My RMR - Low at 875. Working to increase it !
I had my RMR tested and was surprised to learn it was just 875. A bit of background on me 5 foot 2, 58-59 kg in weight I lost my 32 kg over the course of 2 & 1/2 years. I lift heavy and exercise intensely. I am nicely toned athletic looking now. When i needed a bit of a breather during my marathon weight loss I ate at a…

Had my RMR tested a second time and now confused
So I had my RMR tested yesterday morning for the second time and it came out to be 1300. This was first thing in the morning before food, coffee, 12 hours after exercise, etc. And now I'm confused but I'm not sure if I should be. When I had it tested 1.5 years ago or so, I did the same machine only at lunch time. So I…

Hi There - Ready for reset
Hello and thanks for reading :flowerforyou: Ive had a little success and a lot of confusion around how much I should be eating. I am 167 and 5' 7 Scooby puts my BMR at 1464 and TDEE at 2013, which seems to fit my fitbit's calculations. ( It has me burning anywhere from 1900 - 2400 depending on activity that day. My weight…

Weigh in
So I did my first weigh in since upping my calorie intake & cutting back on cardio I was so nervous because I know I would have gained a lot of weight but suprisingly I lost 2.5lbs so I'm not sure if I'm doing this right.

Hello!
Hey! My name is Leigh and I just wanted to say hello! I have recently re-joined MFP after taking a very long break- I felt calorie counting was becoming too much a part of my life...and food no longer was fun! Anyway, this group sounds brilliant. I am a massive advocate of eating enough and not restricting. I spent a large…

Spreadsheet vs. Scooby?
Hey everyone. I am having trouble deciding if I should use Heybale's spreadsheet or the "Accurate Calorie Calculator" (which takes body fat into account) on the scooby site to determine my TDEE. I am male, 19, 5'6", 16.4% body fat (according to the skin fold test from the spreadsheet), and weigh 140 lbs. I can only go to…

Help me... bad at math :)
I've been logging everything I eat for about 45 days straight. I've lost 21 pounds which I think it good, especially because I'm heavier so I expected it to come off quickly at first. However, the last 2 weekly weigh-in's have been disheartening. I've lost .2 lbs in 14 days. I'm obviously doing something wrong right? I…

Resetting metabolism
Okay so after months of unintentionally over exercising & undereating ive damaged my metabolism. So I've been researching how to do a metabolic reset for a while, found this group, I also went to my doctors to confirm it was my metabolism and not something serious that was causing my symptoms and I've figured out that my…

Maintaining/gaining on less calories?!
I'm experiencing something really strange and I really hope someone can help me. About a year ago, I was maintaining at 120 lbs eating around 2100 calories a day and exercising twice a week. After my summer holiday, I felt bloated so I ate less for a couple of days, around 1600 cals. A couple of days later, I found out I…

Fitbit people united
Hi everyone!! So... As some of you know, I recently bought myself a fitbit to help me track my TDEE a bit better (getting enthusiastic and a little bit scared with the info I've getting though). And I was wondering if anyone want to be pals with me in there as well :) Thanks!

care to share stories, offer comments, advice for me?
hi all, I'm new here. Unfortunately not "new" to dieting (the wrong way and via caloric deficit). After about 2 years of frustration, slowly gaining weight on extremely low calories, (gained 13-14 pounds slowly in those 2 years), I realized that i had lowered my metabolic rate to the point where my body had become…

Introduction/Personal Thread
I'm not exactly new to EM2WL, I tried it about 2 years ago before ditching my weight loss efforts all together out of stress, etc. But I'm excited to be back! I calculated my activity level based on my Fitbit data and didn't realize how much I had been underestimating my caloric needs. It's no wonder that every day I…

Help New to this
Hi so I'm new to MFP but I set my calories higher after talking to my doctor. Anyways I'm still a little confused as to how much i should eat. I'm a 5'7 female and weigh 175 pounds. I do get around 10,000 steps a day most days of the week according to the pedometer in my phone and I exercise for 45mins-1 hour a day, 5 days…

Help with calorie calc please
Hello. I've been at this weight loss thing since January. I haven't eaten super low cal, usually around 1750-1850 per day. Lately, though, I've been hitting a wall so I'd like to eat at maintenance for awhile and then go with maybe a 15% deficit for the last 10-15 pounds. So far I've used the TDEE-20% method to figure my…

Ok so let's see if I can say this right..lol My BMR is like 1475 and I went on to the website calories per hour and added up all the calories I would burn through out the day and what it came out to be is 2800, this is in a 24 hr period of course. So if my BMR is what what body burns at rest/coma and no activities then do…

Intro and things. :)
Hey ladies, I've been following along with the FB and website for a while and did my own metabolism for pretty much the last year. Quick history: I lost most of the weight so far (50+ lbs, the number escapes me right now) about 4 years ago via WW and have maintained at this weight since then. During that time I've upped my…

Making sure i get reset right
Hi, I want to make sure I have the right numbers. Earlier in the year i used a BMF and got an average over the last month of 2700ish a day, even though i wasn't losing then, guess i should've done a reset way back then.... I had started SL 5x5 around that time and i was running more than i am now. But the weights are…

Starting a Strength Program - Advice Needed
Hi lovely EM2WLers, Hope everyone is doing well! I posted this on the EM2WL forums, but I haven't seen any response there and I think this forum might be more active. So -- last time I had introed myself I was just starting to EAT MORE, thought I had reached my goal weight, decreased on cardio and just focused on free…

Can you help me determine activity level, please?
I am female, 54, 5'8", 203 lbs (up from 192). My normal routine is that I walk a minimum of 11,000 steps per day except Sunday, which is a minimum of 5500. I may hit right at 11,000 or I may hit 20,000 depending on the day--I get in at least 30 minutes "very active" and typically more than 60-90 minutes according to my…

Fitbit Calculations
Sorry if this has been asked before, but I'm new to the Fitbit and EM2WL. I have a Flex. I'm a bit confused about how this works. On my dashboard, Fitbit tells me that my TDEE is 2184 daily. Scooby says its 2087. Not much difference. The TDEE on my Fitbit never changes because I never input any activity? I enter my…

When is my reset over?
Hi all! I am currently going into my 9th week of my reset & was just curious to know what are the signs that a reset is over? Mentally I have reached a point where I am easily eating my TDEE without feeling stuffed (as in the beginning)! The scales still seem to fluctuate on a regular basis. Fortunately it's only 1-1.5 kgs…

Can someone help me out with calorie intake?
As a bit of background, I've always been into competitive sports. I raced bicycles competitively for 8 years, ran & played soccer. I was always pretty thin/athletic at around 115lbs (I'm 5'7" btw), but maybe with a little stomach going on from all endurance sports and no weightlifting (at all). Since getting a real job…

Any advice?
So, I'm at a complete loss. I feel disappointed with everything right now. I weighed in today (which is probably the cause of this feeling) and find that I'm at 89.7kg. Basically, in 8 months, I've put on 9.6kg. All of my measurements are up by 3-4cm. I feel like a giant whale. All of my clothes are tight and I don't feel…

Only lose when I eat MORE?
I feel like I'm losing my mind, but it seems the only mornings that I have lost weight are after days that I have actually eaten MORE. If I eat 1800+ I will drop a little. If I eat less then I seem to stall or even go up a pound or two. Could this be an actual trend? Anyone else experience this? Or am I imagining things?

Am I understanding correctly?

Take 2...
So, a few years back I stumbled across this group. I was eating 1200 cals a day, cardio bunny with very light weights 5 times a week. Usual stuff, no energy, hair falling out, nails breaking, 'womens stuff' not happening, no bowel movements etc..I saw this group, jumped on the wagon but I guess I never took it seriously,…
