Your response was very informative anyway and I'm sure it will be helpful to those using the search function. I very much appreciate all the info you offered :-)

It worked for me on one of the older systems but only when I counted 0 point foods. I feel like they completely left out those of us who never learned or forgot how to "eat until satisfied". Uhhh, that's how I got fat in the first place. If I knew how to eat until satisfied, I wouldn't needed any type of program.

Today is Day 2 for me. Trying to plan 3 meals and snacks every day is completely overwhelming for me. Once I eat something, I'm starving the rest of the day. I don't know if it's psychological, hormonal, or what but it never fails...the more I eat, the hungrier I am. I'm doing OMAD (one meal a day) and just started…

Thank you! I have a feeling that is going to be where I end up as well. Stupid calories. Lol

It's funny because I hear of so many machines being way off. It definitely depends on the machine. While I was just on vacation, I used the elliptical at the hotel. I wore my regular HRM but inputted my info into the machine. They were only like 10 cals different.

17 years of sitting at a desk here. Lol

I've done a lot of the programs. Currently doing Insanity Max 30. LOVE Shaun T!

It really takes a moment for something to click inside you. I started and stopped so many times before something finally sunk in. Logging religiously definitely helped. Once that became a habit and I started seeing/feeling results, it became MUCH easier. It just takes time to really become mentally prepared sometimes.

I do a lot of the programs and I personally love them! I don't follow any of the eating plans or drink Shakeology.
-
I love it. I get up at 3:30am to work out so I need the caffeine. Pills just don't work the same for me for some reason.

Absolutely. For me, it's the initial thought of why bother restricting calories if I could've eaten at maintenance? Obviously, that's not the reality of it, but it's always the initial thought.

I keep finding conflicting information on protein levels. Do you know what this equates to per pound? I keep seeing people posting 1-1.5 per POUND, when I believe it is actually per KG, as your post states.
-
It definitely seems like an arbitrary number. It is quite a blanket statement to say that a certain number of calories is necessary to get proper nutrition. I've seen some pretty crappy nutrition at really high calories. I don't condone under-eating or eating so little you feel lethargic or show physical malnutrition…

Ahhhhh, gotcha! Lol.

I envy people like that, lol. It doesn't work like that for me at all. I have to log every morsel I eat. Luckily it really helps curb my appetite though.
-
A ton of people do, lol. I hate click bait so that definitely annoys me. I think the message is important though. I have SO many friends/coworkers/acquaintances that go through the same song and dance over and over and over again. Don't exercise at all. Start taking hardcore classes at the gym. Lose 10 pounds quickly. Get…
-
Exactly, I gained 30 lbs doing the exact same level of exercise I do now. It's all about what I eat.
-
It's the way it's worded. It doesn't say you should stop exercising IN ORDER to lose weight. It's saying you shouldn't view exercise solely as a means of weight loss.
-
Do you lose more? No. It makes a difference for me personally in that I am less hungry, my cravings went away, it helped some hormone issues I had, and helps me eat more volume for less calories. For overall weight loss, it's not some magic pill though. It's easy for me to stick to, but lots of people find it difficult. It…
-
That's awesome! :D
-
I tried them but felt zero benefit.
-
I skimmed the article and I agree with the overall message. Exercising with the sole purpose of losing weight is setting yourself up to be disappointed.
-
Ehhhh, I guess it will depend on who you are trying to market yourself to. There's going to be people at opposite ends of the spectrum. Some women will say you're too bulky (as in you have ANY muscle as some are turned off by that) but there's not a whole lot you can do about it. Personally, I'd rather see someone with…
