So the trick is 1) add resistance training and 2) proportionally increase the protein percentage, all while maintaining a calorie deficit?

Impressive!

Ready to support!

If you're watching what you eat and getting exercise that's a great start. Log away and do your best to meet your calorie deficit and the carb/protein/fat percentages. Stay positive and come here for support!!

5 pounds to go and then for me all 15 need to stay off!
-
Welcome back, great attitude!

Hang in there! If you did it before you can do it again. Hopefully you can find a group of friends in this community who will support your efforts.

Lots of chatter here

You've come to the right place. Take a deep breath and post your goals, your plans and your motivation. Lots of people read these posts and those with similar background will undoubtedly send friend requests!

Welcome aboard! Follow the plan (percentages and deficit) and exercise if you can. Best wishes!

These are some smart fellows...but seriously I bet they mean every bit of it. Do it and they'll appreciate your satisfaction in yourself!

All positive here!

Hi all. Ahh to be in my 40s again...been using the app for 8 weeks now with super results. I am a member of a killer gym that offers an array of great classes, the calorie burn really helps with the deficit. Happy to be added as a friend as I'm very active with this app.

Superb major! Had a fascinating discussion last week about whether you can lose weight and not muscle mass...jury is still out on that one.

I've been at it for 8 weeks now. 11 pounds off, 6 to go. Need it off by May 1st so I can start cycle training at the right weight (assuming this bloody snow eventually melts!). Pretty much hitting the percentages and the deficit, but lots of exercise definitely helps.
-
Hope it went well! Stay with it and the results will come.
-
Yes you can always edit. Try to hit the percentages as well, they're as important as the calorie deficit. Exercise also helps give you some wiggle room with calories. Stay with it and the results will come!

Brilliant!

The inevitable plateaus. Oh and a love of scotch and dessert neither of which I've had in over a month!
-
I like the 80% rule for the calorie burn estimated by my HRM which uses a chest strap. I've been at this for 8 weeks and the weight is coming off according to schedule.
-
Phase you ever considered cycling? You sound like a good athlete so it would be easy to pick up. Nothing beats the calorie burn!
-
You've come to the right place!
-
You're in the right place! I'm just over halfway through my winter 15 lb. The first few weeks are definitely the toughest, just do what you need to do to make the deficit and hit the macro percentages.
-
Well I saw one NH!
-
Thanks Allan much appreciated. Kick boxing is probably the funnest way to burn calories in the dead of winter; at my age having fun is a big part of the motivation! I'm having a great time staying in shape at a rockin gym until the snow thaws, and just trying to tweak my macros to minimize any muscle loss until the roads…

Boot camp, kick boxing, TRX - would those make a difference?
-
Log away and hit those percentages!
-
How is your calorie deficit? Are you also hitting the targets for carb/protein/fat percentages? How are you determining your calorie burn during workouts?
-
Wow impressive. I'm sure you know plateaus are normal, just keep doing what you're doing. I would say have faith but your results speak for themselves!
-
Set a goal and start logging. Exercise will not only give you some wiggle room with your calorie deficit it's also good for you!
