I agree with you Paula. It is hard to part with things. I am going to continue to put things away and work at getting rid stuff as I go.

I have been stepping on the scale and it is still bouncing around the same numbers. I really hope that I can lose something soon. I go to Mexico in 6 weeks and I have a goal to lose 6 pounds, but I am running out of time. It should be doable, but not at the rate I have been losing.

Shari, a trip is a good motivator....though I think your motivation is already high. Cheering you on to encourage you to meet your goal!

I had a good day today. I had a healthy breakfast that satisfied me for most of the day. It was chicken for supper again tonight, also satisfying. Here is some good news too....I now have someone who will come to my home to do my nails. This is a friend of Craig's who I think I mentioned a few weeks ago. I spoke with her today, and she plans to come on Saturday. I plan to text my current nail tech tomorrow to let her know. The cost for the in-home manicure will be considerably more expensive, but I am telling myself it is worth it to reduce my risk of falling.

That is great news Paula! Getting your nails done in your home. I know you didn't want to give up on getting your nails done so this a wonderful gift.

I drove out of the city to meet a former co-worker for dinner last night. My choices were limited because of where we picked to eat (kind of like a version of Whole Foods) but not so many healthy options when you choose to eat in. So no loss on the scale today, probably not tomorrow either. If I can be good today and Saturday, maybe Sunday will be a win for me on the scale. I need to do this!

Shari, Your determination and motivation will bring you the results you are aiming for....just don't give up!

My hunger was very much under control today, so I am well within my points. As always, I think if every day could be like today I would be at goal. I got some of my to do list items checked off, but the list for tomorrow has grown....carrying over from today. Most are easy items but I felt a bit lazy today so I skipped some tasks. I got a grocery delivery today and am always so pleased to be stocked up on my favorite healthy foods.

Here's to a good weekend to all!

I am back to the lower end of my weight, but still no loss to celebrate. It is one of those so close yet so far moments.

So glad for the weekend to be here. Work has been super busy so home has been neglected. I plan to spend some time outside but more of it in the basement. I have things that I need to get rid of.

Getting to the lower end of your weight is just a step before a loss Shari. You go girl!

I had another very good diet day, not unduly hungry and made healthy choices. Yesterday's grocery delivery helped me stay on track. But I will also give myself credit for not caving to temptation since there is a good bit of snack/sweet food here again for John. I am trying to be more disciplined in my choices.

I am ready for a blessed and restful Sunday and wish that for all!

No success yet, but I really hope the new number on the scale is going to show up tomorrow. I had a good diet day. I can always do better, but what I am doing is sustainable.

I am ready for a day of rest and doing some things that bring me joy. I hope we all can!

Hope you are pleased next time you weigh in Shari.

It was an ok day for me but more points than I was aiming for. Monday will be more disciplined for me. It will be a fairly busy day just with things I need to do here at home. I also have to prep for our Monday evening Bible study. I know I can get everything done; the trick will be to do it all and not use it as an excuse to not stay strong on track.

YAY! I finally made it below the number I have had my eye on. That was a lot of work and I need to keep pressing on to make sure that I can hold on to this number all week before working on the next pound. My clothes should start to feel a bit looser soon and that is good news. I didn't want to go out and buy all new pants. I might now have to now.

I work from home today and that is good for sticking to my diet plan. I need to focus on drinking water and taking my breaks. I am so busy at work I don't always step outside on my breaks. I know that is important.

    Let's all stay on track!

Hello! We are back from our adventure. Shari, congrats!! Way to hang in there!! Paula, I’m happy that you are able to get your nails done at home-especially with the cold weather coming! Today is damp and chilly, reminding me that summer is over. Tomorrow DH takes our youngest dog for surgery. It is a 2 hour drive one way. We plan that he will be able to bring her home tomorrow and the medical folks are aware. Our trip was fun but busy. This morning I totally restarted my NOOM program because I think that there is more that I can learn from the lessons. I have to do something to improve my overall well being! I also plan to locate my spine PT exercises and do them again. Have a great Monday!!

DW, Glad you are back safely from your trip. Prayers for your girl and her surgery.

Shari, Celebrating your new number with you! Keep the roll going.

I did ok today but once again more points than I was aiming for. I did all of my to do items and felt good about that. I let myself get a little too hungry though so I ate more points than I do on a very good day. Tomorrow is a much easier day for me so I should be able to keep my points lower.

Here we go....all together on this!

DW- Yes, praying for your puppy's surgery today. I hope she is able to sleep quietly the whole way home. I hope restarting Noom goes well for you. I have heard good things about the program.

The scale stayed at the lower number this morning instead of bouncing back up. I do expect a bit of up and down although I would rather see one more pound drop off before that starts happening again. I have to go to the office today and tomorrow so it will be a bit more difficult to stay on track.

Yay Shari....good news at the scale! Happy for you. I know how hard you have been working at this. Woo Hoo!

I did well today despite some cravings in the afternoon. I fought them off and am happy about that. I was somewhat productive today but got all tangled up with internet issues while trying to make a purchase with a gift card I was given. So very frustrating. I had 2 different customer service agents try to help me and still I cannot make the purchase I want. I will try again tomorrow.

The scale has held for a third day. I am meeting a friend for dinner so I might see it go up tomorrow, but if I can bounce around some new lower numbers, I think that is to be expected.

That's too bad your gift card purchase didn't work out for you Paula. I hope you find success today.

DW- Let us know how the surgery went. Thinking about you.

Shari, Must be motivating for you that you are holding at a happy number at the scale! Hope your trend continues and then you see another loss.

I made my favorite shrimp salad today and thoroughly enjoyed it. I am finding that eating a bit more in the middle of the day sometimes works better in terms of keeping me satisfied. I have been fairly fatigued lately and especially today, so I rested in the late afternoon. One of my neighbors (the one who is originally from Ecuador) came to the door but I didn't answer because I was resting. She left a large box of snack foods at the door, with no note or explanation. (I knew it was her because we have a ring door bell.) I will text her tomorrow and thank her. I am wondering why she did this. John is thrilled. I am tempted. LOL

I was up a bit in weight, but I am not surprised. I drank a lot of water and the salt I had wouldn't have helped. I think in two days I will back to where I have been the last two days.

It's a nice gesture of your neighbour to drop off snacks. How kind. I hope you are not too terribly tempted Paula.

I had a late night so I slept in as long as I could. Thankful I don't have to drive in to the office. I can have a hot drink and head up to my home office for the day. I will drink lots of water!!!

Hello! Paula, good luck with the snacks! That was a neighborly thing for her to do but unusual in this day and age! Shari, I’m sure you will return to your previous loss!! I’m down a couple of lbs since restarting NOOM but they are not new lbs-I’m also trying to recover my previous losses and have a ways to go!
Our dog did well with her surgery but keeping her calm is challenging. Also, we have specific rehab protocols to follow, such as passive range of motion ( there is a video to follow), massage, ice(she says NO), and moist heat . Each week more specific activities are added. It takes two of us to get her in and out of the house to potty and we purchased a sling to help with her rear. DH took her and stayed there all day and a dog friend who lives in that area showed up and sat with him for a while. So sweet of him!! Meanwhile, I am going to pick up more hours at work starting next week. I hope it will go ok and not be too taxing! Thank you both for your thoughts and prayers for our dog!!

DW, Such good news about your girl's surgery. She is in good loving hands with you and your DH. Will continue to pray for her recovery.

Drinking water is so important Shari, as I know you know. It seems like I am always stumbling on articles supporting this for general good health as well as for weight loss.

I did ok again today, especially considering how fatigued I was. I slept quite a bit in the afternoon and needed it for sure. Sleeping prevented snacking. Yay! I made a very healthy supper of chicken breasts and broccoli. I added rotini for John but skipped the pasta for me and wasn't even tempted. So far so good with the snacks from our neighbor. We opened one bag of Terra vegetable chips (I think most of the snacks she gave us are veggie chips in one form or another). I ate just 5 chips which were good but didn't drive me off track today.

I hope the road to recovery for your dog is a quick one DW. She will be getting a lot of attention over the upcoming weeks. I agree with Paula, she is in very loving hands.

I am at the same weight as yesterday, I think I typically need two days to recover from eating out. So I am going to remain positive today and trust that the scale will dip back down tomorrow. I didn't drink as much water as I would have liked to yesterday. I will make a bigger effort today.

I love potato chips!!! I can't keep any in the house. I admire you to sticking to eating just five chips Paula.

We have Bible study at our house tonight and that includes dinner. I am going to make a pot roast to keep it simple. I also made lemon meringue pie last night to serve for dessert. I will have a thin slice!

Thankful to have made it to Friday!

Just a quick check in from me tonight. I am not feeling well again. Days like this are rather frustrating for me because I don't accomplish much as I feel tired and achy. I understand that this is all part of having RA, but a few days like this set me back.

Shari I hope your Bible study went well. Pot roast is a favorite of mine! And I am impressed that you made a lemon meringue pie. That was a favorite of my father's. I am not a pie baker, or any kind of baker for that matter. I think those who can bake have a very special talent.

Sorry to hear that you are not feeling well Paula! I am at high risk for RA in my knees and knowing my mom is and how you are, it is just terrible. I hope that you get some relief very soon!

Our study went well. I think all enjoyed the meal and the discussion.

I love to create in the kitchen, whether it is cooking a meal or baking. I just have to be super careful not to indulge and choose ingredients wisely.

Shari, it seems like you are naturally creative in the kitchen and elsewhere such as in all your handy work around your home and in your garden. That is indeed a gift and you use it well!

My RA flare settled down a little, and I was able to get some things done. That made me feel better too. I still rested somewhat later in the day, but I felt I earned it for getting some simple chores taken care of. I will plan to rest most of Sunday as well. That should help my strength and stamina and maybe even ease the pain a little more. I didn't log any food today but hope to do so tomorrow. I know I didn't overeat today.

I had a bit of a sad day yesterday. The fridge we have in the basement froze my carrots. I have no idea why the whole thing would freeze on me. I was quite sad as I had two big buckets of carrots. I was looking forward to sharing them. Now I won't be able to and I have just enough carrots for myself as I had picked them all yet. We pulled the rest of the carrots and potatoes as there is snow in the forecast next week. I know it's just carrots, but it really got me down. I hope to be in better spirits today.

I would like to pop into Costco and look at dishwashers, I would like to connect with my eldest for a short visit, then I have some items that I need to pick up at a pharmacy. I enjoy shopping so I hope I can. I think I need to get off the farm.

I made it back to my pre-eat out weight. Now to see if I can pull a lower number on the scale this week. I went though the pants I put aside a long time ago. I ordered them according to size and tried on the biggest of them all and they fit well enough that I put them back in closet. If I can keep losing weight, I think I will be able to fit into about half of them again. Then the rest can go to donation once I feel like I can't lose anymore. That was such a victory!

Oh Shari, So sorry about your carrots! As a big fan of home grown veggies, I understand your reaction. So disappointing. Sounds like a good plan to shop and see your son! Also sounds like your efforts are paying off in the pants department. Very motivating. Celebrating for you!

I rested a lot today, even a bit more than I planned. I enjoyed a phone call from a church friend who caught me up on some church issues. I am at the top of my points today so tomorrow I must be more strict. My pain level is about the same as yesterday. Tomorrow will be a bit challenging since I have to drive John to a Miracle League board meeting. Our Monday Bible study will be on Tuesday this week so that makes it a little easier for me, allowing me to rest after I bring him home from the meeting.

My weight is holding. I am hoping to see that number drop in the next few days. I think that the way I am eating is very sustainable long term. If the weight is slow to come off, but is coming off, that is okay with me. I ended up staying home. I might be getting sick and I a had a tough day emotionally. I will be okay though, just a lot going on with a few different relationships. I will develop a new mindset and just needed the time to grieve some changes.

I hope you can rest up between your activities Paula!

It is so important to find a plan that works for you and is sustainable. Way to go Shari!!! I hope you are feeling better physically and emotionally. And we all know that both work together. Hugs to you as you go through some difficulties with relationships. Remember we are here for you.

I managed ok today both with my food choices and my tasks. I was very tired after we got back from John's meeting. I rested as much as I could while still doing a few household chores. One of the highlights of my day was running into a friend as I dropped John off at the meeting. We met at work in 1982 and have been friends ever since. He is a very young 79 year old who looks and acts more like 50. His wife called him while we were catching up so I got to talk with her too. We talked about getting together. They would come here to visit. I sure hope we make this happen.

Paula- you have so many friendships with people that have lasted such a long time. That indeed is a testament as to how kind and welcoming you are. I hope that you are able to arrange a visit with this couple soon.

I have ended up with a cold in my chest. i was coughing quite a bit yesterday and today my voice sounds sick. Luckily I don't have a fever or any aches and pains. I won't call in sick unless I need to sleep, but I will ask if it's fine to work from home. If they say no, then I will take a sick day. I don't need to share this with anyone at the office. I do think that is where I picked it up though. A lot of people at work have been sick. It stands to reason that when I got stressed that I couldn't fight it off.

My weight went down by .2 ounces which isn't a big deal except that it was a new number in the front of it. That was super exciting and I really want to hold on to it.

I hope you are feeling better Shari and that you were able to work from home. Good news at the scale for you is a great boost!

I did well today...chicken and broccoli is a winning combination for me. It satisifies me and is 0 points. That gives me room for a little indulging as long as I don't go overboard. I was a bit busy with morning chores but then rested the rest of the day. I was ok with that even though I had more things to do.

I will say that I am sick. It's all in my chest. So coughing, no runny nose at the moment. I am going to check in with my supervisor about working from home. I can get some things done, drop them off and then head back home. I don't think anyone will want me there with a cough. I didn't test for Covid since it's only been three days. I think it took being 5 days sick before the test would show a positive outcome in the past. I will ask my friend who is a respiratory therapist.

Glad your eating is going well Paula. That's great.

Hello! Shari, I’m sorry you are under the weather! Prayers for a speedy recovery!! Paula, I’m happy to read that you have been feeling better!
Things have been a bit of a struggle here with our dog. DH ended up taking her back to the surgeon in Columbus yesterday and she received 2 stitches in the top of her incision site. She had started bleeding two days before that from being too active. We keep her on a leash when outside but she manages to find ways to overdo it on the leg.
Work is going ok and weight loss is mediocre but I’m still trying!! That’s all the news from me. Have a good Thursday!!
