Beepejaye you seem to really like the rain

I went to a movie with my kids and drank an icee- it was a thousand calories.
Anyone else eat/drink something and then get shocked by how calorie dense it is??
Oh I love love love rain! My perfect day is one with heavy dark grey clouds, and continuous rain! Yumm!!!

I went to Sprouts and bought the Orzo Sun Dried Tomato Salad (even though the nutrition label was already there), and was shocked that that small serving had 500 calories!!!

Damn I really do feel teeny when you lot talk about the actual weights of things lol
I'm almost deadlifting my body weight... but that's only 40kg (88lb), and last deadlift in Stage 4 was 39kg.

I'll go hide in my teeny tiny corner

Thank goodness I don't care for ICEEs :noway:

Bepee, what the heck is on that salad? Candy?

We're going out to eat tonight and I want a slice of my peach pie TODAY... Hmmm... We'll see how this goes. I've already gone over two days this week.

I missed all the front squat talk? I don't do any back squats because I don't have a rack. I have to clean the bar to do front squats. Progress in weights is slower but I like it!

ali, no offense to anyone but I agree with your BF. American food is pretty bland to me. I like lots and lots of spices.

dou, that's how I felt about my BF too, that's why it was so surprising.

Regarding front squats, my wrists hurt too. What I do is to prepare before hand by using one hand to bend back the other hand kinda like the position they're going to be in for the squat and hold for a few seconds. I'll also hold my hand against a wall in that position as well. Also, as someone said, during the actual squat, keep your elbows high so that the bar is braced against your shoulders and neck. I kinda "muscle up" my neck too. Saw that on a youtube video. I find that really helps. Mind you I've only ever front squatted 70 lbs for 10 reps so maybe if the weight were heavier I'd be complaining too.

pmag, that has totally happened to me before. ALWAYS when I get something from some fast food joint. If you make the same thing at home it's usually like way less calories than when you buy it at some restaurant. Makes you wonder wth they put in their food. Must be candy like runz said!

jo, my DLs are way ahead of my squats. I deadlifted 165 lbs for 5 reps a few months ago (I was 133 lbs), but at that time I was squatting 130 lbs. Since then I haven't done any BB deadlifts or heavy squats (not called for in the first phases of Supercharged as you know). I really wanted to do ATG so I reduced the weight way down. I can't wait to get to the low reps phases so I can test to see if I can do ATG with heavier weights.

Wow, 165 is epic! I think my issue is the height of the bar when its on the ground..... it needs to be a few inches higher, but when I've tried resting it on things it always rolls off. The lowest height on the squat rack is too high..... I guess I'll have to keep trying.

I also couldn't wait for the low rep phases..... until I realised the low rep max lifts are followed by 2 x 15 reps of 4 killer exercises, hahahaha. Bloody hate high reps!

I'm seeing some serious lifting here ladies. These personal bests are awesome. i loved hitting 135 for the first time. I took a picture. Putting the big girl plates, the 45s on for the first time was a serious rush.

I am TIRED. YEsterday I had a kick-*kitten* seminar on educational technology. Love a great conference. I leave so inspired and revved up for the following year. I even got suckered into presenting for a session, and received good reviews. I guess I can teach adults too lol. It was tiring though because I did four hours worth of driving, six hours of seminars, and Zumba last night. Today, I bowled three games with the family then went to do my lifting and even did my intervals since I had ten extra minutes. Tomorrow rest day...sort of. We're going to six flags after school :)

LOL I know, I know

At least my weights are an awful lot higher than those little pink dumb bells I started with :glasses:

Add another one to the tired list.
I literally just posted off a large wholesale order, and come home to TWO more consignment orders, both fairly urgent. It's cold, windy (but the sun is shining - go figure), the kids are going mental and I have to clean my entire house for the girl's birthday dinner tomorrow night (and sleepover - 3-4 11yo girls oh good Lord someone save me from myself).

Not complaining (money is good! lol) just going through the 'oh crap!' overwhelmed stage

I would just like to sit somewhere with my crochet and some TED videos and do nothing for the rest of the afternoon but embrace my inner geek :glasses:

Have a drink for me, I'm gonna crawl into bed - have to be up at 5am again lol

Oh crap. I just realized I have to bake a cake... oh well, nothing like a bit of pressure tomorrow to make it the perfect big weekend :noway:

Welp, I'm not going to get a 3/3 this week. Having family visiting from out of town has made it so hard to focus. They're leaving this morning and I will continue on the best I can.

Pmag, I could get a squat rack but I have no space for it. :frown:

So much going on here! I love seeing all the PRs.

Lifted yesterday. It was a good workout. Got my squats back up to body weight (145lbs X 3X5) and my American Deadlifts up to body weight (3X8). On track with my diet so far. Hopefully I can keep it that way for the weekend.

Here we are before the diner en blanc event!! The dress is too big for me, but that's what I get for ordering online and having it rush delivered (it arrived at 4 pm the day before the event).

It rained at the event, anyway....so, I had to wear a white fleece all night, and a clear rain poncho!

I still had SUPER DUPER FUN and really hope this event comes back! Maybe we'll follow it around Canada....I have the dress/shoes/picnic tote/table/chairs now to do JUST THAT!!

    BOOM!

Today I have lunch with my brother, and dinner with friends. Food, people, bring on the food!

Okay, so chicken, salads and homemade pizzas

But right now I'm off to make that gluten free mud cake. The girl child has requested no icing :noway: so it'll be lightly sprinkled with icing sugar and covered in the fruit of her choice and served with ice cream

Beeps you look great and I like the dress too.

I slept in again - I will try to get in a workout tomorrow. I have to get my cars blinker fixed.
And go to accupuncture and hang out with my mother inlaw .
She's great and we will do something fun with the kids my DH is working the whole weekend.

    Nice numbers everyone.

Beeps, you look great, I love the dress, too bad it rained.

Dna, I don't envy you with that many little ones sleeping over, they will be a lot of chatter, but they will have fun. The cake sounds delicious, but my boys would just want icing & not as much cake.

My week has had a cruddy ending, I got to work & my car decided it didn't want to restart. I spent the day worried and anxious to get home. I work almost 40 miles from home & the idea of being stuck out there on a Friday evening when my kids at home has been nerve wrecking all day. I did make it home & I'm scheduled to go to the mechanic tomorrow morning, hopefully its nothing too bad I was planning on taking the family to a Christmas in July celebration. The idea of cooler things sounded great since its been around 106 all week, but that probably wont happen now.

And while you lovely ladies are sharing your lifting victories, I'll share my little one. I was happy with myself Monday when I deadlifted 75lbs so today I thought I'd see how much I could lift. I was deadlifted my weight (115lbs) and then I lifted 125lbs. I only tried the one time since it was at the end of workout, I was tired & I didn't want to do the workout to begin with, I just wasn't in the mood.
I hope everyone has a good weekend :drinker:

jo, your comment made me go look at the S&P phases. I did NOT know about those 15 reps at the end! Thanks for ruining it for me . NOW I can wait.

Oh, and CONGRATS on your exam results!!!

cowgirl, squatting bodyweight is a dream of mine. I got so close before nerves made me back off. Going to slowly work my way back up when I start the next phases of Supercharged.

beeps, I LOVE the dress and your arms look spectacular.

    ali, congrats on the PR!

After a bad (diet) start to my week, I tried to salvage it, but it just wasn't meant to be. I even prelogged my food several days and had to end up overwriting it with other stuff I hadn't planned. For example, one day I was so absorbed in playing a game with my daughter, I end up forgetting I had food on the stove, and it BURNT :noway: . Nothing went my way this week. Including exercise. But I know there are going to be weeks like this so not going to get too down about it. I'll do what I can today and hope for the best tomorrow. If not, then next week I'll try again.

    Have a good day ladies!

    Save me from obnoxious ten-year-olds.
Anyway, Beeps that party looks like something out of Alice in Wonderland. so cool and you look awesome.

Cowgirl, way to go. I'm so sick of this high rep stuff.

I'm with you Ali. I have about a 40 mile commute also. You just reminded me I need to re-up my AAA.

    Jamaica, this too shall pass.

I had a decent week food and exercise wise, but I'm exhausted. I feel like I've been going non-stop all week. Yesterday I took the boys to Six Flags after work. We ended up staying until nine. I came home crashed and slept until 9:30. Today, I have an afternoon House-warming retirement party, and tonight is GNO with my cousins. I have a feeling all of the cals I saved this week will get used.

Did I mention DOMS? Yeah, I got those. Must have worked pretty darn hard Thursday.

    Nice lifts Ali

Jamaica tough start- that's the great thing about tomorrow you get to start again.

I am having a major life changing realization here so I wanted to share it with you gals.

As you all know from my constant complaints about my health - I have had a very sick time for the past year and worse the last few weeks. I am going to try to live life in the moment from now on. It's a cliche but I'm tired of being sick and worrying about it. I need schedules and planning etc but I am going to try to enjoy each moment. It helps me to feel calmer and happier.

Can you guys remind me of this when I get down or blog about feeling bad?

    Thanks
    Patty

    We will totally remind you!

How the heck are you all DLing so heavy? I haven't gotten past 85lbs, so just over half my weight. I feel like I have so far to go!

Stage 5 of the book has been going well. I have an increased my weight on pretty much every exercise from stage 3. Diet has been crap though; my birthday was on Thursday and we are still celebrating today ;)

Must get serious again after tonight!

DS is having his first sleepover tonight. I'm out of calories and won't be having any wine   I made them cookies that we will have at 8 with popcorn and a movie. I'm going to fix dinner in a bit. Meatball subs.

All children up at 5am to play Minecraft (which including running commentary :noway: )

We fed them bacon & eggs, pancakes and hot chocolate/babycinos. The husband got a call that he's apparently on sound at church this morning... oops, he didn't check his email lol. So he's gone to church, one child has been picked up, and I'm taking the rest to the park shortly. The cat is hiding under my bed

Sam mentioned DOMS... yeah. After a big workout on Friday, and then yesterday I realised the only time I sat down was to drive to and from the supermarket... I woke up at about 1am with freaking sore legs.

I prepped a heap of food yesterday and the husband cooked it up - gluten-free pizza & garlic bread (so yummy - has chia, quinoa, sunflower seeds and more in the base), and we made the gluten-free KFC chicken from the Gluten Free on a Shoestring website (omitted the chilli powder for the kids though lol and we made it in the air fryer, so a little less calories). Sorry, the only veges were the ones on the pizza and the carrot & snowpeas with the sweet potato dip... it was all about the food, and wine and good times :drinker:

The cake was a hit, and the girl's suggestion of no icing and just fruit with a sprinkle of icing sugar was awesome. Because the cake was sugar free, it was just about perfect.

So tired, but more peeps coming for lunch (when they pick up their girls), so the big weekend shall continue!
