as i approach maintenance i hadn't thought about the possibility of eating more on weekends. i am glad for this insight, as i have lately missed the fun of having the occasional big sunday morning breakfast. it is good to know there will most likely be a way to still work pleasures like this into my eating plan. :)

wow... what an interesting thread. especially since so many folks are saying the same thing. i was 10, 20, 30lbs away from my goal and i decided too... i wonder if some of this is just the fear of reaching our goals. and no longer having that to focus on. i have lost 101lbs in a little over a year. i am 20 lbs away from…

yep:-) beat me to it. easy peasy :)

did you set up a profile yet? input your stats (age, goal weight...) to determine your daily calorie intake for weight loss. then log your meal plan each day in your diary, keeping it under those calories. figure out what real portions look like, if you don't already know. some people use a scale. some folks approximate…

oh I see. that makes sense. that way you have wiggle room. are you going to up your cals slowly?
-
sounds like you hit it :) congratulations :) are you working out a plan to maintain it yet? i haven't reached my goal yet, but i have been thinking about that a lot lately. nice job reaching your goal. you must be super pleased:-)

i weigh daily as well. it really works for me, so i plan on continuing that along with logging. but i think i will incorporate some version of the pants thing as well. maybe one size over and under. that's what i have right now. all of them fit. the smallest are snug comfy, biggest ones are lose comfy, mid range one are…

i think this (or a version of this) is going to be mine too :)

I hope you had an awesome dinner, and that you and the scale are still friends today. just keep moving forward :)

Don't start from the beginning...start from right here. You are not where you were when you started this journey. If your car stalls on a road trip, you don't have to go back to where you began your journey. You now know how to lose weight and you know more about keeping off once lost. Best of luck going forward :)

lol :) i can totally relate. last week, on my way to grab a banana and water, i stopped by and "visited" the big daddy sub sandwich i used to get at the convenience store. i didn't look at it longingly really... i wasn't stalking it :) it was more like--wow...i can't believe we used to date...

i hope you enjoyed your chinese food. i don't really call them splurge days. but do have days where i eat out, and i have pizza, chinese, mexican, or whatever. i plan it out so it still fits my calories. i have done this throughout. and as i get closer to maintenance, i am including more foods which i a haven't eaten in a…

right:-) not that i would trade the weight loss. and i am certainly committed to doing the work to keep it off. but there is a lot of this in what i am experiencing at the moment. this mirrors what is going on with me so closely. thanks for sharing. and thanks everyone else for sharing as well. it really helps as i embark…

so you could sleep from 8p to 4a. then eat from noon to 8p. it might just feel like you skipped breakfast... must you sleep or can you just stop eating at a certain time? could you just stop eating at 8pm, go to sleep whenever, wake up whenever, and just not eat before noon?

i can relate to this. it's not that i deny myself really. but i miss the spontaneity a bit. having to plan so carefully. the other day i was in a gas station, and i felt really good that i can easily grab a banana and water instead of the junk i used to buy. i feel like this most of the time. but there is still a lot to…

will chia seeds help?
-
i make that quite often. it works well with just a bit of half and half. i will have to give vanilla extra a try.

for the folks who love using a scale, do you plan on using one for the rest of your life or just until you reach your goal weight?
-
it really depends on your body type. do you have any clothes that are a bit tight for you. maybe a pair of pants that currently will not zip. you could use them as a measure...

using the mfp database, i usually just pick a well known chinese restaurant and go with the stats for their food. i also pick and pre log a few things that will probably be ordered, (if i don't have input on ordering) and stick with those. things like chow mien, sweet and sour chicken, pot stickers, or egg rolls.

you are allowed more calories on days when you exercise. eat 'em. don't eat 'em. your choice. opinions on this topic vary.

yep:-)

sounds super frustrating. he actually disrespected you first with the whole "it weighs a tampon" nonsense. i would just keep asking him to clean up after himself. if he refuses, tell him his behavior as trainer is really unprofessional. say this in front of his client. and then proceed to clean up yourself. he will soon…

way to go:-)

you can still enjoy food with them. food is delicious. you don't have to overeat to enjoy delicious food. try not to be grossed by them. and try not to be grossed out by yourself because you used to be like them. you were not gross before. your friends and family are not gross now. just love them for who they are. and love…

i lost 19 lbs in the first two weeks. i wouldn't be alarmed by your quick initial drop. and so long as you are not trying to starve yourself, stopping eating when you are full is a good habit to develop. best of luck going forward:-)

like others have said. i eat what i ate before, but less. there were a few items that i took a while to reintroduce into my diet. and i had to learn how to not overeat them. pizza, for example. it took me a few months after i started losing weight to start eating it again. i had to learn to just have a slice at a time…

congratulations on reaching your goal:-) that is a wonderful accomplishment. have you tried going into settings, scrolling to the bottom of the page, and changing your goal from losing to maintaining? best of luck going forward:-)
