LapBand & Burping
I was told after I had the lapband surgery I wouldn't burp anymore. Well I do have the urge to burp occasionally and cannot. But I have lately started burping! And loud ones that I don't know are coming. Haven't done it at work in front of anyone but the hubby and I are wondering why I am doing this now. Anyone else having…

Birth Control
My surgeon let me know that my birth control pill may not be as effective after surgery, even with the sleeve instead of bypass. I do plan on discussing this with my internist but I wanted to get your opinions on what birth control options you find work best for you. Thanks!

Ulcers anyone?
I'm 2 years out and haven't had any complications at all. My husband on the other hand, had RNY surgery June 2012 and developed an ulcer at 1 month post op. He has been taking meds, but is still in a lot of pain and gets sick easy. He gets scoped again in a couple of weeks. He is miserable and I feel for him.

Afraid of Lettuce and the pouch
I had an episode one time long before the band - where I choked on a piece of lettuce  . Scared me silly! So I am for some reason scared of eating a salad - I will nibble a bit on lettuce and if I cut it up into teeny tiny teeny tiny little itty bitty pieces I will have some. Has anyone had any issues with foods (like…

9 years post-op
Hello everyone. I had Laproscopic Gastric Bypass in September 2003. At the time I weighed nearly 300 lbs (can't be sure because honestly I avoided scales like the plague and turned my head when I was weighed). By July of 2004 I was down to 125 lbs and never happier. I met my now husband that summer. We now have a child of…

Last Pre-Surgery Appt.
I met with the surgeon today for my last weigh-in before my surgery! I am so excited! I'm doing great on the 2 week diet, and hope to lose another 5 pounds or so before the surgery. I have less than 2 weeks to go at this point. I started the process in May so it's been 8 months from start to surgery and lots of hoops. So…

Sad Today
One of my ladies that I have been talking with had surgery yesterday and is in the ICU because they knicked her bowel. She is on a ventalator. Had to have all kinds of blood transfusions, not to mention what infection she could have due to the bowel leaking into her. Please pray for my friend. I feel so bad as I always…

Hiccups?!
I get hiccups a lot now - usually after eating. As nuts as it may sound, it seems like it coincides with when I feel "full" and I stop eating. Am I imaging the connection or is there something to it?

Post Lap Band.. feel like I'm failing :(
Hey everyone :) I had lap band surgery on 7/13/12. I'm only down 28 lbs and have been stuck there for at least 2 months now. I'm currently at 10.4 cc's in my band. I don't feel like I have much restriction though. I don't know what I'm doing wrong! I feel like I can eat too much before I even feel full. I thought that it…

Post-Op Alcohol
I will be having my RNY Gastric Bypass surgery in a week and with Christmas coming up I am feeling somewhat discouraged because I know that my pouch will not be able to handle piratically any of the foods being served, but I was wondering if there was a light at the end of the tunnel.. Low Blood Sugar
Prior to my surgery (8.28.12) I was prediabetic. My numbers have been in the 90's now - normal. (Hubby is diabetic so I use his meter to check once a week or so.) Lately, I've been feeling wicked tired, kinda "foggy", overall just blah, at times even a bit shaky. I took a reading this afternoon and was at 75. I am going to…

Broth Suggestions - For Flavor
Does anyone have suggestions on broth brands/flavors that they liked for there and post op diet? I have no preference if it's veggie, chicken or beef since I just want something that has a good flavor that hopefully will not upset my stomach. "Dream" Dress - Stage 1
So, I am starting my liquid diet this week in preparation for surgery on December 11th. I know it seems like awful timing, but we did Thanksgiving over the weekend so it would not be an issue this week.
