  • Congratulations to your wife! Well wishes for her speedy recovery. I was lucky enough to have an amazing support team when I had my surgery. I also had a well-intentioned sister who acted like the food police! My best advice based on my experience is to follow her lead (within reason) when it comes to her food and her…
  • Glad to hear you're doing well!
  • Hey! I was sleeved in December 2018 and (after lots of slacking during the summer lol) I hit 100 pounds down 😍 I'm so glad I took the time to put myself first and have this surgery!

  • So exciting! Stay strong!!
  • I had the same issue! Mine got so bad I couldn't hold my niece because I was scared I would drop her. (She was about 3 months old at the time) Definitely talk to your surgeon. My surgeon recommended I increase my salt intake and that cleared everything up. Again, speak with your surgeon bc he or she knows you WAY better…
  • Hey Steph! It's definitely disheartening..I can only imagine how frustrated you must be. But!! Remember why you started this whole process to begin with! Your health and well-being is worth fighting for. You are worth fighting for! Keep your chin up! - Stephanie from across the pond 😊
  • I completely agree with garber6th. I certainly wasn't hungry coming out of surgery. I really only ate at the hospital because the nurses and my mom kept reminding me I needed to eat!
  • Same! I was sleeved 12/3/18!!
  • Hey there! Sleever here! I had an amazing experience with Dr. Fang out of Phoenix. Him and his team (with the exception of one person) was/is top notch. After discussing all of my options, I ultimately chose the sleeve. I'm almost 8 months out and I'm happy with my decision. I'm no longer prediabetic, my resting heart rate…
  • Dang! That was a potential complication for me.. if there was any erosion or slippage, my surgeon wanted to remove the band first, let me heal, then go back in and complete the VSG. It's all about your health and doing the surgery safely. Your patience and persistence will pay off in the long run!
  • Checking in!! I've started off strong this week! I'm super proud of my progress.. water goals are getting better! Been to the gym 3 times so far and I've been on 2 walks! Food choices are pretty much on point so I'm super excited!
  • Checking in!! I came down with the flu last week so everything went to pot 😂 the silver lining is that I lost, like, 5 pounds because I just wasn't hungry.. Totally broke a stall I was in. I'm almost 100% so I'm going to take it easy at the gym today and see how that goes!
  • @NicoleL874 water goals are going great and I'm exercising more consistently. I've identified my snacking "opportunities" and I'm working to put a plan in place. Basically, I like to eat in the evenings and weekends are tough. Especially when I don't have any plans!
  • Hey there! I'm a band revision to sleeve too! I was sleeved on 12/3/18. I was off pain meds within the first few days. Intermittent nausea was a problem for me for a about month, but it has since gotten way way better.
  • Loving this! This month for me is focused on clean eating, hitting my water goals, and getting back in the gym!!
  • I was sleeved at the beginning of December 2018! I'm still figuring it out, but I'm getting there 😊
  • So one thing mu nutritionist recommended was to sent a date when I would be done with my "diet vacation". Much like a real vacation, it can't last forever and we gotta get back to real life 😊 kinda silly, but I hope it helps!
  • Hey there! I had a BMI of 53 when I started! Pre op is hard, but it's worth it in the long run 😊 I'm 5 weeks post op from VSG. Feel free to add me!
  • Hey there! I'm a previous bander! Mine was placed in 2013. Fills were painful for me and I quickly learned to eat around it. I gained about 80 pounds with the band. The thing with the band is that they have some pretty severe complications like slipping or eroding or leaving bacteria in your esophagus. I was sleeved about…
  • Another Sleever here! I'm 2 weeks post op today and I'm down 20ish pounds since surgery, 60ish overall 😊
  • No one told me how much happier I would be! I always heard people tell me that my life would be better (and in my head I thought yeah. Okay.) I've only lost about 30 pounds so far (about 150 to go!) But even now, I am happier eating chicken and veggies after the gym than I ever was eating a burger and fries after work
  • I have a gastric band. It was placed about 5 years ago. I wasn't ready for it. I lost probably 30 or 40 pounds and then put on about 70 pounds. I learned how to "eat around" the band. If it works for you, then great! It just didn't work for me. My dad also had a band placed. (His was placed prior to mine). He lost a bunch…
  • I'm in!! Height: 5'6 SW: 330 CW: 301 GW: 285 Method: CICO, elliptical 5x/week, weight training
  • I've been there! But now if I go without exercising, the day doesn't feel complete! Start small. Go for a 15 minute walk and build up from there.
  • I'm down almost 30! Definitely more than 70 to go though!
  • Welcome! I'm another MFP who has over 100 pounds to lose! Feel free to add me 😊
  • I recommend reading (or listening! Its an audiobook!) Eat What You Love, Love What You Eat. I'm a boredom/emotional eater and this book helped me work out what is actually triggering my eating. Hope it helps!
  • Hey ladies!! I'm prepping for sleeve surgery! No date yet, but the goal is to have to surgery before of the year. I'm about 3 months into my supervised weight loss and I've lost 30 pounds so far. Feel free to add me!
