Endurance athletes on here?
Anyone do endurance sports? I posted in fitness but thought I would try here. We follow alot of Paleo recipes (i am gluten and dairy free) but we (my household) are not strict Paleo. I play around with it but my problem is trying to sustain enough energy for marathons and Iron Man training..Plus as a "fatty on the inside"…

So the other day at Trader Joe I bought some Creme Fraiche (sp??) on a whim...in reading through I saw where some people were putting a dollop on berries and what not... Well the other day i decided to add a small dallop to my mashed up half avacado....oh man so creamy and made it even more delicious...ate it with some…

Wok cooking. Oil?
I hadn't cooked with my wok since going primal. Last night my wife made fajitas (she is just starting and mostly just cut out flour). She is supportive but not at the same spot I am. So she cooks up the chicken and Veg... After they are almost done, I asked.. Hey what oil did you use? Well wok oil you dork... Oh... (I…

Completion of my 90 day personal challenge.
Some of you have seen me post out here. I hate the main boards and refused to use them even before going primal 1/1. I posted my summary out there at http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/548673-operation-no-love-handles-completed-32-lbs and I'll share the embarrassing photos to you all too ;)

Eating primally is great - but it is so hard not to overeat
I actually have no problem leaving out processed foods, grains, sugar, etc. I am even drinking my coffee black now and leave out most dairy. Why is it easy? Because I get to eat all the stuff I never got to enjoy before when trying to loose weight. I can fairly easy keep to below 100g carbs per day, despite eating plenty…

another one of my crazy theories
ok so while in the grocery store today, i had a thought. we know that big food and big pharma are in bed together, so do you think that the rise in wheat intolorance diagnosis and the ridiculous overpricing of wheat free products go hand in hand? while its semi good that people are realizing the allergic properties of…

free range chicken
So I put on facebook something about buying eggs from free range chickens. Someone responded with "ew don't you know free range chickens eat their poop? My father saw it himself on the farm. Gross!" First off, what? My thought are at least they aren't living in their own poop like most chickens. But really what do I say to…

This guy just love to start things.
http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/551531-what-will-make-you-fatter this is the guy who called me liar because I have told him I have overeaten fat/protein and not gained. Considering on my laziest day I can burn only 1600 calories it is easy to do and I experiment all the time. What I have learned with my Body Media…

I am so tired of counting every calorie, I love eating paleo it helps a ton for my cravings. Before I…

Protein Supplements
I'm curious as to why I would choose a protein shake over eating the protein? Are there benefits/advantages to using protein shakes rather than just eating food with high protein? Are they less time-consuming than preparing food, or perhaps less expensive? More vitamins so there is no need for a daily vitamin? I know my…

Cookbook recommendations
I've found several websites with good paleo recipes, but i really prefer having a book I can leaf through when i'm not at the computer for meal planning. I have several (primal blueprint cookbook, paleo comfort foods, and paleo cookbook) on hold at our library, but while i'm waiting for those to see which one I'll want to…

What's the Difference??
Between Primal and Paleo? I did a Google search to discover, and couldn't really find anything on the topic. . . Admittedly ignorant. :)

Fruit and carb limits
Hi all, I'm very new to this, so please excuse the ignorance but, I don't understand the deal with fruit. What I don't get is, if my carb goal is set to 100g, then an apple (19g carbs) and a banana (27g carbs) is 46% of my daily carb total? Is this correct - and is the answer to just avoid these fruits and stick with…

have you seen this thread?
http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/105890-kashi-go-lean-crunch-upsetting-stomach I know I should stay off the main boards but am I the crazy one for thinking that if a food upsets your stomach you shouldn't eat it? I mean these people are talking about farting and feeling like Heck all day from their cereal but they…

any MRP bars / protein bars etc that you might use?
I had been buying Premier protein bars from costco (good protein ratio for me) then switched to EAS myoplex lite. Mind you, this was in my chronic cardio 45/35/20 days. Are there any pre prepared bars that you would eat now? The EAS bars have HFCS and both of them have too many senseless carbs from the goo holding the…

Defending Paleo on the Main Boards
I get very frustrated watching people try to defend Paleo on the main boards on MFP. Here's a list of dos and don'ts: *Don't quote Mark's Daily Apple when trying to "prove" any part of paleo... it's not a scientific journal! It's based mostly off of one man's nutritional journey. *You didn't lose weight solely by…

Paleo changing lives
So I have been following primal/paleo for awhile. About a month ago a friend from college emailed me and asked some questions. I told him to read about it - gave him links to some of the bigger websites as well as a bunch of links to paleo friendly blogs I like. I told him the pros and the cons and told him he really had…

Ladies Who Lift
I want to get into lifting, but I've not picked up a free weight in my life. I'm concerned about having proper form - I have back issues that I don't want to aggravate by doing things improperly. For those who lift - How did you get started? What did you do to perfect form? Any tips, pointers, warnings? Thanks!

Fasting Advice
Hi everyone! Been living primal for over 6 months now. allergic reaction
Hey all, I've been eating paleo for a while and I really enjoy it. Last night I went out for supper with a friend, greek food, so I did eat wheat and dairy products along with a sugary dessert. I woke up this morning with very puffy eyes and a gooey throat. Has anybody experienced the same reaction after consuming…

Struggles with Paleo
Hello All! I have to say, that over other "diets", I find Paleo the easiest for me to follow, stick with and really feel like I am overall healthier. I am not super strict, if I was, it would turn into a compulsive disorder with lots of crying. So I tell myself make the best effort you can, and when I am personally making…

energy level has decreased since going primal
Been doing paleo for about 3 weeks now at least 90-95% sometimes very strict. Can anyone give me any idea as to when my energy level will pick up? My body is just not used to the decrease in carb consumption but my hope is that I will start leveling off. Any suggestions?

TMI - Bowel Movements
How have they changed? I noticed that I do not have as much gas as I used to but I used to be extremely regular in the bathroom. Now it's every few days. Am I missing something from my diet? I meet my fiber requirement.

New to Paleo-what should my goals be?
Hello, I have been looking into Paleo for a few weeks now and find it very appealing, especially the anit-inflammatory and weight loss aspects. I don' know what the MFP goals should be set at for calories, carbs, fat, and protein to make this work. If anyone can give me some tips, I would greatly appreciate it.

Statins can cause diabetes. Oh man.

Is Honey Really ok to use on Primal/Paleo?
I've been told that honey and even agave nectar still convert the same as sugar in the digestive tract. I'd sure like to have a better understanding of the difference between them and sugar. I see so many Paleo recipes with sweeteners and shy away from them. Any thoughts?
