What a week it was - it is improving but still tired from all the stress. Last week (Tuesday) in the evening I got a call from my sister that lives out of town that our older sister was in critical condition and looks like end of life. Joanne will be 87 in May. Long story short, she is going through grief with her husband of 64 years passing and she herself is so ill - but her body rallied and she is home, very weak but alive.

At the same time my legs (I have cellite on them) both started to swell especially the feet and left lege broke out in water blisters. Doc gave me some meds to help and a referral to have a wound care nurse look at them. Took the meds for a couple of days and one of the feet got a pink rash on them so I thought I might have something else going on. Called the doctor yesterday and today was told to continue with the meds and to come to his office on Thursday for a further assessment. As he will be wanting to look at both feet and the legs I am going to have to wear my 'house dress' with jammie pants underneath as regular pants wont be able to be pulled up over the ankles for him to look at them and I don't like going out dressed like this but that is the way it is. I am thinking I will need a second round of meds to help with the infection.

Tonight we continue with our study on the book of James with another couple from church. We have met3 weeks now and have only gotten to verse 12 of chapter one.

NOTE: My sweet husband just brought out a bucket of water and is going to wash up the floors for me- he is so sweet - love him so much.

The Lord blessed us with great husbands, Marilyn! I'm so sorry you are going through this. I hope that the doctor can find some answers. So sorry your sister went through such a difficult time as well. I will pray she gains strength and the Lord will be near to her. I am not surprised you are still in chapter 1 of James, it's such a rich book.

I like to wear my culotte's with the flowy legs when I go to the doctor and I know they will need to see my legs. They come down below my knees, but I can lift them as high as they need to go! These are the ones that I get:

They are super comfortable and cool in the summer.

I had a really good day yesterday, didn't need my cane at all. I got up and walked around frequently so I wouldn't get sore and still. Where I often get less than 1000 steps, I was able to get 1500 yesterday. I'm having a pretty good day today, just slightly more pain, but I am praying I will be well this evening so I can go to Bible Study!

I wrote a new song and Wade helped me with the music. It's called The Captain of Our Ship. Our pastor used an illustration a couple of services ago and The Captain of our ship (the Church) is God; the cox'n who tells the rowers what the will of the Captain is is our pastor, and the rowers are us, the parishioners. The pastor studies the Word of God deeply so that he can know what the will of God is, and he listens when the Spirit leads so we can know where to go and how quickly to move the ship. It's important for us to know the Word of God so we understand where the pastor is leading and that it is where God would lead; and so we can share that Word in truth to others so they will want to get on the ship.

Well, I've sat at the computer longer than normal, so I need to get up and get some lunch! Love you all and am praying for you!

    Howdy Do my sweet friends!

I was totally out of commission Tuesday and Wednesday….pain and extreme fatigue and was down pretty much all day. Praise God, I am feeling a bit spiffier today…am dressed to the shoes and knocking some things off the chore list, a bit at a time.

That's wonderful, Kim! That you made do without the cane! I make trips to the kitchen without mine on occasion for practice. I do have things about that I can grab onto if needed….and I do wear my 911 button whenever I am up and about.

Prayers for your sweet sister, Marilyn…and for you in the time ahead. It will be a year May 8th since my brother passed away. God knows the depth of our sorrows and grieves with us in our losses. These ties come for us all.

I've got Natasha on call for my printer connection. Her hubby at least. I'm praying it will be a speedy fix….It's beyond me and other's ideas of "simple" rarely match mine! I just want to plug it in and print!

I'm working on some collections for give away, as I clean and sort my spaces. It always feels good to clear some space…

Wishing you all a blessed and beautiful day…Love and prayers!

Love the picture! I'm so happy you are able to come on again. I am concerned when I don't see you for a couple days. Today was a sigh of relief and a smile! Boy, that's another thing with getting old, the good-byes we have to say to family and friends just keeps getting higher the older we get. So sad. In Mom's family there were seven brothers and sisters and five are now gone, the two youngest left and they are in their late sixties, early seventies. Three of the sisters were widows, and an SIL was also. I think they were all in their 80's and early 90's when they passed! I believe my mom is still alive at 87. Both her parents passed with they were 88. If you look up Bette Schumann, painter on the internet there is a post with her paintings on it, and one of them is the one she did for Wade and I of our wedding picture. I have it hanging in my office. I never knew she was a painter like that when I was growing up. She painted the windows of our building in Morehead City in the 80's and I knew she had talent, but I'd never seen a painting by her. My grandfather was a graphic artist, but apparently he also did some paintings, although I had never seen them. I did see penciled or inked pictures by him, but only a couple he'd left on his desk, very good! Oh, I did see a painting by him, actually three walls in the dinette area of their kitchen filled with plants, trees and birds. I loved that area!

Well, I'm pretty much wiped out. Had a migraine this morning but it's pretty much gone now, just the tiredness that comes afterwards. I love y'all.

The colors on that caught my eye! My desk top is covered with scripture and inspiration notes, laminated and held in place with glue dots. I have some I use as bookmarks too…in the regular books I use.

Wow! I looked up Bette and found you and Wade! That's beautiful. She has amazing talent. Thank you for sharing that info! That's quite a line of artistry you come from. In my younger years, I dabbled in sketching….lost two of my prized sketchbooks in assorted moves…one in Irving and one in Alabama….

When I was in 8th grade, I was given the task of doing sketches of some of my class mates in some Honorius type thing. I think there were four or six that had attained some special-ness! I was honored to do them! In one of my lost sketch books, I had a drawing of Jesus, one of David and a self portrait of myself….Can't remember what else…I recently gave away a sketchbook I'd bought, years ago, with good intentions but never used it. I always thought the talent came in handy in pattern making when I did the school travel bag business with Kelly.

I ran out of steam about 1:00 yesterday afternoon so crashed….didn't get up for dinner, dragged myself out at 11:30…to take my meds so will putter a bit before I go back down. I'd love to have "normal" sleep patterns but it is what it is.

My Sister kitty has not come for 5 days now so I am praying she's OK. She was ready to deliver and I assume that where she's at… somewhere safe…Poor kitty. I thing Calico Granny, is expecting as well and she is 13….they need to leave her alone! I wish they could all three be TNR'd.

I woke up with two new bruises….who knows where I got them. I do bang myself up on occasion…running into door frames and the like.

I hope you all rest well and awake refreshed and energized for the new day. Love you all!

Oh, I would love to see your sketches! Unfortunately I got none of the artistic gene, well for painting at least. I tried drawing but I just couldn't get it. I could draw pictures that I would cross stitch (I did all the pictures of the grandbabies for my MIL and DIL the Christmas before Dad died). It's easier when I have boxes to draw on.

I am doing well today and able to get around without the cane. There are twinges of pain, but nothing bad! Praise the Lord.

Get plenty of rest today since you've been a busy bee. Praying for all my ladies. Love you

I wish I had them to share! All I have are the sweet memories! It's awesome to think on the blessings God gave us all….and the various talents!

I am going to rest today since yesterday was a chore day and those leave me very achy, weak and fatigued. Thank God for the times of reprieve and recovery!

I'm so glad you're having a good day!

I'm going down for reading and nap time….Love you!

Nighty-nap! I hope you have your strength back after a rest day.

Marilyn, how are your legs doing?

Missy, have you made a diet plan yet?

    Hugs and love,

Thank you! I did rest well and rather long….nap was refreshing, was up for a bit around midnight last night…got up for real this morning at 4:30…. Cats fed, coffee on and plans for the day are brewing.

A new bug guy came on Thursday….for the roaches…that I did not have for my first 17 years here and they came with new neighbors. He was rather insistent that I clear cabinets and drawers to really be effective and I was equally insistent that all that is way beyond my abilities….sorry Charley. I briefly considered it a task for Natasha but decided against it….would require tubbing everything up, cleaning all areas, treating and another round…to put things away again. That has zero appeal to me at the moment. He did say my critters are of the German persuasion. ACK!

I'm off to get my coffee and jump start my day. Love you all….be blessed abundantly!

I haven't seen but a couple of roaches in our house, mostly it's spiders and ants - ants are plentiful around here. They haven't been around for awhile though. I just use the traps and set them out where I've seen the ants (roaches too). We just spray Raid and then set out the traps, that usually takes care of it. I'm like you, if I had to clean out the cupboards it just wouldn't get done!

I'm not feeling very good today, super tired and having some tummy issues. I woke with another headache - ugh! But it did go away fairly quickly with some extra-strength Acetaminophen (I can never spell that correctly!). I usually try to remember words phonetically so I can spell them correctly, but this one gets me every time! LOL! I'm going to go rest awhile after getting some lunch. Love y'all!
