Congrats @Scrappie54! We all gain and lose. The important thing is to keep working on it. All the best on this leg of your journey!

i totally get it. and the others who have said you should count your calories accurately are correct. can you work it out so you could have both a chocolate bar and a banana? sometimes i have extra servings of fruit and veg, but only count it as one. It is not the best practice, but you should do what works for you, so…

Welcome back. Add me if you like:-)

just find a comparable restaurant fajita, and log that. tortillas aren't forbidden. it is more important to log everything you put in your mouth. be as accurate as you can, but improvise if need be. planning and logging my meals first thing in the morning helps me. sometimes i change things around a bit throughout the the…

avocado egg rolls are super yum. and i often get the steak and wasabi mashed potatoes.

Congrats on starting your journey. Yep. It is okay to leave some cals. The goal is to stay under. Not way under, as the person above said. But, if you are not hungry, no reason to eat. My understanding is that the calorie goal given by MFP has you eating at a deficit. So if you eat exactly 1600 per day, you will still be…

do what works for you. i have lost quite a bit of weight, and i never weigh my food. i do weigh myself every day though.
-
i weigh myself daily. that way i recognize the patterns, and don't freak out if my weight goes up a bit. i have been about 10 or 12 lbs away from my goal for a couple of months i think. same as you i decided to up my calories a bit just to see what works. 1 am now eating slightly over 1200 calories, instead of a flat 12. i…

yep. often three times a day. 111 lbs so far:-)

you and i are in the same boat. i am 5'3, and my original goal was 165. however, i really like the way I look now. I am considering maintaining at 175, with a range of 5lbs on either side.

drink enough beer, so you won't remember how much ice cream you ate...nah...i vote ice cream every time. but that stout float is calling my name. :)
-
this :) enjoy your vacation:-)

i fit things like burgers and pizza into my calorie goals every couple of months. but i make room for smaller treats almost everyday. i make sure it is something i can stay on portion with. i cut things into portions. keep them in the freezer. every couple of weeks, i buy those little squares of cake from the supermarket…

you got it :) i've lost 103 pounds just as you describe. i only eat foods that i find delicious. part of the process is learning to eat them in moderation. just plan your diary carefully and consistently. best of luck on your journey:-)

is it both cheeks or just one? it could be your hip is out of alignment. you might consider a chiropractor.

i agree with all that has been said. it does not impact weight loss if you are eating at a deficit. eating before bed did use to cause digestive issues for me. i would get indigestion in the middle of the night. but now that i have lost a bit of weight that has not been a problem.

yep. especially when i am hungry. it happened this morning. i was out walking the dog, and passed by this hotel where the were apparently serving delicious breakfast sandwiches. i continued walking for a bit. put my dog in his carrier. and stopped by the grocery store to find a breakfast of equal deliciousness to the one i…

i've done both. i like mfp better.
-
i've lost 101 lbs since joining mfp last january. i was still happy when i was a hundred pounds heavier. i was not happy because i was fat. i was happy because i worked on being positive and a good person. i loved myself. i love myself for those same reasons now that i have lost weight. saying, why would you bother to lose…

i don't know much about eating clean, but this link might help. it looks like you can eat it in moderation and they recommend certain types over others. good luck. http://www.realityofyou.com/clean-eating-challenge-is-cheese-clean-day-24/

would chia seeds help?

start by liking who you see in the mirror just as you are. the person you are is awesome because you are making a really cool commitment to get your act together. give yourself a break and a bit of credit. be patient with yourself as you make one small improvement at a time. make a commitment to log for five days in a row.…

Bologna...and cheese...are delicious together...

you have to be able to carry on with the behaviors that allowed you to lose the weight in the first place. so if you limit yourself with a traditional diet, and make some foods off limits, you will gain weight once you start eating those foods again. limiting calories is not the same as limiting foods. when you limit…

as i approach maintenance i hadn't thought about the possibility of eating more on weekends. i am glad for this insight, as i have lately missed the fun of having the occasional big sunday morning breakfast. it is good to know there will most likely be a way to still work pleasures like this into my eating plan. :)
