I’m frustrated because I paid to have the home winterized and my first reaction was to stuff my face.
But I didn’t. I thoroughly cleaned the kitchen instead. I’m so so proud of myself.
I'm really proud of you too! How VERY frustrating! Hopefully you'll be able to get up there and deal with the mess soon.

I did it! I ate my fav pizza. It did not trigger a binge. I had two slices with wine. I was full and now I know for sure that I can actually do this.
Although I did not like my mindset. I was more excited than a kid at Christmas all day in anticipation.
But at the pizzeria I actually felt like a normal person.5 -

You did great and you lost weight....that is a win!2 -

Big congratulations to you. As Connie said - that is a win!!!!3 -
I've been doing zoom yoga several times a week since the end of November, and I'm finally starting to see how it is paying off. Today during class, I realized I haven't had to use my block in ages. Not for a single pose - in forward folds, I can have my hands flat on the floor!! I even manged standing splits and half moon (not for very long though, my balance is awful), but I can do it with my hands flat on the floor.4

I wasn't sure whether to post this here or under "Doom, Despair and Agony on Me" - but am opting for a positive spin.
Last night, I was tripped up by a lowly potato. Literally!
My path to the local grocery story brings me in through the rear of the parking lot, alongside the garbage bins out back of the store. It's about 8:30, dark out, just about freezing and this is a sketchy area with not a lot of lighting so I'm walking really quickly and I step on a lump of something, turn my ankle and fall. Down on the salty, wet January asphalt, I look around and see a medium potato - probably about 80 grams :-) That's what I stepped on. I do a mental check. Knees, hand and ankle all have that immediate intense pain. But I gotta get up and get myself out of the line of traffic. I wipe myself off and realize that nothing hurts like a serious injury kinda hurt. I limp a little at first but by the time I'm entering the store I'm walking fine. I do my shopping and carry it home. All the way just amazed at how resilient my body is now that it is almost 100 lbs lighter!
I was and am so amazed by everything that went right! I put my left, non-dominant hand out to break my fall - since 80% of my right shoulder tendons are ruptured that was probably the difference between carrying on like normal last night and calling an ambulance and being in the hospital today. My knees are a little tender, but not even bruised. My ankle is slightly sprained - a little sore when I flex it - but nothing that won't be golden in a few days. And I came home with what was on my list, including a little bag of baby potatoes!
Alas - I'm a few pounds heavier on the scale today because of the swelling, but I'm good to take the dog out for a decent walk, if not meet my 20,000 step goal.
I'm thanking my heavenly stars - and kinda happy for a rest day.8 -
Glad you were not seriously hurt but I gotta ask if you kept the potato that you stepped on?....I would have!1

I should have! But I called it a stupid potato and threw it against the wall.

I was proud of myself! After going to get pellets for my pellet stove and then grocery shopping at Walmart, I decided to get chicken tenders from Hardee's because they are around 260 calories for a 3 pack. But instead of fries, I decided to pick up a bag of Bird's Eye green beans and potatoes in sauce so I'd have a healthier side. When I went through the drivethru, I really found myself craving an apple pie, but I didn't get it; I stuck with the tenders only and came home and had my veggies instead.
lol - I needed that victory! I still have 200 calories left today, too, thanks to the long elliptical session this morning! I think i'll get a cheese stick with it and then see if I can end the day with room to spare.
So perhaps I can safely say I'm getting back on track? And better to get back on 3 months later than 18 months later like last time!8 -
Bmeadows it sounds like a win to me!0

I've been taking bust-waist-hip measurements from the beginning, and today I went back to compare my current numbers with my starting numbers. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the inches are coming off in proportionate ways! I've always carried more of my weight in my lower body and as of today, I've lost 3 inches from my bust, 4 inches from my waist, and 5 inches from my hips!5

lol
Well, maybe spoken too soon - yesterday and today were busts and over limit and I'm still fighting cravings today. Oh well - back on track tomorrow, hopefully!3 -
I ordered jeans online last week because I only have two pairs and one of those are about 5 inches too short (which looks really dumb in winter with boots!) These are the first "new" pair of jeans I've purchased in decades - I usually buy my clothes used, usually from Value Village (not sure if they are in America or the UK or not but they are a really well organized used clothing/household goods store here in Canada), but couldn't do that because all the Value Village stores are closed again during our most recent round of lockdowns.
From a jean purchase last summer when the stores reopened after the first round of lockdowns (a tricky shopping trip because though the store had reopened but not the change rooms and I had lost a lot of weight so didn't really know my size - what a fantastic difficulty!) I discovered that I really like the fit of Lee jeans. So, with a good idea of what I wanted, and in anticipation of losing more weight, I ordered a size 10 long, thinking they would be a bit of a reward when I hit my goal.
Yesterday when the dog and I walked out the door for a walk, I saw that bag on the walkway, brought those babies in and tried them on immediately (lol). They fit.
WOOHOO.
I know they are a very large size ten - definitely more like a 12 - and they have some stretch, but it has been at least 30 years since I wore pants this size and they feel so very wonderful.
Strange thing though, despite my excited woohoo here, when I looked in the mirror I couldn't lose the focus on my "problems" - the loose chub over my waist and the bulge of that loose belly skin pooch. But this time last year I was wearing size 22 or 24 depending on brand. I had to remind myself of that and intellectually recognize that I'm much thinner. Soon - I hope/pray/believe - I will see and celebrate this new thinner me when I look in the mirror while trying on new clothes. That I will feel some excitement over how this trusty body looks now, not just because I can zip up a pair of jeans or see a smaller number written on the tag.
Despite the problems - it was still occasion to dance around the house with a very confused but happy and excited dog6 -
despite the fact that I have gained 10 lbs since October and am having a dilly of a time getting back into a routine to get that 10 lbs back off, I had a big NSV this weekend!
Last weekend, I was in CHarleston, WV, and bought 2 pair of size regular 16 jeans, curvy fit. I did this because I had noticed how big my Cato's 18W's were fitting, and even the two pair of 16W's were a little loose, so I thought that perhaps I was finally into a 16 regular. Sure enough, I came home, tried them on, and they fit!
In fact, after trying on the size 16 regulars, I realized that they too were a little on the looser side, and it had me wondering if perhaps I could get into CAto's 14's. So this weekend, I took my sister in law with me and bought 2 pair of Cato's size 14 jeans to see. She also thought I could get into the size 12's, so I agreed to buy one pair of them, though I didn't think I'd get those on.
The 14's fit perfectly! They were comfortable, not skin tight, even the skinny jeans, and fit very well around the waist. I'm estatic on that front! Now that means I'm in 14's only at Cato's because CAto's clothing is always about a a size smaller than other places, plus these were curvy fit so more room than normal, but one pair was a pair of straight leg jeans and they fit just fine too. But if I'm getting into 14's at Cato's, then I may be starting to slide into 16's elsewhere, which I can't even compute at the moment because 18W's were my pipedream size; I never in my wildest dreams even considered I'd get into a 16!
On top of that, I bought a shirt that she suggested in an XL at Cato's, got back to her place, tried it on, and had to go back and exchange it for a L - that's just wild! I had also bought a wine colored turtleneck last weekend in a L, thinking it would be too little, but I wore it this weekend and realized that with shapewear, it fits just fine.
And teh size 12's? Yes, they were too tight to be comfortable BUT they fit me in the legs AND I was able to get them zippe and buttoned, which I definitely cannot compute.
So, I need to take a day soon and go through my wardrobe again, because I'm thinking I've got several outfits that are going to have to go into the "too large" basket.......9 -

Congratulations! You must be walking on air. What a satisfying "cannot compute" !

So the large men's belt I have been using to hold up my size 18 wide pants (yes I'm still wearing them even tho I fit in the 16w pair I bought but I have to wear a belt with the 18s lol) I had to put it on the very first hole of the belt when I bought it and now I wear it on the 4th hole and I think I can probably comfortably wear it in the 5th hole !
I've also come down in my bra band size from a 40 to a 38 and I just bought a new one online that is a 36 and we will see how it fits when it arrives in the mail.
Also while I still have a belly I know it has shrunk because it no longer muffin tops and flops over the top of my pants!
And my t- shirts aren't as tight as they were I'm noticing extra room in the sleeves this week and I didn't even realize that was a thing !
Ok to finish it off I haven't seen my sister in law in person in a few months and this evening I was talking to her standing in her front yard and she just paused mid sentence and said Girl you look great how much have you lost ? It felt so good to say almost 50 pounds ....it just felt good for someone who didn't really know I was trying to notice my progress!8 -
