What's Your Most Recent NSV
My most recent NSV is taking a selfie with my daughter and seeing dimples again! I have hated how I've looked for so long and I actually don't hate this picture and my dimples are back. Can't remember the last time I saw those, I know it was when a Bush was in office! Even the fact that I was willing to take a selfie is an…

Today I walked on my own -Bye bye scooter?
My husband and I both have a severe cold, we both got an earache and a fever overnight and I made an appointment with an urgent care office for Sunday morning. It’s a huge building with modern, long hallways. They have rolling chairs in the lobby, for people who can’t walk very well. I started using these chairs about six…

Not new here but I lost over 80 pounds. It started with this app.
hey yall I was 245 pounds now I’m 160. This app is what got me going and got me started with calorie counting. Now I go swimming and all. Every little bit counts. I even had a broken ankle this year from a bad MVA and my ankle is 90% healed. I used to be overweight and I went running age 13 using this app to help me lose…

Positive Habits
I am back here on MFP after a very long absence. Despite much activity here in 2022, this is my first post. I'm working through an experiment which may be helpful to me. Recently I came across a journalling app that incorporates AI. Yes, I know…. it may sound corny, but please bear with me. Today, after adding my few…

Losing weight after a cancer diagnosis
I received a cancer diagnosis last year, but after my recent surgery, there's now no evidence of the disease which is amazing! This experience has profoundly shifted my perspective on life. I've come to understand that prioritizing my health is essential, and my goal is to become the best and healthiest version of myself.…

I am so freaking proud of myself!!
Seven years ago my mom paid for all of her children and grandchildren to go on a family vacation. It should have been the vacation of a lifetime - there was hiking, rafting, sleeping under the stars at night, and wonderful gourmet meals cooked for us every breakfast, lunch, and dinner. But I was too heavy to do most of the…

Gained a LOT of Weight on Psychiatric Meds
Got up to 208 lbs. and I'm 5 ft 8.5 in. and female. Then, I switched psychiatric meds and lost 60 lbs. over one year with seemingly little effort. Then, I switched back to the psychiatric med that I originally gained weight on and since 2021, I've been slowly regaining the weight. I've regained 23 lbs. so far. I'm now up…

A small post about big results (300 lbs -> 220 lbs)
I am not sure I have much to teach anyone but hopefully some will find this post inspirational. I have been large most of my life and have hit 300 lbs twice. Once in high school and again some time after graduating college. In June 2022, just before my 29th birthday, I did a lot of research into the best ways to lose…

Halfway through my goal. 62 pounds down. I cut out alcohol, changed jobs, and left an unhappy relationship. I have been walking with the aid of Pokémon Go! Hit a plateau but feel like it’s too soon?
hey there! I started Feb 1st with 100 pounds to lose, I’ve lost 25 lbs so far but have stalled for a few weeks now and it’s frustrating me immensely! I know I won’t see loss everyday but weekly I feel like it should be ticking down at least slowly with this much extra to lose… Words of wisdom/encouragement for those who’ve…

Hit the 40 lb mark, very proud of my progress
I don't really have a lot of people to share my success with irl, so I thought I'd share it here. Since October, I have gone from 265lbs to 225lbs. I still have a long way to go and still don't love what I see in the mirror, but I am much happier and feel physically healthier. I can walk longer distances, climb the stairs…

My journey started 348 days ago
Started on February 15, 2024. I was 546lbs. (I was actually probably more than that but I had no access to a scale that could weigh me and that was the last weight I knew I was). As of January 24, 2025 I was down 199lbs. I am now 347lbs. I might be insane but I was so annoyed that I was not down 200lbs, a nice round…

Finally under 100lbs to go... some thoughts.
I started my journey at 310lbs. My goal is 140lbs. So, in total I am looking to lose 170lbs. I have been on keto for almost 147 days, I started on the 1st July and have been tracking my calorie intake religiously. I am finally under 100lbs to go with 93lbs left until my goal and 77lbs lost. While I am sitting at 233 lbs, I…

I have been on my diet for exactly 1 year today
So as of today I have been on my diet for exactly 1 year. I am down 209lbs. I have my starting weight at 546lbs. but I'm positive it was more than that. 546lbs. was just the last official weight I had from a doctor's visit and it had been a year and half since that visit when I started and I know I weighed more. I was…

❓❓❓How have I maintained my 110 lb weight loss over 5 years? ❓❓
From 288 lbs to 178 lbs for over 5 years!! I do go up and down within a general 7 lb range, but how did I lose in the first place? Was it EASY? NO WAY was it easy. At that time, I couldn't walk much, but I could still lose!! I am not a healthy eater (Way better than I was though!) and I flatly refused to make any drastic…

I have belonged to the 5% Challenges for quite a while. In doing so I've lost 108 lbs. Struggling now with heart issues and chronic kidney disease, I need to maintain what I've lost. Often the hardest part of weight loss, isn't the actual weight loss, but to not gain it back! Many of us on Myfitnesspal are familiar with…
