Anybody doing Kettlebells?
Cool! So now that I feel pretty chilled and inspired to continue lifting heavy stuff throughout my pregnancy, something I really love, I move on to my next question. Are anybody here doing kettlebells while pregnant? What are your experiences? I really want to try it, but I know it challenges the body in very different…

OK to lift heavy weights?
I love, love, love my most intensive gym classes. Like kickboxing ( in air, no partner/ no real hitting) and weightlifting. I'm just really addicted to it, and need them to relieve stress. As far as I understand I can do these as long I listen to my body. Im just halfway through my first trimester. I wear a pulse watch.…

Hate the Scale @ Dr. Office!!!
I'm 27 weeks, 5 days today and I've gained about 25 lbs so far this pregnancy. I weigh myself every couple of days using the same scale that I have been using for well over 1 year now. My weight this morning was 182 which it has been fluctuating around 180-185 for the past couple of weeks, so I'm pumped for that. But.....I…

Inspiring article regarding health and fitness in pregnancy
My favorite part: “I think the most important lesson is to focus on what you can control, whatever your own circumstances. By moving as much as you can, and focusing on healthy foods, you’ll create a safe environment for your baby to thrive in. Then, after the pregnancy, you can get to the task of getting healthy again, as…

Unexplained rapid weight gain?
I'm at 14 weeks. After having lost some during my first trimester, I've found my love for food again. I've been making fairly healthy choices and tracking my food, eating at maintenance. In the past two weeks my weight has gone up rapidly (about 5lbs). Anyone else experiencing/having experienced this early 2nd trimester?

Another mom talked about this today & got me thinking. What would be your ideal, perfect maternity leave? I do daycare from home & have already scaled back my kids to just one. My plan has been to only take 2 weeks off before taking care of the other little girl part time again. With it being around the holidays it will…

Losing Weight Before TTC
Hello All! My husband and I are about to start TTC -- or at least that's what we were planning on doing. Here's the problem: I'm overweight. Not terribly so - according to online calculators, I have a BMI of 29.4, with more of my weight residing in my hips and thighs (so lower risk). I'm also active - I jog 2-3 times per…

Too much or too little calories???
Just found out that I am preggo (8 weeks along!) but I still would like to use MFP to make sure I don't get carried away  Before I used MFP to lose weight and maintain accountability. But I had my calorie count at 1250 - only because I'm in my early thirties, sit mostly for work, and exercise when I can at home. So…
