New Here
Hi everyone, I joined this app yesterday. My name is Amy. I have 36 pounds to lose. I gained it after my breast cancer surgery in 2020. That surgery put me into menopause. It also took the cancer away, so yay! These hormones are kicking my butt though. It's been so hard to lose. So we will see where this goes.

How have I lost 117 lbs. to date?
From 288 lbs. to 171 currently. That's 117 lbs., but HOW DID I do this? So many variables came into play. Here's something I absolutely LOVE Also PROGRESS, NOT PERFECTION Its not been easy. Briefly (LOL I'll try to be!) at 288 lbs. I used a power chair 97% of the time, my back was in severe pain, severely depressed, to the…

200lbs to lose and looking for support/friends
A little about my current journey. Forgive the ADHD storytelling! I have been on and off MFP for a while, and I've battled with my weight for over 20 years, but 2020 was a turning point. All the stress and weight gain during the pandemic caused me to start blood pressure medication. Then we lost my grandmother quickly and…

Has Anyone SUCCESSFULLY Given Up Sugar & Flour?
I have a sugar addiction. I am well versed in nutrion & health. I know it is bad for me. I know the consequences. Despite that, I cannot stop eating it. I hide my sugar habit from others. I eat it in the middle of the night in bed. This is the short version of my story. I know it is a serious addiction affecting my health…

After years of trying everything to loose weight after having 2 kids, I finally gave MFP a try. For reference I’m 5’3” 52 and now weight 151.4. 10 pounds down yay! GW 120. When I was younger, I was always thin and had terrible eating habits which didn’t serve me well in adulthood. A few months ago, I started walking an hr…

What is an NSV/What does that mean?
What is an NSV/What does that mean? Some have been asking, and I haven't yet seen an answer, so: NSV = Non-Scale Victory In other words, where have you seen/heard a comment, noticed a change in your MFP journey, or something similar that was an encouragement to you, but that was NOT related to a 'weight loss' that could be…

262 lb to 180.2 lb
I started at 262 pounds for my heaviest weigh in. I knew I needed to make a change for the better! I ended up using a TDEE Calculator website and found my caloric intake for weight loss and stuck to that! I am still sticking to it as I have some fat on the lower belt that I want to lose! I never really cared about macros…

156-Pound Weight loss, and so much more!
1919 days ago, in January 2017, after a girl’s night out when none of the other ladies wanted to sit beside me in the movie theater, I came here to MFP frustrated and angry with myself. I weight 312 pounds, could hardly walk, and the slightest physical movement left me huffing and puffing and gasping for air. I have two…

I'll be your cheerleader!
Hey! I've been on and off the fitness train more times than I care to admit. My biggest struggle is retaining motivation due to the fact that I despise traditional style fitness (i.e: going to the gym). I find that I am most engaged with exercises that don't make me feel like I'm exercising (manual labor, dancing, yoga…
