[HELP] 1-800-Get-Thin Scammers!
I had a weight-loss surgery done back in April through a company called 1800-Get-Thin. I was assigned a rep which assured me it would be IN-NETWORK and my insurance would cover most of it and all I would have to pay pay out of pocket would be $2500, which I paid a few weeks before the surgery using my sterling card. I have…

no one warned me...
so thinking I was going to look extra spiffy on Christmas day I bought myself a cute little sweater dress and some control top hose. The day was miserable once I started eating. I felt like every snacked bite was getting stuck and when we sat down to dinner, even eating a portion of food half the size of normal made me…

Help! I need bridesmaid dress size help!
Ladies who have lost, I am 2 weeks post surgery (bypass) and down 20 pounds. I am in a wedding in September (8 months post-op), and have no idea what size I will be by then. Originally I though about a 16, but after reading several posts and blogs, I'm thinking it could be smaller. Any thought or suggestions for me? I'm…

Stalls?
Dec 28th, I'll be 4 mths post op. This whole month has been one big stall for me pretty much - I've lost like 3lbs since Dec 1st, which is nothing compared to the first three months. I honestly haven't done anything differently this month - eating just as I had been all along. Is this normal at this stage? I am getting…

2 Week Update
So I know that everyone is different when it comes to weight loss, but I have to say I got the BEST Christmas present today! I had my first post surgery appointment. I had decided when I went in for my surgery NOT to weigh at home during the first two weeks, because I know it really wavers. My secret hope was that I would…

Time for new protein powder
Hi All! Hoping for some feedback here. I need to try some different protein powders. I've been using designer whey but they are just too sweet for me now. I was considering trying Syntrax Nectar cause I've heard good things about it but I'm worried about it being too sweet too. Even crystal light is too sweet for me right…

husbands getting annoyed
I am 13 months out from RNY. I am at my goal weight. Every time I log my food, exercise or say something about my food choices or weight my husband gets annoyed. He says that "I am too skinny or too boney" I tell him that I am just making sure that I don't gain my weight back. Like today, I ate some junk that I shouldn't…

Lower abdominal pain post-surgery
I'm 4 weeks post-op and am experiencing a sharp pain on my lower left side. It is always worse at night and I mostly feel it when I'm changing positions (sitting to standing, lying to sitting, etc.) or if I've been sitting for a long period of time. Heat and/or applying pressure makes it feel a little better. Sometimes, it…

So tired of eating...
I'm 4 weeks out and in the middle of stage 4 (mushy foods). I am SO tired of eating, essentially, baby food all of the time. :( I try to mix it up so that I'm not eating the same thing over and over again. But the texture and the fact that I eat so slow that everything is luke-warm to cold is getting to me. The one, and…

2 Weeks Post-Op & Having Back Pain?
I am about two weeks out from having RNY Gastric Bypass surgery, all is well, haven't had any issues dumping or vomiting or anything, I am adjusting well to food, but after a while sitting up, standing or waling around I get a dull ache in my mid back (that only ceases once I lay down) that I haven't had before. I have a…

Post Surgery Everything is....
too sweet! I cannot believe it! Not that I had a huge sweet tooth or anything, but I never minded sweets before, and now, even the sugar free stuff is just to much! Thank goodness I can have cream based soups, strained of course. I would not be able to tolerate this phase 2 diet without it! Oh, and for those of you in…

Abdominal binders
So I am five days post op and I haven't been using my binder. I have tremendous difficulty breathing with it on. Is there a point where I'm going to find it more helpful? There is a lot my surgeon doesn't want me to do without it.

Indian Food after WLS?
Has anyone had any luck with eating Indian food after WLS? I'm still in the mushy food stage and am trying to think of some ideas for going out to dinner with my Husband. Most Indian foods are the right texture since they are often cooked in sauces - I'm just wondering about the fat content. Obviously, Chicken Tikka Masala…

Are you Pre-WLS? Great Liver Cleansing Foods
We all know that a must do as part of our pre surgery prep (of course before your pre-op liquid diet) is to try to cleanse our liver to reduce it in size and make the surgery we are going to have that much easier. Reducing your sugar consumption is a great way to work towards a healthier liver. I ran across a great site…

Calorie Intake 5 months Post-Op
Hi All... I will be 5 months post-op next week and I'm still struggling with my calorie intake. I get enough protein, I'm drinking 4 or 5 a day, but food just has no appeal to be so I'm averaging between 600-700 calories per day, 800-900 on a good day and I'm exercising. Any advice on getting more calories and how many I…

Do People Forget?
I wonder if people forget that I have had WLS. Now they only see the hard work that I have done and now I am beginning to think that they are starting to forget how big I used to be. Don't get me wrong I am glad they are forgetting the old me and looking at me normally now. Just kinda wierd. Anyone else experienced this???
