Scooby Vs. IIFYM Calculator
Hello, Quick question - I am working on my reset and am eating between 2100 - 2500 calories daily, depending on what my meals are. 4x a week weights - arms and legs. Noticing that I am feeling overall puffier -- not weighing myself but my smaller jeans are feeling super tight around the waist band, I'm breaking out now…

Exercise Log , Calories and TDEE
Should I add my exercise in the exercise area and how does this affect the net calories (i.e. TDEE) on the "My Home" page I've eaten my TDEE calories today but did lots of intense deep house cleaning. After I've added this activity to the exercise section, I'm now allowed 300. Is this true? Or does the activity added when…

I thought I knew what I was doing until I visited this site!
Hello everyone - I'm not new to the site but new to the whole TDEE concept. This being said, I have a few concerns/questions. At what point do you decide to eat at TDEE vs. the -15% cut vs. your BMR? How do you decide if you need a reset? As of July 5th, I restarted my eating clean regimen. I exercise 5 days a week, 3 days…

Calories required in other weight-lifting programs???
I'm new to the EMTWL forum and just wondered why does fitness programs such as Chalene Extreme state in her eating plan that if you weight, 140, which is what I weight, that I should eat 1300 calories? Apparently other fitness guides say this too, so I'm a bit confused about where that number comes from based on the EMTWL…

no weight loss (so far) after full reset
Hi! I love em2wl! I started a full reset about four months ago. Prior to that I was doing keto (I know, bad idea!!!) I felt tired and weird hormonally so I stopped that found em2wl and decided to do the reset. I'm 5'3.5 with a large frame and athletic build. Pre upping carbs and reset I was 139.5. I have a very physical…

Reset finally over! :] Need advise.
Hello everyone! =] Can someone help me? I've been eating at my TDEE for a few months now. I gained about 4 pounds and maintained my weight at 172 lbs. Now it's time to take the cut. Outside my exercise routine, I'm sedentary. My TDEE is 1900 according to MFP. I just want to know if I'm doing this right. I've read many…

I'm a little confused about activity levels
The activity levels are set up days/week, but wouldn't it be more accurate to determine activity level by how many hours/week a person exercises? If someone exercises 1-3 days a week, each workout could be 20 minutes or 60 minutes. Since 1-3 days/week is categorized as lightly active, the results could be screwed because…

Upped my calories, but I'm worried.
Recently I'd been starving myself, usually going under 1,200 calories out of desperation and I lost about 11 pounds. But a few days ago I decided to start eating healthy again and to up my calories. Today I did my first day of p90x. According to them I should be eating 1,700 - 1,900 calories to lose. I'm not sure if I…

Fitbit
Does anyone use a fitbit? If so do you have it set to subtract calories from your daily amount if you don't get in enough steps? I don't quite understand how that works.

Crash and burn yesterday!
So yesterday was day 3 of TDEE minus 15% and I completely fell off the bandwagon. Not sure if I hadn't drank enough water but I was starving mid afternoon which caused a tailspin of snacking and not logging. The first 2 days I was fine and wasn't hungry. So I'm back at it again today and making sure I drink enough water.…

Am I not eating enough?
I'm a 26 year old female, 154cm and 52.8kg, no idea about body fat %, according to different online calculators it's anywhere between 25-30%. But from what I understand online calculators are not very accurate. I want to get down to 45kg. I'm not in any hurry though. According to heybales spreadsheet I should eat 1250kcal…

Hi everyone- My name is Tamara, I'm 31, and I'm brand-spankin' new to EM2WL. I learned about it just yesterday after reading a transformation story on the Quest Bar blog. Given my dieting history (which I'll get to in a moment), I was definitely intrigued by the concept and quickly made my way to the website, bought the…

So i am focusing on eating clean and lifting/strength training rather than cardio just now and used the haybales spreadsheet to work out my calories, the first tab came out at 1339 or something which feels so low as i would normally eat more than that and this is close to my BMR, Then i looked on tab further along which…

New and confused
Just like the title says really. I know my BMR and my TDEE, so now where do I go from there? It seems that I am supposed to eat at least my BMR or 15% less than my TDEE. That's a lot of calories for someone who has been cutting down. I guess this goes against things we've been told ie cut down on calories to lose weight,…

Back to the group again, back in the saddle
Hey Guys, I am back here doing my EMTWL thing again. For those that don't know I was an old moderating, I guess when the group was kind of small. I had lost about 30 ish pounds doing it this way, but over the last 18months have had some serious life issues, that i used as an excuse to fall off the wagon. By fall off the…

Also, every now and again I spend around 1-2weeks in Portugal in which some days I do go over my…

Weights: what to start with?
Hello all, I did read all the threads previously but I'm not sure I found a discussion about what weights to start with. If I missed it can you please relink(searching sub forums seems unintuitive on mfp)? For those of you who were in the ball park of my stats (5'6", 167 lbs), what weights did you start lifting at? How do…

No progress on cut
It's been 2 weeks and all that's happened is my bloat went away and at first, I went down 3 lbs pretty quickly but now I'm one lb heavier than before I started. I set my fitbit food plan to 250 cals less than I burn and sometimes it let's me eat up to 2100 but on some of those days I only eat 1900, is that too much of a…

I've been doing pretty well with keeping on track with my exercising which I put as Moderate = 3 hours of brisk walking and 2…

How do I calculate...
calories burned during strength training??? I am currently doing Chalene Extreme. I am in the Burn Phase, do I have to enter every exercise separately? No time for that!
