Article about exercise during pregnancy
I found this interesting and thought some of you would, too. http://www.ksl.com/?sid=27198127&nid=1010&title=pregnant-woman-under-fire-for-rigorous-workout-routine&fm=home_page&s_cid=featured-5 My baby is 4-months old now and I did Zumba the whole time. I didn't get any slack about it except from my own mother of course.…

How are you tracking your macros?
Hello! I am currently 12 1/2 weeks pregnant with my second child and have a few questions for those of you who exercise regularaly and how your tracking your macros. My settings right now for my fats, carbs, and protein are 30% carbs, 40% protein, and 30% fat but after I log my exercise for the day it says I should be…

So confused about calories!
I've lost 91lbs since joining MFP and learnt so much about nutrition it's unbelievable, but I have to admit, now I'm pregnant, I'm absolutely stumped! I've been away from MFP for about 6 months and inevitably gained a little weight back, but since falling pregnant, I've gained 14lb in 14 weeks :/ which is why I'm back, to…

Prenatal Yoga and birth
I'm pregnant with my second and I've started doing prenatal yoga as my exercise. I walk as well, but have heard that yoga can make the birthing process easier. Any experience with this? With my son I was in active labor for two days. The pain was minimal, but I got so tired which is why it took so long. Hoping to have more…

a first for me...about pee! lol
So I have had to pee a lot extra this morning. This last time I went I went to stand up because I felt done & I kept peeing...without feeling like I was peeing! I'm 33+1 today so its way too soon to be my water, right? I'm guessing the baby is pushing on something today. Anyone else have this happen? It stopped but a good…

Hi, everyone.
I am new to the group, just discovered that I was pregnant on Monday. Baby will be due in June sometime. Haven't made a doctor appointment yet, but with my last pregnancy I was told to not start anything new. That it was okay to keep going with what I had been doing, but nothing new. Then, in my third trimester I was put…

Best Way to Add Pregnancy Calories?
I couldn't find anything in food to add similar to how I added breastfeeding last time, and I feel silly adding it as calories and showing up in my newsfeed. I'm only 14w3d so am only aiming for about 300-350 calories extra a day, while I believe setting my goals to gaining 1/2lb will only add 250 calories. I tried to…

Problems sleeping at night
Hello all! Lately I find that I have a hard time either falling asleep, or falling back asleep after waking up to pee. Anyone else have this problem? I'm comfortable enough in bed but I find that all my worries, thoughts, etc. are amplified at night. Normally I sleep like a rock but this past week or so it's hard to get a…

Cravings!
What types of foods are you ladies craving? I just started the second trimester and I have to say, my cravings have been far less intense! The first trimester I craved carbs, carbs, carbs - mashed potatoes were #1. I'm starting to crave more fruits, especially bananas, which are my favorite fruit that gave my heartburn the…

I dread the monthly nurse weigh in...
I'm almost 20 weeks pregnant and I've definitely gained more than I "should" have according to the recommended 1lb per week in the 2nd trimester suggestion in the 'what to expect' book I've been reading. I've gained about 8lbs since my last check up a month ago. I lost 30lbs before getting pregnant and I watched my intake…

How many calories should I eat?
Hi All, I am 8 weeks pregnant, due May 2014. I put on a lot of weight during my last pregnancy as eating was the only thing that seemed to stop me feeling sick. It was a nightmare to lose and I still have about 14lb left to go, obviously I have put the weight loss on hold for now but I really don't want to pile on the…

Suggestions for High Protein/Low Sodium Snacks
I am finally starting to get my appetite back as I am nearing the end of the first trimester. On a almost daily basis I am way over on carbs and sodium, but my protein is very low. Only about 1/2 to 2/3 of what it is recommended. For my snacks between meals I have been doing either apples, bananas or celery with…

Calories needed while breastfeeding
Hello MFPers! I'm four months postpartum and breastfeeding. I've read from several sources (and my lactation consultant) that an extra 300-500 calories is needed to maintain your milk supply. I'm starting back on the MFP bandwagon and my plan is to add in 350 extra calories to the 1540 suggested calories to lose one pound…

Overwhelmed with all this baby and birthing stuff
This is my first child, and we have nothing for the baby besides a side sleeper minus mattress. I am feeling so overwhelmed what do I need for the baby for those first few months? Do I just buy newborn diapers? I am a total idiot when it comes to baby stuff or birth stuff so you have to use simple terms for me because I…

Exercising during Pregnancy
Hello all! Today marks the beginning of my 14th week and I wanted to start exercising again. But I have a question about it. During my first month, I was doing Insanity (didn't know about the pregnancy at the time) and stopped right before I found out bc my lower back was killing me. Now that it seems to have gone away…

Weight!
It seems like I can exercise and eat under or to my calorie limit and it isn't making a difference. Its so frustrating. I exercise 6 days a week 60 mins a day on a stationary bike..My speed is usually 18-22. I have it on one of the highest levels. I eat pretty healthy I have correct portions and its not coming off. I had 3…

How much did you gain during your first trimester?
I am currently pregnant with baby #2. I have my first appointment on September 26th, and because I am having back-to-back pregnancies, I don't have an EDD, yet. However, I am guessing I am between 6-8 weeks pregnant. I've already put on 5 pounds! Is this because it is baby #2, or what? This is my most recent picture. I've…

soon to be pg - scared about weight gain!
Hey ladies! I'm TTC my 3rd child (in the TWW now, but based on our ease of getting knocked up in the past I am hoping it happens fast again!) Right before my son was born I weighed 250 - I'm 5'9". I got big time into running and using MFP and was down to 169 at my lowest, last summer (2012). Then life got tossed around a…

Birth Plan
Do you have one? What's in it? I didn't even get to use mine last time because, well, things went according to plan and I got there pushing. I am bored today and working on my birth plan for baby #3. Trying to keep things short, sweet, and a bit light.

New here :) 29 weeks
Hey everyone. I'm new to the group, but not new to MFP :) I successfully lost about 70 pounds after I had my daughter two years ago. Now I'm pregnant again with our third. My starting weight was 169 and now I'm up to 199 at 29 weeks. I'm so ashamed. I have been so inactive. Before getting pregnant I was working out…

Exerecise Postpartum
I am not up to there yet but I was wondering if anyone had any experiences they could share. I was working out doing ''the 30 day shred'' for 9 months before I got pregnant and then i switched to ''body by trimester'' by Joy southworth once I got pregnant. I hope to continue working out till I give birth. I know that…

Flu Shot & Tdap
Hi Ladies, I went in for my usual bi-weekly exam yesterday (27 weeks..yay!) and my Dr. asked if I would be getting the Flu shot. I have usually passed on this, simply because I got it once a few years ago and felt pretty sick after. Now, that isn't to say that I wasn't already coming down with something, but it freaks me…

Prenatal Genetic Testing
I'm sorry if this isn't the right site to ask this, but I'm torn about this decision. Have any of you gone through prenatal genetic testing? They say you should get it done when your 35 or older. But I'm 34 and I've been told by several people that I should get it done. However, I am not at all comfortable with the idea.…

Runners: How much slower did you get?
Before my pregnancy I ran almost 10km/hr (10min/miles). I've taken a break for two months due to fatigue and nausea and when I started again I had slowed down to 7km/hr (13,5min/miles). I don't really care much. I'm running but I'm slow. I don't feel it as much when I'm cycling. Anyone else gotten slower?

31 weeks & TIRED!
Hi. I'm 31 weeks today & the past 3 days my energy level is crapped out! I get so tired standing. I'm not sleeping great every night but still. Friday night it was so bad I felt drugged! I keep feeling like I'm going to have my girl 2-3 weeks early. I'm not sure if that's just because I've got so much to do before then &…

Your favorite cures for queasiness.
Just curious to hear what other people find useful. I like peppermint tea with fresh ginger when I feel sick, but now that gives me a heartburn. So now I'm looking for other smart ideas.

Stroller Stress
I had no idea picking one out would be so complicated. We want: --A high quality stroller (we're willing to pay a premium for it) --Starts for 1 child but can add on another seat to carry 2 children (so by default it would be front/back not side by side) --Somewhat rugged but no need for trail capability....we have a bike…

Jogging stroller that can be used with newborn?
I'm looking for recommendations for a jogging stroller. I have had to stop running while pregnant, because my pelvis hurts too badly, and I want to get back to it as soon as possible once the baby is born. I don't know much about strollers because I don't usually use them, and I don't know ANYTHING about jogging strollers.…

Using body media band while pregnant
Ive heard so many great things about the body media band (http://www.amazon.com/BodyMedia-Armband-Weight-Management-System/dp/B0049POHK6/ref=sr_1_1?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1379964876&sr=1-1&keywords=body+media+fit) and I really would love to get myself one to figure out how much calories I am actually burning, so I can be more…
