New to the whole diet and pcos fun!
Hello! I'm 31 and recently diagnosed with PCOS. I think its long overdue and that I've actually had it quite some time. I was also blessed with an underactive thyroid gland, yay! Plus I've had a baby so I'm pretty much broken lol! I recently went to a bariatric specialist and was told to eat a low carb high protein diet.…

I'm 38 yo, happily married, have an 11 yo son. I live on the west coast of Canada on a rural gulf island. From my front door it's a 20 min walk to the…

Inositol questions/poll
Dearest ladies who take this supplement - Are you taking myo-inositol or d-chiro-inositol? Are you using pills or powder? How much are you taking and how often? On a scale of 1-10 (10 being best), how would you rate the effectiveness of this for you? Thank you so much for helping me!!

Inositol
Hey ladies! I was curious if any of you had heard of inositol or if you've tried it (if so, what were the results?) I seem to find a lot of conflicted information that you are required to take folic acid while taking it? I'd love to talk to my OBG about it but I got laid off in Decemeber and just haven't been able to find…

Monthly (or whenever) cycles and massive temp weight gain
It's hard for me to record weight on mfp because of massive, an I mean incredible, off the chart weight gain I go through right before I'm about to have my cycle. I don't have anything like a regular cycle anymore between perimenopause and PCOS - so I know I am about to have one by the fact that I will gain 7-10 pounds in…

Wondering why...
As I mentioned before in a prior post, I was recently diagnosed with PCOS. I have been doing tons of reading and researching the topic. Wow! Information overload. So many variations from woman to woman. What I haven't heard is anyone ever mention getting a hysterectomy (If they don't want kids or already have children) as…

Just need to vent... I love losing weight, but hate...
...the spotting! I know WHY it happens, but I hate it. The hormonal chaos also turns me into a rage beast who wants to eat all of the food. It doesn't happen the entire time, but definitely happens quite often when I'm losing weight. Even when I was on BCP I'd experience breakthrough bleeding that would drive me nuts. The…

Hello everyone! Newbie here! Looking for cysters to support each other! :)
I'm 26 (almost 27) and I've been dx with PCOS since 19. I knew I had a problem earlier, but ignored it until then because not getting periods was pretty cool. I've been overweight since puberty, likely partly due to the PCOS and because I like to eat the wrong foods. I took BCP from 19-22 and it helped my symptoms…

This is why I advocate getting insulin tested
Over the past couple of weeks, I've had a few blood tests done, thanks to having a new doctor, and as of today, I've got all of my numbers back. Now, anyone that's seen my past postings knows that I heavily advocate getting fasting insulin tested, and not just glucose. While I have a number of results that I can share,…

Whole30/Paleo style of eating?
Hello! I'm new to this group and am jumping back on the MFP wagon. I was diagnosed with PCOS last month (Jan. 21st) but have suspected it for a little over a year. PCOS and TTC-Diet change!
I'm 27yo, and have been on MFP for 3 weeks after TTC for 1.5 yrs and being on 3 rounds of Clomid, Glucophage, etc., only to have my gyno tell me I need in vitro. So Frustrated
I don't know about anyone else but my weight fluctuates drastically! I can easily go up or down 5 to 10 pounds in a day and I don't know if this has anything to do with having PCOS/IR/Hypothyroidism or just being a woman. I'm still trying to find out what works well for me as far as what helps me lose weight. I know that…

Magnesium?
Hello all! I am currently on metformin as well as spironolactone. When researching general weight loss, magnesium seems to come up a lot. I looked up reactions for met (which really reacts with very little) and spiro for magnesium and can't seem to get a definitive answer for that. Some sites say that you don't want to…
