy on top of that. I find it really exciting and motivating - my dog loves it too, cuz that usually means she gets a walk! LOL I agree this group is super motivating!
@Megan_smartiepants1970 That’s so exciting you get to see your son, and be done with your surgery! I know that must be a stress relief!

I’m going to meet my dad and stepmom for dinner tonight for a Mother’s Day dinner. I’m going to try not to overdo it. Tomorrow, my BIL is grilling for a belated Mother’s Day thing, so I’m going over there for dinner. That shouldn’t be too bad of a calorie-hit.4 -

Happy Mother’s Day!
Lots of steps(for me) but I didn’t get to walk. We had a nice backyard visit with the kids yesterday. Norah wrote me a beautiful letter and Hayley, who has a jewelry business, made me a necklace were the pendant looks just like my dog who passed last year. I slept again yesterday when we got home. I think the anxiety has totally exhausted me as I don’t sleep normally during the day.
I had a surprise delivery of flowers from my grandkids today. My son stopped by for a socially distant outside visit. Myself and Garry went for a long drive this morning. I am having a Newfoundland jigs dinner for supper. So in spite of being under a stay at home and lockdown it turned out to be a nice Mother’s Day and weekend.6 -

That must be an uncomfortable change going back in. Look at how well you are doing already! Plus you're putting the extra hours. Huge step count on Thursday! That's just another benefit of work, depending on what it is, you can get in those extra steps AND get paid for it 😆
Right?!? I am alright once I get to work.... right now, we need a conceirge at the front to hand out mobile and delivery orders, so I ask to sit there once in a while. To be honest, I am still standing and moving a lot, but the odd 5 min sit down here and there really helps!
I worry about burning out, but I can build myself up for sure... I have nooooooo stamina right now! hahalindamtuck2018 wrote: »@littleflutterby

Such a lovely weekend with your family! Grandkids are the best (that's what my kids tell my parents all of the time). You were able to get in a really high number of steps, especially without going for a walk. Plus you're finally catching up on all of those nights of lost sleep.

I didn't sleep very well last night, I've been awake since 3AM. I still biked, but I couldn't even come close to my usual pace. My husband made a brioche French Toast with a small slice of leftover cheesecake on top (yup, it was that kind of breakfast). After breakfast, we took the kids for a 5k walk by the water. Came home, relaxed. My daughter and I made a lemon yogurt bundt cake. Relaxed some more. My husband took the remaining French Toast and turned them into mock-Monte Cristo sandwiches for dinner (sweet and salty). While family took showers, went out for a quick walk to get me to 10,000 steps. It was a fantastic Mother's Day, except it went by way too fast.4 -

@363days
I bet Sedona will be fun!! Also, you are very welcome and I'm glad my post helped. I agree that getting tips along the way is helpful. As long as we realize we are on our own journey, and don't compare ourselves to others. If we put in the effort, we will get there.😊
@red1185
I'm sorry you are having a hard time at the moment. I hope your therapist can help.🧡
@Beautyofdreams
I'm glad you will be able to get in some movement soon. It is a great thing that you don't have to wait a long time after your procedure to get movement.😊
@roz0810
I'm not surprised you find your Fitbit motivating!! I love my Garmin, as I stated on our wall. Now that I added the chest strap... even more motivating.😁
@TheresaM787
You are kind to appreciate my "novels." It really is fun to hear about what works and doesn't work for others. Also, even better if we find a little nugget we can incorporate into our own journey.😊
Have a wonderful day everyone!!
