Insurance Company Denied surgery
I am so upset that after all this time and all I have went through that the insurance company denied my request for surgery. Their reason is because they said that I have not been on a doctors supervised diet for 6 months, paper work stated that it was only 4 months. I started seeing the doctor for this weight loss plan in…

Hello All, So the unthinkable happened. Truly did not believe I could regain fertility in a month. Positive pregnancy test, so I'm about 6 weeks along. Had gastric bypass surgery on July 30, 2012. Bad news. I would like to know if any of you have experienced pregnancies that early after surgery, the complications you…

gall bladder surgery in two days
I am on day two of my liquid per op diet for gall bladder removal. I have gall stones and am happy to be rid of the offensive organ. Even soup is making me sick. Why did my gall bladder go bad? Don't know. Could be a number of factors. Years of overweight, the lap band, the hormone pills, the spicey foods I love. Your…

Am I loosing enough?
Tuesday (10/16) will be 7 weeks post op for me (RNY). To date I have lost 61lbs - 33 of those pounds have been since the surgery. I've had a couple blips where for anywhere from 4-7 days the scale hasn't moved at all. Is this normal? I just keep thinking maybe I should have lost more by now. Am I just expecting too much…

Vegetarian

Frustrated!
I am getting so frustrated with this process. I first went to my PCP in October of last year to discuss weight loss surgery. By the time the whole referral process ran its course, I got a call from the surgeon's office in the middle of November. I have to have a six month supervised diet, supervised by my primary care…

11 year post op -75% of excess weight, back to fighting 25%.
Hey All, I had RNY Gastric Bypass April 20, 2001 and started at 340 lbs. I've kept 75% of my excess weight off, even after 11 years...but I'm 40 lbs heavier than my lowest post-op weight, and not happy about it. Ugg. So, back to tracking calories and exercise...Again! If you are pre or shortly post-op, remember this is a…

Hungry
Although I had surgery 5months ago, I have days where I can eat continuously...especially right before TOM. Anyone else experience this....I don't usually eat a lot at once, but it's continuous grazing. On these days I can eat as many as 1500 calories. It's scary when I think of how easily I could put back on the lbs!

Tell me the negatives of surgey
Be honest. Tell me all the negatives you encountered and how you dealt with them. Is there anybody that had it that regrets having GB surgery?

Dehydration sucks!
So I was having all sorts of issues with getting enough liquids, and then I went on a trip for work. Let me just say, if you are already dehydrated, DO NOT go on a flight! I spent the week I was gone just trying to recover from the flight out, and by the time I got back, I couldn't walk for 10 minutes without getting…

Couch 2 5K?
Has anyone tried Couch 2 5K? I still have about 7 pounds to lose before meeting my pre-surgery goal and I decided that I really need to focus on following a regular exercise routine. My husband has decided to try Couch 2 5K and I reluctantly decided to join him. We just finished Week 1 Day 1 and I'm really not sure what I…

Have you tried…

Just curious, I am 5 weeks out and as I was sipping some iced coffee (homemade) tonight I wondered will we always sip the rest of our lives or will there come a time where we can just drink normally (not gulping or anything like that)?

Logging When Eating Out?
I live in Reno & we have an annual Italian festival that I would hate to miss (I am Sicilian so it's almost a MUST in my family) but I can't figure out how I would go about logging if I eat anything while I am there. I don't want to go without a plan and wipe out all of the hard work I have done staying under my 1,100…

NSV Today I'm overweight!
I just wanted to share my joy. Today when I jumped on the scale I was hoping for 175 (my Halloween goal) but instead I got 173.8 which means my BMI is finally in the overweight category. I'm so excited about knowing that my first "normal" weight goal is less than 30 pounds away that I'm tempted to have my ticker count down…

Plastic Surgery
Ok I am only 7 months our from RNY, but I am almost at goal weight and the skin is really starting to bother me. Is there a required amount of time that you should wait before having the nips and tucks? It's not a pretty sight and I am ready to be done with it!!!!

Bone Marrow Donation?
I've always wanted to register to be on the bone marrow donation list but my weight has prevented me - I am now about 50lbs away from the upper end of what they will accept and that makes me happy. But I am wondering would having had the surgery made me an unacceptable candidate? It's something I am going to talk to my…

I have noticed many posting where someone describes a gain-back after having shed all their (expected) weight from RNY. Is there some physical reason for this? I mean, is it a given that I'll gain some back after reaching 'goal?"
