So true! I love this passage that talks about fretting!
Ps 37:1-9  A Psalm of David. Do not fret because of evildoers, Be not envious toward wrongdoers.
2  For they will wither quickly like the grass, And fade like the green herb.
3  Trust in the LORD, and do good; Dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness.
4  Delight yourself in the LORD; And He will give you the desires of your heart.
5  Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, and He will do it.
6  And He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, And your judgment as the noonday.
7  Rest in the LORD and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who carries out wicked schemes.
8  Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret, it leads only to evildoing.
9  For evildoers will be cut off, But those who wait for the LORD, they will inherit the land.

1 Jn 4:18  There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love.
Fear leads to fretting. We should just rest in Jesus, and trust fully in Him!

Praise the Lord, a slightly warmer day today! I am getting more used to being chilly, tolerating temps in the 60's better than I used to be able to. Getting older you'd think it would be the opposite, but then again, my body never did do what was normal! LOL!

I'm wearing my thumb brace again. I had the glove on, but kept using my thumb and feeling the pain, so decided we need to keep it immobile for a little longer!

I've had four headaches each of the past four mornings, but they weren't severe and I didn't have to take anything for three of them, they went away fairly quickly on their own. Praising the Lord!

Have an awesome day y'all. Praying for you.

Please keep my BIL in your prayers. Kip has lived in an apartment in our basement for about 20 yeaes. He felt bad all weekend, but i couldn't get him to go to Urgent care. On Monday, i went down to tell him i was calling one of the girls to watch Bill and we were going to either Urgent Care or ER. He agreed on ER. He says he thought they would keep him. Now they have found severe heart damage, some GI bleeding and stage 4 CKD. He has chosen to not be treated and to be released to hospice. His son is here from Oklahoma and is moving him there. Please pray for Kip and his salvation, pray for an easy move and pray for me and not having a built in babysitter for Bill.

Oh Connie....lifting you up in prayer today for the time ahead and agreeing in prayer that Kip will accept Jesus as his Savior in the time he has left. God bless you....with strength and help in times of need.

Kim, that's great, that 3 of the headaches resolved without meds. Ouch on the thumb thing! We often don't consider such things until they cause us pain and are not functioning....and yes....I hear you on the "normal"....LOL. I would recommend eating kale and calves liver....LOL. JK....that's MY normal.
Oh...I ended up cancelling my follow up appt. with the nurse....I was just not fit to fumble about. I have an endo appt. in March and the cardiologist in April. I do really dread them all.

Marilyn, I can agree with that...as all my "things" are small things these days. I can stand for 5-7 minutes before my back is screaming and the numbness strikes....but I am so very thankful for God's strength each day and the gift of each one He gives me. I am abundantly blessed.

Missy, Praying for sparks of joy for you and yours in the time ahead. prayers for protection, provision and peace for us all. May God meet us right where we are....and be all we need in each circumstance. Love you all!

I need coffee....and will get my day cranked up and see what I can get out of me in this new and blessed day....I have Kale....and plans to cook it! This has been a lovely meal of late...since I "discovered" crunchy garlic chili oil...oh yum!

They'd get a hernia if they tried! LOL!

    Bren, what a healthy-looking soup!

Connie, you and your family are in my prayers! Especially Kip.

Doing alright. Trying to get some extra walking in but with the pain in my right SI I can get about 200 steps and then have to sit down. I just need to do that every couple of hours! I'm going to go ahead and get a walk in and then eat some pork loin and pineapple for dinner!

Gal 5:22-25  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23  gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
24  Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
25  If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.

Thanks Kim! You know I love my veggies....and some noodles! I "discovered" crunchy garlic chili oil recently and that's so delicious in my noodle bowls. I cooked my kale yesterday and ate a big serving for you.
I sure hear you on the SI pain and the "restrictions" that come with it. I'm having the numbness, regularly now...even in my right arm...along with my back pain and within 5 minutes of standing, am hunched over in pain. My Dr. spoke of surgery, therapy, the bone scan and needing to do something about it if I wanted to remain independent.

We are having horrid fires in the panhandle area. My heart hurts for all those affected and I pray for protection and provision for all fighting it and all in need of help. One man said he had 1000 head of cattle and is now down to 20-30. So very sad. One million acres have been destroyed already and it's still raging....Heartbreaking....no matter where it happens.

Bren, I did the arthritis steroid shots for a few years. Wade, working at the hospital that ran the pain center, made it quite cheap to get them; but then they used an outside anesthesiology group and we had to pay them separately. After the first two years, I found that the benefits from the shots didn't work for as long. The first shots lasted about six months, the last few lasted for about a month. I know that you would say, NO WAY!, but they do go right into the center of the joint and deaden that nerve. They give you good numbing so it doesn't hurt, but there is some pressure. If this is something that your doctor suggests, think about it! It should give you good relief for a while. I used to be the same way when my back first started hurting. We'd go shopping and I would be laying across the handle of the cart, not able to stand up straight without severe pain. The shots really helped. I learned what I could and couldn't do to keep that from happening again. Think about a back brace too - they are uncomfortable, but they will do the work of holding you up rather than your back having to do all that work! You are always in my prayers. You too Marilyn! You too Missy! Love you bunches.

Faith sees the unseeable; Hope secures the unseeable; Love shows the unseeable!

I re-started by second diuretic a few days ago. The single one just wasn't keeping the puffiness away. Boy howdy. I'm up four times during the night to get rid of extra fluid. I've lost four pounds! I'm finally back into the 230's! Praise the Lord. Feeling poorly today. I did outside walking Thursday and Friday and I think I just took in too many allergins. I'm hoping that that is all it is!

Please keep Connie's BIL in your prayers. Kip is still with us but he needs Jesus! Thanks, ladies.

That's true! How you are when you are by yourself speaks a lot about your relationship with Christ!

Went out for a little bit and got my extra steps - 1526 so far. Was down two pounds this morning. Don't think it will go down much more though. I'm at 237 this morning.

I was sick yesterday and was down all day. Nausea and was really unstable, almost fell twice the day before. I feel better today and am very thankful....I'm working on my chores, a bit at a time...will do a few more now that I'm up from my nap. I really need to get my kitchen back to a user friendly state. I'll play in there awhile this afternoon.

I'm still doing well with avoiding sugar for the most part...tho I still "want it" at times. I've had it 4 times in the past 20 days...rather then the twice a day I was doing prior. I enjoyed it too...but it's not my friend!

My weight was 236.6 this morning after climbing to 242 last month, again. On the teeter totter with you, Kim! FBS was 120, BP 123/70 HR 58....so I'm good.

Do you use your cane when you go out, Kim? I keep one in my car and have one here inside that I use a lot. I haven't used the walker since my last foot troubles and am so glad those times are much less frequent since my Dr. Put me on Allopurinol. Wish I had something that would knock the back pain enough to count...so I could be more functional.
Be blessed, and strengthened as needed each day...Love and prayers~ dqan7wcqz8gl.jpg

Bren, I don't use a cane when I'm out. If I'm feeling unstable and need the cane, I stay home! I'm usually okay until I get more than 3,000 steps, then my back and leg get to hurting pretty bad - but then, I just stay in the car and let Wade go into the store!

Staying at 237 right now. I think I'll be able to do some inside walking today, feeling better than I had been. I think the outdoor walking overwhelmed my allergies.

Love y'all. So glad you are feeling better, Bren!

Today is my official weigh in date - 234.8 today. Since Jan 1 of this year I have lost 5 pounds.
What I am finding works is this
    1) dont focus on a large number = just say 'all I have to lose is 1 pound' and for 7 days do what is necessary to lose 7 - really it isnt hard we just need to be really aware of what we are eating and drinking and making our portion control the important thing I have done this now for 4 weeks and each week I have lost = so between making sure I get in all my water, only eat what will allow me to lose 1 pound, and try to walk at least 10 minutes a day.

Something I've told Miss Bren in the past is to think about what is in your hand - will it help me or hurt me? For those of you with multiple major physical issues that you have to watch carefully over - that is so important! Keep up the good work, Marilyn!

Did some outdoor walking yesterday and feeling it today, allergy overdrive. I got 2625 steps yesterday, 900 + steps from my extra walking. Trying to keep that going, although on these days when my allergies are going nuts, walking is difficult because breathing is difficult! Love y'all.

I had another "down" day...just got up again and perhaps can stay up awhile. I'm thinking I'll have some soup for a late lunch in a bit.

Kim, you mentioned the shots a way back...I can't do steroids due to the diabetes...even if I was willing to take another needle! I really hate that cumbersome back brace and it did nothing at all for my pain or support need. My current thought is to clear my table off and use it to do some prep work! LOL...it serves as a catch-all for sure. That's the plan. I did that once last year and it worked well.
Right now, just making a quick, easy meal, has me hunched over the counter in no time at all...someone once mentioned a stool but my kitchen is a teeny rectangle with nary a spare inch. Tho I am quite content to be an apartment dweller...

Missy - yum! Hope the detox works and you are feeling better!

Bren, glad you are up and able to get a wee bit done. Bummer about the shots and the brace. I wish I could help you somehow. I hope you know I'm trying to help, not meddle! Oh, here's one you'll love. It's kind of like acupuncture but they attach a TENS-type unit to the needles and send the electrical shocks right to the nerve and deaden it! Hey, no steroids - just needles! Oh boy! My, you do look pale, sweetie-greens! I did do that for a short time, but the relief was only about a week long so gave that up.

    Marilyn, thanks for the meme's!

I burned myself the other day, well, actually, I burned myself twice. I used a paper plate to reheat some bar-b-que we made and there was hot grease on the plate. I tipped it towards me to keep the grease from going off the far edge and dumped a bunch of the grease in my hand! That one wasn't too bad. Some cold water and it went away. Then, at dinner time, we'd made some chicken soup - very hot chicken soup. I had the bowl up to my chin so I wouldn't inadvertently dribble it down my chin, and again, tipped the bowl towards me and spilled the soup on my chest. I finished eating what I wanted of the soup and noticed that my chest still burned - yep, at least a second-degree burn on that one. I found a bunch of dead loose skin around the edge of the burn and it's oozing and raw where I burned it. Just babying it right now. It's not very big, maybe a 1" x 1.5" rectangle, but it sure hurts if something touches it. I have gauze and antibiotic ointment on it today. :( I actually don't think about it until I brush against it! So praise the Lord it's small and doing alright!

Hope y'all have a really good day today. Love you

Owwww....Me no likey, Kim! It's been awhile since I had a bad burn, thank God... but I still do the frowny face upon remembrance. I get little ones on occasion if I fill my soup bowl too much and stick a thumb in it getting to my recliner...

Still feeling thrown off so not getting a lot done. Lunch today was a grilled cheese sandwich on LC bread, a banana, Halo and FF yogurt. I hope to cobble together a nice salad for dinner. I have the goods in there. Taking steps to clear my table so I can use it. Small steps, wee tasks....all counts.

Next week, the electricians will be back to hopefully finish the job from last year. My apartment is in the line up for Tuesday the 12th and our power will be off for up to 12 hours. Bummer. Guess that will be a nap day for sure and I'll make sure my Kindle is charged.

Oh...here's my response to your sweet suggestion....xq8rgc9d3noc.jpg

Gotcha! Love the pic though, gave me a good giggle! I giggled while I wrote the suggestion knowing that you would absolutely positively have nothing to do with that. Oh, we watched a re-run of WHAT'S HAPPENING and Rog was in the hospital. They told him they were going to stick a needle in his knee to drain the water off and he panicked - looked like how I think you respond to needles! LOL! I sure hope you get to feeling better soon! Lunch sounds yummy though!

Y'all have an awesome weekend and if you are able in worship!
