New here because of Genopalate
I did Genopalate (have tried EVERYTHING short of bariatric surgery) and got my micronutrient recommendation along with a bunch of other fascinating info. They suggested MFP to more easily track nutrients. I've been at it less than 2 weeks. I'm an RN, and thought I was doing the right thing with my food intake ... just too…

Hunger and correct calorie counts
I'm trying to figure out if I've got the right calorie goals for me. When I set up MFP, I set it to sedentary and 2lb/wk loss. I weighed 315 at 6', 34yo female. I've been at this for almost 2 months now, I'm 299 as of this morning. My cals were set at about 1780. I have a fitbit alta hr that I set to do negative counts…

Connected Devices
This morning I connected MFP, Runkeeper and my Fitbit. I love that all three can share information. My question is though, if they are all connected - when I walk in the morning - will Runkeeper or Fitbit automatically log in my walking exercise when I am done?

Fitbit/ fitdays scale
Hello all, I am hoping someone can help me with some advice on digital scales and fitbit calculations. I recently bought a digital scale. Firstly, I was shocked at my weight (15kg to loose) and BMI (28.2) Is it normal that digital scales show more weight than a regular, old fashioned one? Having been even more determined,…

Don’t understand difference in mirror vs scale
About a month ago I started exercising daily (tracked through Fitbit) and tracking my calories and macros through MFP. I walk on the treadmill daily at an incline and the only day I didn’t do the treadmill I was on a bike ride. I also bought an Eros scale to track my body fat and other stats. I’ve ensured I’m drinking at…

New Old Member
Hello, so much has happened since Covid-19. Me gaining weight and losing it, but looking for friends to support me and my journey. I have different health issues but can overcome them with friends who have any type of Fitness Tracker. I have a Fitbit. I am thinking about rejoining my other gym that has a swimming pool…

Calorie Adjustment - Enable Negative Adjustments
I do not understand the Calorie Adjustment? I have my Fitbit synced and I'm not sure if the Enable Negative Adjustments should be clicked or not. I am currently not exercising much and I do not want to use Fitbit's calories burned amount, only steps/miles walked. Should I unclick it? Thanks.

Returning to finish the job.
100lb loss so far. Returning to finish the job. Didn't gain it back. Easier to do with friends. I'm a trained chef. Left the industry to get healthy. I dont take anything too seriously. Look for humor in everything. Y'all can ask me anything, I don't get embarrassed by anything.

Fitbit Burn
Stats: Female, 128lbs, 5'4" Hey all. I've put my activity level in as Sedentary and am allowing Fitbit to add to my calorie estimate on top of that. On a day when I take 14k steps, it adds a little more than 500 calories to my calorie goal for the day. Does that seem high? I do walk fast, at 3.5mph unless at home (smaller…

🌻It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Summer!🏖
Hi, I am Ceri. I can't remember if I introduced myself here or not. I came to MFP after Spark People closed down. I am a leader of the 5% Seasonal Challenge that we had on Spark for nearly 12 years. It was difficult but we transitioned well and have found many advantages that outshine any disadvantages here at MFP. I am…

Hey y’all!
I’m Katelyn, a SAHM momma and a women's ministry director. This is my second journey of losing weight. The first time I lost a bunch was back in 2018 after I had my second baby. Then, life happened: in three years we moved 4 times and during that time I had two littles and I had went back to school. Needless to say I…

Active and Encouraging Friends Needed
I’m not new here, I’ve used MFP for about 10-11 years now. Friends have come and gone throughout the years, and I’d like to add a few new buddies who log in daily and are active and encouraging. A thumbs up and a “good job!” comment goes a long way, doesn’t it?! Looking for 40+ and older lady friends only. (No offense to…

Fitbit Steps not Syncing
It was working yesterday but today it hasn't updated since around 12h45 GMT. I only joined yesterday so figuring this all out still? Where or how can we check for issues? Or is there a trick to it? Also, how does everyone add their workouts. Just on fitbit and let MFP do the thing automatically or do you add a time and…

Fitness tracker for overall activity
Hi, I would like a fitness tracker that at the end of the day can just give me a relative gauge of my overall activity. I don't want to have to stop and start every time that I walk somewhere, or distinguish between my regular bike and electric bike or log an activity when I do weight training. What I imagine is that there…

Looking for support and accountability buddies
Hello all. I’m a return user to MFP and have FINALLY found my healthy way and a better way of doing things. I’m feeling great and looking for others that can keep the positivity rolling. I’ve had my fair share of failures and disappointment over the years when it came to my health and weight, but no more. I’ve recently…

New (again) and looking for friends for motivation
Hello, all. I'm a returning user to MFP and seeking new friends for motivation. I've always found a degree of success, but have always found myself backsliding just a little as well. Always open to a fitness challenge or just recipe swaps. Feel free to friend me. I'm also a Fitbit user...feel free to add me there as well.…

Stop MFP registering steps from fitbit
All was fine until recently, now it seems I have to share all data from fitbit with MFP, which I don't want. All I want is for MFP to send calories consumed to fibit. I don't want MFP to take off calories burned from exercise and steps logged on fitbit. Is this possible anymore?

My fitbit steps are not updating
Hi there, sadly my fitbit steps are not updating anymore. I disconnected MFP from Fitbit, deleted both apps (Android), and reinstalled and reconnected again. Once I reconnect, my steps do show up. However, they do not update; say I walked 1000 steps at 10:00 and that's when I connect MFP to Fitbit, MFP will show 1000…

Fitbit steps not syncing to MFP
I've had the issue the past week or so where the steps from my Fitbit aren't syncing to MFP and my calories on MFP aren't syncing to my Fitbit. Anyone else having this issue?? I've trying disconnecting and reconnecting my Fitbit with MFP.

Fitness tracker - some advice please
Hi everyone, I'm considering getting a fitness tracker to use alongside mfp. From reading up on them, I know steps and calories from steps can be synced from fitbits to mfp, but do any trackers sync across actual workouts (eg, spinning, weights etc) as I'm more focused on actual workouts rather than steps. I can't seem to…

basic fitness tracker - fitbit or ???
i've been using fitbits since 2014. i loved my first two, a fitbit one (wish they still made that!) and a zip, but the four after that have all had issues; btw, those 4 were 2 altas and 2 inspires, one of which worked fine for 20 months and since has had major issues like going through multiple hour periods where it…
